Chapter 1397: Chapter 124: The Feast (Part 1)

In the Unhuman Domain, there is no sun, nor are there any moons, but the transition between light and darkness is still as punctual as the alternation of day and night.

Bazby has never seen a true moon; he is a bloodsucker who has never left the Unhuman Domain to go to the real world.

Hence, he doesn’t know what the moon truly looks like.

Having listened to descriptions of the moon from those bloodsuckers who frequently travel between the real world and the Unhuman Domain, Bazby once also yearned for it.

He flew over the skies of the Farm Town, looking up at the darkened sky… the night sky without twinkling stars or moons is like a piece of black cloth.

At night in the Unhuman Domain, without lights, it is absolute darkness… there is no so-called moonlight and starlight, but relatively, any weak light on the ground will appear very obvious.

If there were enough, the earth might have its own galaxy… who said this?

He lowered his head, silently examining the Farm below. At the same time, the muscles on his back began to slowly surge… a pair of brand new bat wings began to open like a flower bud, bit by bit.

The newly born bat wings quickly went from being frail to tough, then they flapped vigorously—Bazby’s body rose a bit once more, then he flipped and glided, drawing a beautiful arc, landing in the Farm… the slayer was found.

“After this is over, take Mina to see the real world sometime?”

He suddenly had this thought.

Meila and David had smoothly entered the sewer—from the beginning, the design hadn’t been for any particular reason, possibly because of the Torrido Clan’s innate pursuit of aesthetics—this place was constructed very spaciously and plex… plex as if it were a maze.

The captured man and woman were blindfolded, their hands bound, then dragged forward, staggering along… Meila was at the back, already letting go of any little tricks they might try.

David didn’t have much interaction with Meila here—though he was intensely eager to know what kind of deal Meila had made.

He plans to ask indirectly about these things while not planning to reveal to Meila that he also has some mysterious possessions.

Meanwhile, he is unwilling to mention anything about dealings in front of the Inspection Group’s man and woman, so he can only remain relatively silent.

But silence doesn’t mean David plans to do nothing.

“Speaking of, if we could’ve used this sewer from the start, it might have been better for us,” he glanced back at Meila.

In fact, as the mander of this operation, David wasn’t even aware of the existence of this massive sewer… Meila, obviously, didn’t share this information.

Meila… Meila?

—David, have you ever thought about why all of our panions were captured this time… and why, just as we were about to act, at such a coincidence?

Suddenly, some conversations from the stables flashed through David’s mind.

The initial discussions concluded that the mysterious ally working as support within the Farm might have betrayed them, causing the failure of the operation… but thinking back now, if one couldn’t be certain of the Farm’s secret ally’s reliability, the Leader wouldn’t have approved this operation!

Historically, the allies in different Farms have never had issues, so why this time… could it be really that it’s not an internal problem, but something from among our own side?

Once thinking here, David’s breathing slowed a bit… among so many people, who’s most likely—who would it be?

Meila?

Her power, was it really obtained through dealings… or from somewhere else?

But if it were her, then she wouldn’t have had to save our group from the dungeon… David had no choice but to rule out Meila’s suspicion.

Four escaped amidst chaos this time, two already dead at the stables, shouldn’t be them. The other two were Meila and Martin from this Farm… Meila and Martin’s relationship was very close.

Meila seemed to have been stimulated by something, her personality greatly changed… while Martin died—David still didn’t know what exactly had happened.

“About the sewage system, I’ve already talked to Maru.” Meila explained without much thought, “After researching it, she ultimately didn’t implement using this sewer.”

“Maru…” A hint of peculiar color flashed in David’s eyes, he had a different gaze because of this name.

The woman who lent him a hand in his most desperate time.

—Hey, are you okay?

—If you can’t find a reason to live, would you try living for me?

The passage of time is here.

David took a deep breath, pushing aside the chaotic thoughts in his mind… he suddenly couldn’t find the root of his despair at the time and even vaguely felt amused at his own despair.

“Indeed.” Meila nodded, “Although this sewer connects in all directions, and it’s easy to access everywhere in the Farm, correspondingly, bloodsuckers also strictly investigate here… so, it’s even more unsuitable for hiding and activities.”

David didn’t speak, as he saw a kind of special facility like patrol markings… In such a confined place, it’s really too easy to expose any sound generated during actions.

But with this, David felt the bloodsuckers would search here much faster—it’s impossible they haven’t thought the people they want to capture might’ve hidden in this plex underground maze.

“You stay here for a moment, keep an eye on these two.” Meila suddenly said coldly, “Be careful, don’t leave… unless bloodsuckers are approaching, I’ll be back soon.”

“Where are you going?” David couldn’t help but frown.

But Meila didn’t respond, seemingly quite anxious, quickly climbing up an iron ladder beside them… David frowned again.

Perhaps he could quietly follow, see what she plans to do… but he couldn’t be sure whether Meila didn’t have other similar sensory powers.

After a moment of silence, David suddenly shifted his gaze to the two Inspection Group members in front of him… his gaze turned, and he walked to the man, asking in a deep voice, “What’s your name?”

He removed the cloth from the man’s mouth.

“Ro-Roy…” the man trembled as he uttered his name.

David glanced sideways at that moment and suddenly lowered his voice, “Take off your clothes… Immediately!”

Roy instantly froze; he vaguely realized what this guy who had taken him hostage intended — but under the threat of David’s sharp Tang Sword pressed against his neck, he had no choice but to ply.

Meila quickly crawled out from the manhole cover… She had to do so. The black flames burning on her cheeks were like a beast perpetually hungry, impossible to satisfy no matter what.

The flames began to harbor thoughts of making Meila devour her revenge targets… and these thoughts grew stronger.

The faster one gains power, the greater the flaws… These black flames perfectly illustrate this saying — Meila took a deep breath on the street, feeling the cool wind.

She felt the excitement of the black flames inside her… In front of her, there were numerous things it wished to devour — those bloodsuckers!

At this moment, what appeared before Meila was a magnificent huge palace architecture — the sight of the building unwittingly stirred up some unpleasant memories for Meila.

During her cultivation as a certain Persona in the Farm, she used to reside in this building… with several boys and girls of similar type.

The black flames on her cheeks suddenly intensified, and Meila walked directly into the palace — inside was brightly lit with shadows swaying, seemingly there were quite a few vampires staying.

Moreover, they were powerful vampires… seemingly not like those Patrol Team members.

For Meila, this should be a more dangerous place… but driven by the black flames, she resembled a tool used for revenge.

“Who!”

The two bloodsuckers acting as guards at the gate directly shouted to halt her — but the response was an eerie and irremovable black flame!

The flames shot directly into their mouths, then invaded their bodies, devouring them from the inside out!

Meila felt the power of the flames inside her expand significantly, her eyes naturally flickering with a murderous light… What she didn’t know was that this palace was currently the temporary residence of the mid-upper-class aristocrats of the entire Torrido Clan.

Within the palace, a certain Marquis who eagerly awaited the emergence of the Vampire Slayer also didn’t understand what kind of power this Vampire Slayer possessed.

Inside the palace, upper-class aristocrats were still discussing whether they should awaken the Clan Duke to punish Bazby and Bylegang.

“How about having a bowl of fresh blood salad first?” An upper-class aristocrat keen on food suggested, and quickly received the agreement of most aristocrats.

“Oh… Go open my private icebox.” A bold aristocrat stood up, spreading his arms, “I want to present to my dear friends a precious gift.”

His words quickly gathered the attention of most aristocrats.

He smiled slightly, “I think you’ll definitely like the taste of my collection. They’re those who were chilled on their eighteenth birthday in the Farm. Their beliefs crumbled, and their blood became extremely chaotic… but I’ve preserved them! Just a little thawing, and you can taste the blend of chaos and purity! I’ve heard it feels like humans drinking strong liquor! I don’t know what alcohol feels like for humans, but I can tell you, this feeling is truly marvelous!”

His speech was quickly met with enthusiastic applause… The aristocrats seemed to have instantly forgotten the topic they were discussing originally, instead discussing the benefits of this frozen eating method.

Their lives have always been like this… perpetually out of tune, devoid of any tension.

They’ve thoroughly degenerated into wastes who only know how to indulge… The Marquis of Guda coldly observed the majority of aristocrats around him — even those who were merely absent from the discussion were doing other things, entirely uninterested in his previous suggestion to awaken the Clan Duke.

The Marquis of Guda sneered, silently calculating the time, waiting for the “surprise” he arranged through his confidants to arrive.

It should be about time?

It’s about giving these indulgent wastes… a little shock.

This palace seemed very strange, a notion puzzling to Meila as she encountered personnel on patrol along the way; she also saw stationed guards.

Yes, they were there, but the problem was that both the patrolling vampires and the stationed vampires were unusually few… Could it be because they were all redeployed to capture her?

However, in any case, this greatly facilitated her actions.

She might not need to make too much of a fuss, easily using flames to devour these solitary vampires, bit by bit enhancing the power of the flames — Meila didn’t stop along the way, and the power of the black flames had already strengthened far beyond the previous fierce battle in the plaza.

Yet, it still showed no sign of stopping… merely slightly suppressing the hunger it transmitted to her.

Suddenly, she was aware of a group of uniformed vampires ing in unison ahead… This group of vampires wore Patrol Team uniforms, their expressions stern, movements neat, striding vigorously, appearing menacing.

However, what puzzled Meila was that these Patrol Team soldiers didn’t seem to e for her… But she could go after them.

If she could successfully devour all of these soldiers pletely, Meila had a vague feeling that the black flame inside her might undergo some new transformation.

She followed stealthily like a ghost… At this moment, the black flame obscured her with a veil-like black substance, isolating the sound of her movements… even her breath!

She was a true ghost.

Roy’s stomach churned… Because, after being forced to take off his Inspection Group uniform, he was again coerced by David into wearing David’s own foul-smelling clothes.

David now donned Roy’s uniform — even replaced his own Tang Sword with the Inspection Group’s weapon, openly hanging it at his waist.

He looked at his attire with satisfaction — just as the sound of footsteps faintly came from the sewer.

David’s gaze suddenly narrowed; Meila had said she would wait for him here… but she hadn’t returned yet!

Then…
