"Amon, is everything alright?"
I snapped out of it and glanced up, spotting Clentine.
She leaned against the tree with a slightly worried look.
Though she didn’t have to worry.
I’m fine.
Morr and I fought a lot.
I didn’t win once.
But I learned a lot by fighting Morr.
A lot.
And so, after nearly a week of fighting Morr, I have finally broken through the Grade 50 barrier and reached Master rank in my Black Lightning Manipulation Gift.

I need to catch up on Telekinesis, and then figure out a way to practice my Dragon Heart.
Though aside from that, I cleared my throat and nodded at Clentine.
"I’m fine. Are you all done?"
She smirked.
"Yep. Sorry it took so long."
"You know, taking a week to learn sothing as complex as that is pretty impressive."
I approached her and gave her a kiss on the forehead.
Although Clentine wore a cheeky smile now, she kissed on the lips, then grabbed by the hand, leading into Adam’s ho.
The whole hut reeked of alchemy ingredients, as well as the Rainbow Lotus Flower.
Glancing to the side, I noticed Adam, who was huddled in the corner.
It looked like he spent the whole week experinting.
Though I doubt it went really well, considering he didn’t have eyebrows anymore.
"He’s been like that for the last few days. I hope Aliyah cos back soon," Clentine said.
"Mhm. He’s definitely out of it."
I t her gaze.
"Did he also teach you how to fix ?"
Her grin widened.
Just then, she pushed back, causing to nearly stumble and fall.
I caught myself on the kitchen counter, and that was when Clentine placed her hand on my chest and began drawing circles with one of her fingers.
She placed the other finger over my lips, surprising greatly.
Clentine leaned over , and her clothes were loose, so I could see down her shirt.
A light pink bra, and an hourglass figure, which I couldn’t take my eyes off.
I never knew she was this assertive.
Especially when other people were around.
She leaned in to my ear, and her soft yet quiet voice soon rang out.
"Sorry. This is going to hurt."
What?
"What do you an—!?"
Before I could even finish speaking, Clentine’s eyes narrowed, and I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my chest.
It felt like my heart had stopped, and when I glanced down, I saw Clentine’s hand halfway into my chest, gripping my heart and channeling an abnormal amount of energy directly into it.
Why...?
Why would she do sothing like this?
Of all people...
Why her?
My mind raced, and the pain, as well as the disorientation, weren’t helping. I could barely think as the scorching pain traveled to every single part of my body, making it feel as though I was being stabbed by thousands of needles all over.
I felt like my consciousness was slipping away, and yet, no matter what she was doing to , I didn’t have it in to call upon Morr to push her away.
So I just took one last look at Clentine and closed my eyes, imagining the happy tis the two of us had.
But before I could continue to dwell on these depressing thoughts, Clentine placed her other finger on my forehead and channeled an enormous amount of energy.
In the next instant, all the pain, confusion, and even negative thoughts suddenly vanished. The ntal fog I had been feeling was gone too.
I felt at peace again.
Yet my mind was filled with clarity.
She wasn’t trying to kill just now.
But why did I automatically assu she was?
All she was doing was performing the treatnt she had been practicing for the whole week...
Feeling that sothing was wrong, I abruptly reopened my eyes, and only then did I notice the moonlight shining through the window, as well as the sll of the floral scent of the Rainbow Lotus Flower, which had grown even thicker than before.
I tried to stand up, but my body felt so sore that I couldn’t.
Instead, I toppled back into the makeshift bed on the floor and groaned in pain.
Just then, Adam crouched down beside with furrowed brows.
"Don’t move or try to channel your energy. Also, open your mouth."
"You’re not going to do sothing funny, are you?"
His brows furrowed further.
"Seems like your mind’s in the right place."
He pulled out a blue pill from his pocket and fiddled with it between his fingers.
"It’s an energy-stabilizing pill. If you don’t take it, you’re going to be out for at least a week. Since I’m busy, and you also have stuff to do, open your damn mouth."
I opened my mouth with a pout, and he tossed the energy pill inside. I quickly swallowed it, and it tasted as though I had eaten five mints at once.
But then again, seeing how my stomach was grumbling and my blood was moving faster out of my heart, I knew it was working.
It didn’t stop the headache, though.
"Where’s Clentine?"
"She’s still recovering outside."
"Recovering...?"
He nodded.
"She perford very difficult surgery on you and used up all her focus. Give her a few hours to recover."
Right...
The surgery.
"Was it successful?"
He paused for a mont, then handed a mirror.
The crimson horns were still on my forehead.
I felt a little bitter, but I respected Clentine for trying.
After all, she did her best, and I love her regardless.
Though, right as I was about to hand back the mirror, Adam grabbed a stick and poked my horns.
"Retract them."
The mont I heard that, a wave of relief washed over .
"Seriously..."
Knowing that I needed only my imagination, I imagined the horns retracting back into my forehead, and to my surprise, I felt them slowly slide back inside.
It felt a little strange, like it was scraping my skin. Even so, once the horns were fully down, I picked up the mirror.
And now, the horns were really gone.
There weren’t even any marks left.
"She did a good job, huh? I guess I’ll have to use that."
The ring I’ve been safekeeping.
I think it’s about ti I...
"Lay down."
Adam adjusted his monocle and pointed the stick at .
"There’s sothing I need to tell you."
I paused for a mont, and after my mind cleared up slightly, I nodded at him.
Noticing my composure, he nodded back at , dragged his chair over, and then sat down.
He stared at for a mont, then crossed his legs.
"For starters, I must apologize for deceiving you."
"You see... When I told you there was no fix for your mind problems, I was lying."
"In truth..."
