"Alright. Though, how do your Soul Knights even work? Do they drain energy to be active, or...?"
Clentine shook her head.
"They’re like my Soul Weapons. They basically appear with a set amount of energy, and once that energy runs out, I need to revive them. It costs a bit, but after the ritual, I’m fine."
Hmm... So in a way, she could just permanently leave them. As long as they don’t die, they’ll just keep defending her.
But I should really try to get her a stronger Soul Knight.
"..."
Maybe the headmaster?
"Amon~? Are you coming?"
"Yep. Let’s go."

After carefully leaving the city, instead of flying over the ocean, we dived in and began swimming.
Since Clentine was still pissed at , we didn’t talk much. Even so, we reached her parents’ ho after just a few hours of flying, and unlike before, the ravine seed much more hidden than before.
Clearly, the sirens realized that leaving it open like before wasn’t very safe.
"We won’t be here long, okay? I only want to check up on my parents and warn them about the future."
I nodded.
"Of course. Mind if I talk to your father, though?"
"Uh, okay? You don’t have to ask about these things, though."
With that in mind, we approached her parents’ ho and knocked on the door. In just a few seconds, the door opened, and Clentine’s beautiful mother greeted us.
"Oh? I didn’t think you two would be back here so soon. I didn’t even prepare the dinner table yet. Could you co back later?"
"Mom..."
"Haha. Sorry, dear. Co in. You too, Amon."
I smiled at her kindness and stepped inside. The house was much tidier than before. Also, the picture fras were more organized, and there were even faint lights under them, lighting them up even in the darkness.
"Clentine, dear, could you help set the table? I can heat up a few leftovers from this morning."
Clentine let out a sigh.
"Okay, but we won’t be staying for long. We need to get moving."
Then she glanced over at .
"Can you call my dad? It looks like he’s in his office. I’ll tell Mom about the demons."
Seeing the confused look on her mother’s face, I didn’t want to stick around for the conversation. Instead, I quickly went up the stairs and arrived in front of her father’s office.
I knocked on the door a couple of tis, and then slightly opened it.
Her father didn’t seem to notice my presence at first. Heck, he didn’t even respond to the knocking on the door. Instead, he was busy with the paperwork he was doing.
Upon closer look, I realized that he was reviewing so locations on the Elodrenia continent. More specifically, houses.
"Looking to move out?" I asked.
He finally looked up.
"Not really. I was just trying to take inspiration."
"Oh? You an building hos like those down here?"
"Sothing like that. Though, it’s proving to be a bit more difficult than I had imagined."
Well, obviously.
Houses aren’t made to be livable underwater.
Either way, I respected him for trying to better the sirens’ living conditions.
"Is it ti for dinner?" he asked.
"Almost. They’re setting up the table right now."
He nodded, then stood up, closed his book, and prepared to leave. Just then, I closed the door and narrowed my eyes at him.
"Wanna take a look at sothing?"
A single bead of sweat ran down her father’s forehead.
"It’s nothing lewd, is it?"
What’s with this family and socializing?
Why would I ever do anything lewd here?
"Nope. Rather, it’s about our conversation last ti."
With those words, I reached into my dinsional ring, and after carefully making sure not to grab Clentine’s bra, I took out the two dragon bone rings before finally placing them on the table.
They were still in the box, so he didn’t think much of it at first.
His expression remained the sa when he opened it, as at first glance, these rings seed like nothing special. All they had going for them was a neat glow, intricate patterns, and a surprisingly smooth and sturdy texture.
"You know... I rember telling you to go all out, but I’ll be damned. I never expected you to do it."
He nodded at with a grin.
"Was it from your rib? Or maybe bone marrow? Hmm, give another chance to guess."
Oh.
Never mind.
He doesn’t get it at all.
I approached the rings and picked one up.
Then, while staring into his eyes, I said:
"These are rings made from the bones of a dead dragon."
"..."
Evidently, his expression told that he thought of my words as nothing but a bunch of bullshit.
And honestly? I don’t bla him.
Dragons have been extinct for so long, even finding a single fragnt of their bones would be impossible.
Impossible for everyone but yours truly, of course.
"I-Is this real dragon bone?"
"It is."
He inspected it even more intensely. He even zood in with his monocle, and then sat down, feeling as though his legs were going to give out.
"Jeez... I can’t tell it apart from a leviathan’s bone, but I doubt you’re a liar. I rember reading sothing about dragon bones being really good enchanting materials too. Too bad there aren’t many legit enchanters nowadays."
Oh?
Clentine had the enchanting book, and she had already morized it fully.
I hadn’t, though.
But I did plan on learning it.
...Is this the final nail in the coffin?
Enchanting the rings with sothing that would benefit us both. Maybe magic that would allow us to sense each other from afar, or a type of spell that could let us share energy?
The possibilities were sort of limitless.
And aside from that, all I need now is to find the right spot to propose.
I should hurry up.
Otherwise, the demon descent is going to make way too busy to do anything.
Anyhow...
"As awkward as I feel like it is saying this..."
"Do I have your blessing to marry Clentine?"
