By the ti I returned to my chamber, my entire body already felt exhausted.

The heat of everything burned through my veins even after everything that happened earlier, but right now I couldn’t afford to rest. Too many things were happening at once and every single one of them could destroy the pack if we handled it wrongly.

I stood near the window waiting while one of the guards went to call Cane and Caden.

My mind stayed on Riley the entire ti.

The image of her lying unconscious on Leslie’s bed refused to leave my head. Her body had looked so weak when I carried her there, nothing like the stubborn woman who constantly argued with us and fought back no matter how difficult things beca.
