Chapter 78: Chapter 42 The Roof with a Hole
Dawn’s first light tore through the silent skies of the East, as Gu Changsheng looked up mournfully at a ninety-degree angle.
That’s right, she looked upward, right above where her roof was, there was a gaping hole, bricks and debris were scattered all over the bed, and Gu Changsheng on the bed did not escape this fate either.
How did this happen?
Gu Changsheng’s face crumpled into a bun of distress. She had just made a statent about her husband-selection criteria that was ant to shock the world and move ghosts to tears, and had very tactfully rejected the advances of a handso man, giving Zhou Mu a ‘nice guy’ card. How did this call forth the Gentleman on the Beam?
Actually, summoning the Gentleman on the Beam wasn’t much of a concern for her; she didn’t really mind that. But the key issue was, she had just revealed her secret, the secret of her ti travel was overheard, and this was quite fatal. She definitely didn’t want to be treated as a ghost put up on a cross.
While she was considering the likelihood of climbing onto the roof to kill and silence the witness, Zhou Mu’s reaction was direct and explosive. Did he not leap out of bed? Did he not plunge through her roof, creating a big hole? Did he not land her in this sorry state?

God damn it! Who had she offended? She deserved to suffer like this early in the morning!
Gu Changsheng sulkily sat in bed covered in bricks and debris, with tens of thousands of imaginary alpacas stampeding and roaring in her heart, causing her facial nerves to twitch and jump with shock.
After saying a whole lot of things, she didn’t even get a single reply, and all she got in return was a broken roof. Now who could she talk to about this?
Indeed, showing off courts disaster. Should she install a lightning rod on her head to avoid any mishaps?
Her luck had been particularly bad lately, disaster might strike out of the blue at any mont, so it was best for her to be careful.
“Bang…”
A sudden noise, followed by more bricks and dust, left Gu Changsheng looking sooty as she watched the round object that had fallen from the sky, crushed onto her, and nimbly rolled to the side.
What the hell! So inconsiderate!
Gu Changsheng, covered in soot, wiped her face and shook off the bricks from her clothes, then raised her head to the hole in the roof, now twice as large.
Bursting into tears…
Eunuch Yuan Bao rolled clumsily off the bed and steadied himself, looking up only to et Gu Changsheng’s angry, fiery eyes glaring at him intensely.
She looked as if she wanted nothing more than to skin him alive and pull out his bones, quite a terrifying sight.
Gu Changsheng was absolutely furious, she could feel the raging inferno around her. Pointing first at the door, then at the fat man who had fallen from the sky, she spoke angrily, “Is my door just for show? Does everyone prefer to co through the roof? Or is walking on the roof sohow more refreshing and more dramatic?”
Eunuch Yuan Bao quietly took out a handkerchief from his sleeve and nervously wiped the dust from his face. Although he didn’t quite understand what she was saying, clearly she was dissatisfied with his thod of arrival.
“I was just in a hurry, saw there was a hole and ca down through it…” Eunuch Yuan Bao’s round, cherubic face twisted into a knot, his eyebrows and eyes squeezed together, inadvertently comical.
But Gu Changsheng couldn’t find it humorous. No matter who it was, having to endure such an ordeal early in the morning, no one would be able to laugh.
“Just like the master, such are his servants; not one of you is any good, none of you bloody likes to take the proper path!” Gu Changsheng snorted coldly, glancing at her bed that no longer resembled one at all. Life was truly becoming unbearable!
“By the way, where is ‘what’s his na’, my master?” Eunuch Yuan Bao suddenly rembered the purpose of his visit and asked anxiously. Jiang San was useless, sent to gather information, they had waited anxiously all night long, their mouths blistered from nervousness, yet that guy had slipped away!
Last night, the master was tackled to bed by this fierce woman—but where was he now?
“Your master?” Gu Changsheng grimly looked up and pointed at the large hole in the roof, “He left through that hole you ca from.”
What did you think, that I have nothing better to do but poke holes in my own roof? Gu Changsheng sneered inwardly, unspeakably frustrated.
“You let my master go? Weren’t you demanding a ransom?” Eunuch Yuan Bao shook the silver pouch in his hand, disbelief written all over his face. This woman had sworn last night that without seeing the silver, she would sell off his master!
As soon as Gu Changsheng’s eyes caught the glint of the silver pouch, they lit up instantly.
At that mont, if anything could soothe her wounded soul, it was undoubtedly silver!
She leaped off the bed in one swift motion, snatched the silver pouch with one hand, and looked at Yuan Bao with a beaming smile as she amiably explained, “True, I trust your master’s integrity, and I believe he wouldn’t skip out on a debt. So I let him go ahead.”
