Sparks of all sorts of different colors flickered throughout the room from our clash, and yet I was only using one hand.
If anything, I don’t think I even moved from my spot.
Whereas Kevin was fiercely trying to push forward but failing miserably.
He was strong for his Grade.
Hell... I was sure he would be able to take down a Grade 30 if he caught them off guard.
But as it stands, he doesn’t have enough power at the mont.
At least, not enough to make his swordsmanship viable in actual combat.
Hehe.
I guess this is what Aliyah ant when I showed her his swordsmanship.
It really was pathetic.
Bringing my blade back, I abruptly raised it and slamd it down toward Kevin. He barely had any ti to react, as it took all of his power and focus just to raise his katana and block mine from striking him.
But I had what he didn’t.
Sword Heart and Sword Intent.
And with the overwhelming power difference, the mont my blade collided with his, a loud crack resounded. My blade pierced through his, shattering it in two. Yet it didn’t stop there as it continued downward before suddenly shifting and cutting off the tip of Kevin’s ear.
Even though his blood began to spurt everywhere, all Kevin could focus on was my cold expression, as well as a fragnt of his shattered katana spinning in the air.
Ti seed to slow down considerably as many thoughts swirled around inside his mind.
Yet when the fragnt of his shattered katana finally landed and stuck into the wooden floor, Kevin was forced to face his sha head-on.
That sha was obviously his effortless defeat at my hands.
"You’ve gotten a little stronger, I’ll give you that. Your swordsmanship also improved. But then again, I haven’t co here to fight you."
I glanced past him toward the rest of the class.
"Isabelle and lina. You too, Kevin. et over at Evelyn’s place after your classes are finished. It’s about the book I entrusted to you all."
The mont I said that, their eyes widened.
Isabelle in particular seed to be the most surprised. But despite that, she was the first to nod.
"Will do."
lina didn’t seem very convinced but nodded as well.
In the end, Kevin continued staring at . I genuinely thought I broke him or sothing, but if the won were coming along, he’d likely co as well.
With that, I glanced at the others.
There was Natasha, the elf girl I had accidentally saved back in the slums. Matthew Nikolaos too, who was pretty strong...
But I didn’t really feel like they would make much of a difference.
So the invite wasn’t really extended to them.
Anyways...
"We’ll be waiting over there. See you in a bit."
Right as I was about to leave, I felt soone touch my shoulder.
I thought it was Clentine, since the hand was so slender.
But when I turned around, I realized it was the female instructor who was in charge of the special class. She was practically shaking in her boots, and it looked like she would pass out at any mont.
And clearly, when Clentine saw another woman touch my shoulder, she didn’t hesitate to step in for herself.
"What do you think you’re doing?"
"I-I... You two n-need to... you need to."
Alright.
This isn’t going anywhere.
Just then, Clentine approached the instructor, causing her to go flying through the blackboard and into the next room over.
Then, Clentine grabbed my hand with a pout, blew a hole into the wall, and dragged through it.
As we stood in the academy’s courtyard, she said,
"I should’ve just blown her arm off."
"Haha..."
My lovely but sowhat bloodthirsty yandere.
I wanted to pat her head, but since she kept on mumbling about that woman who touched , I felt like irritating her right now would be like trying to talk to a chihuahua.
On the bright side, at least Clentine was a beautiful chihuahua.
I tapped her on the cheek, and in the next instant, the two of us reappeared in front of one of Evelyn’s gambling houses. It was the sa place where I first t her.
Thankfully, she’s still in the city. Judging by how empty the casino was and how the doors were slightly open, she was expecting us.
She actually listened to the advice I gave her.
We stepped in through the door and walked up the stairs. When we reached her office, Evelyn was already standing outside, leaning against the doorfra and smoking a cigarette.
She looked particularly classy. Hell, I should get so proper clothes too one of these days.
Still...
"Hello, Evelyn."
A faint smile appeared on her face. She put out the cigarette and then gestured for Clentine and to follow her inside.
So that was what we did.
Her office slled like lavender. I thought she had so kind of purifier sowhere. Instead, there were so tarot cards on the table, each one infused with lavender.
It was kind of like the air fresheners you’d put on your car’s front mirror.
Though, seeing as how she had tens of packs of those tarot cards, I’d bet she’s been switching the cards quite frequently.
"It’s been a while since I last saw you, Amon. Had you not made so rich, I wouldn’t dare be near you. But now that you’re here, I take it you want a progress report?"
I smiled at Evelyn’s words and sat down on the sofa.
Clentine, however, spotted the lone bean bag in the corner of the room and couldn’t resist jumping straight into it. A look of ecstasy appeared across her face, until finally, she sank completely, to where only her legs were slightly visible.
"Err... I’m glad Clentine Noir enjoys my new side investnt. You two are what now?" Evelyn asked.
"We’re a couple."
Her eyes widened.
"That’s a little unexpected..."
I used my Blood Sight to glance at her heart and knew she was lying.
For a literal prophet, she probably even knew what we did in Clentine’s parents’ ho.
Though... I really hope she didn’t.
Anyhow, I got comfortable on the sofa and then t her gaze.
"Tell everything."
