Bella’s POV

Moon arrived carrying a breakfast tray, flanked by several warriors bearing additional food containers. Her presence imdiately filled the space with tension.

"Since my husband decided to spend the night here instead of with his family, I figured I should join him for breakfast. Soone needs to remind him that he has obligations to his wife and two daughters," she announced, her voice dripping with bitterness.

The hostility radiating from her made it clear this morning would be anything but pleasant, especially when she discovered that Parker hadn’t just stayed to help with my children, but was planning to marry .

"Where exactly is my husband?" Moon demanded, scanning the room.

Exhaustion weighed on my shoulders as I moved aside, revealing Parker behind .

"Husband, did you sohow forget that your daughters traveled here specifically to spend ti with you?" Moon’s words carried venom and resentnt.

Her accusation wasn’t entirely unfounded. If his daughters had indeed co to see him, shouldn’t he have returned ho for at least a brief visit the previous evening?

"I arrived late last night. I didn’t want to disturb the children since they go to bed early," Parker responded defensively.

The harshness in his voice when addressing Moon confird what he’d told about their relationship lacking any genuine connection or affection.

"And what about your wife? Didn’t you want to see her either?" Moon pressed, her voice rising.

"I’ve told you countless tis - no," Parker snapped back.

I watched Moon’s gaze shift to with barely concealed hatred before she stepped away from him.

"Fine. Since you refuse to leave this place, the children will eat breakfast here. I can only hope my daughters will be safe in this environnt."

Her pointed look at Tara while speaking those words made my blood run cold.

"What exactly do you an by that?" I challenged her.

Moon faced with a cruel smile spreading across her lips.

"I’m well aware of what your daughter has been doing. She’s been on a killing spree."

The mont those words left her mouth, Parker seized her arm and began dragging her toward the exit, his grip rough and unforgiving.

He pulled her onto the front porch where their argunt escalated, voices carrying back to us.

"I’ve warned you - Tara is my daughter, and I won’t tolerate another negative word about her," Parker’s voice cut through the air.

His declaration sent my heart plumting. Why was he only claiming Tara as his daughter? The realization hit that word about the paternity had begun spreading.

Heavy footsteps on the porch interrupted my spiraling thoughts. Hugo appeared, pushing past the arguing couple to reach the door.

Once inside, he approached Tara and gently touched her cheek.

"How are you feeling today?" he asked, crouching down to her level.

"I’m happy now," she replied softly.

He gathered her into his arms, lifting her as he walked toward .

"And how are you? Did you manage to get so rest?" he inquired with genuine concern.

The transformation in Hugo over these past years amazed . He’d grown into soone I barely recognized - mature and caring.

"I’m alright. I slept well enough," I answered.

He set Tara down and moved to where Leah and Zack stood, kneeling before them.

"Are you two still fighting with each other?" he asked gently.

My children exchanged glances but remained silent.

"You should be supporting each other, helping your sister through her illness the sa way your mother helps other sick children," Hugo reminded them.

Zack looked between Leah and Tara, uncertainty written across his young face.

Tara appeared ashad, but Hugo’s earlier embrace seed to reassure her that she wasn’t facing this alone.

"But how can we help? We’re afraid of her," Zack admitted quietly.

Hugo shook his head with conviction.

"No, Zack. You need to protect your sisters. Sisters are the princesses of every household," he explained, running his hands soothingly over Leah and Tara’s backs.

I could see both girls straightening with newfound confidence at his words.

"What about then?" Zack asked, placing his small hands on his hips playfully.

"You’ll be their guardian. Every princess needs a brave warrior by her side," Hugo replied with a smile.

Zack’s laughter filled the room.

"Yes! I’ll protect both my sisters," he declared proudly.

He pulled both girls into a group hug, his arms encircling Tara’s neck and Leah’s shoulders.

The sight of my children united again brought overwhelming relief.

"And what about us? Will we protect him too?" Leah wondered aloud.

Before I could respond, Hugo answered first.

"Absolutely. Won are often the fiercest fighters of all. Never forget that truth," he told them with conviction.

Both Tara and Leah’s eyes sparkled with renewed confidence.

"What did you say?"

Moon’s shrill voice shattered the peaceful mont.

"You’re planning to marry her?" she scread from the doorway.

Hugo quickly stood and motioned for the children to return to their rooms. I braced myself for the confrontation that was about to unfold.

As soon as my children disappeared into the house, Moon stord back inside to face directly.

"Have you no sha whatsoever? Aren’t you already married?" she shouted, her face contorted with rage.

"I will never allow this marriage to happen. You’ll only marry Parker over my dead body," she scread again, jabbing her finger at her own chest for emphasis.

The fury radiating from Moon promised that this battle was far from over.
