Yan Zi was taken aback by this question.
She looked at Gu Shengyin with a sowhat uncertain expression: "Are you talking about that... the Heavenly Lone Star that brings misfortune to all close to them?"
Gu Shengyin nodded.
Yan Zi’s expression was a little strange. She looked at Gu Shengyin as if she had guessed sothing.
Gu Shengyin didn’t leave her in suspense: "I am the one with the Heavenly Lone Star life pattern."
Yan Zi widened her eyes at her.
To hear such news suddenly was a considerable shock to her as well.
After saying this, Gu Shengyin stopped speaking and quietly looked at Yan Zi, seemingly waiting for her to collect her thoughts.
Yan Zi took a sip of water, trying hard to calm herself down.
Gu Shengyin looked at her: "If you have any questions, just ask."
Yan Zi felt a bit nervous, and her mind was still sowhat in turmoil.
She looked at Gu Shengyin and said sowhat uncertainly: "So, you say you don’t need friends, treat everyone indifferently, and are always solitary—it’s all because of this reason?"
Gu Shengyin paused in silence for a mont before saying: "Maybe at first, yes? Later on, I started to think being alone wasn’t so bad."
She looked at Yan Zi: "Would you like to hear a story from ?"
Yan Zi nodded.
She felt both nervous and a bit excited inside.
She was certain that given Jiang Lan’s character, she probably never told these things to anyone before.
Gu Shengyin began to tell a relatively short story:
"I don’t have any mories from birth, the mories I do have start from the orphanage, and the only one who was kind to was the old director of the orphanage."
"At that ti, I didn’t know I had such an ominous life pattern until when I was four, I fell ill, and the old director was taking out to see a doctor, and we had a car accident."
"The old director protected , I was unhard, but he died."
"The old director was the main support of our orphanage. When he was gone, everyone else blad . They started calling a jinx."
"At that ti, the na was basically just an insult."
"Later on, an aunt who brought als broke her hand, and a little girl I was close to sneaked out to play and fell into a manhole."
"From that ti on, I truly beca a person of misfortune."
When Gu Shengyin spoke of this, her expression was very calm, as if these things were events that happened to soone else.
Yet, as Yan Zi listened, a sour feeling rose in her heart.
She even wondered what it felt like for such a small child, all the people who liked her t with unfortunate events, and she was shunned by everyone?
Gu Shengyin didn’t pay attention to her expression but continued speaking:
"I stayed at that orphanage until I was seven when Master Ning Yuan finally found and took to the current organization."
When Gu Shengyin ntioned Master Ning Yuan, there was a slight warmth in her expression, and she seed much more lively.
Yan Zi had heard of Master Ning Yuan’s reputation, he was a venerable elder, but it was said he encountered so unexpected incident.
"Master Ning Yuan was the person who treated the best and accompanied the longest in this world."
"He taught to read, taught the spells of Buddhism, and even introduced to elders of the Taoist Sect..."
Yan Zi noticed that when Gu Shengyin spoke of these things, her deanor was bright, very different from her usual calm deanor.
This Master Ning Yuan must have brought Jiang Lan many beautiful mories, right?
