"Is it an important event?" Aurelia Shaw asked as she sat in the car.
Would her outfit steal the host's thunder at the party?
Mason Nightshade held Aurelia's hand, his lips curling up, "No."
He didn't care if others lost their lilight; his woman deserved to wear the best, only the finest could match his girl.
The car stopped by the shore.
Aurelia got out and looked at the massive ship before her, roughly three hundred ters long, slightly astounded.
It was her first ti seeing such a large ship.
Mason led her inside, explaining as they went, "This is our party venue."
"On a ship?"
"Yes." He nodded. Each year, the Campbell Family hosted their gathering on this ship, which had so history—it was the largest ship in Country Z."
"I thought the largest ship would be built by the military."
It was understandable why Aurelia thought this way. Like many, she tended to associate the biggest and most impressive things with the state or the army.
Mason chuckled softly, "Who gave you that misconception?"
Aurelia stuck out her tongue, "Fine, I admit I was wrong."
Mason pinched her nose; it seed he should enlighten her a bit about military knowledge, to not have her remain an army ignorant by marriage.
With that thought, an elderly female voice spoke up:
"Mason?"
Aurelia turned to see an elderly woman, around eighty, with snow-white hair dressed in a dignified, luxurious manner, clearly not an ordinary person.
Aurelia suddenly found her familiar but couldn't recall where they had t before.
Judging from the old woman's bearing and the people behind her, Aurelia guessed that the guests at this gathering were of high status.
She herself often attended such gatherings, given her status.
However, she had been sowhat rebellious since childhood, and Clara Philips knew of this, constantly nagging her to attend various gatherings.
The gatherings Clara ntioned were notably different.
Clara deliberately sent her to rowdy gatherings where n behaved inappropriately, and after attending once, Aurelia was disgusted.
After that, she never attended another gathering again.
anwhile, Clara took her own daughter to gatherings of high society, badmouthing Aurelia in front of the elite, and even arranged a good marriage for her daughter Jovana Shaw.
What a way to exploit her family's na, raising her into a wasted heiress, while elevating her daughter to the position of a proper young lady.
"And who might this be?" Aaron Campbell looked at Aurelia.
His gaze swept over the tightly clasped hands of the two, a hint of understanding flashed in his eyes as he discreetly glanced at his granddaughter behind him.
Originally, he intended to introduce his granddaughter to him, but now it seed…
Aaron Campbell didn't go online often or watch much TV, so naturally, he didn't recognize Aurelia.
Also, the people on television always appeared slightly different from reality.
No more private matters, ti to discuss business.
But…glancing back at Aurelia behind him, Aaron Campbell said, "Is there sothing we can talk about?"
Aurelia was not tactless. Hearing the old man's words, she imdiately understood and said, "I'll wait for you inside."
"All right." Mason nodded, still a bit uneasy about her on her own, "I'll co find you soon, don't wander off."
Pause, sternly reminding, "Don't drink."
"Got it."
