Now reading: Chapter 229: The Gala [ 16 ] from Transmigrated As The Final Villain of a Death Game, a Fantasy novel by Lukas142.

I froze for a mont, but once I realized what was happening, and just who exactly it was that stabbed the emperor, the final pieces of the puzzle clicked into place.

This was a show from the very start, a ruse rather.

But it wasn’t for .

It was for Clentine.

William and the others paraded Clentine in front of the Evangelists.

...Spectators.

William ntioned spectators.

"..."

Parading a top tier Soul Manipulator in front of the people who prided themselves on Soul techniques and any type of soul manipulation.

The sa people who were now standing in the middle of nowhere and watching as soone with basically no experience triumphed over soone so powerful with a single needle... the sa needle that was supposed to be in their hands a few months ago.

As for the man down there who had just stabbed the emperor, he was no ordinary Evangelist.

He wasn’t a Reaper, and he was much stronger than an Inquisitor. In fact, he was way above Grade 60, that much I was sure of.

And since that was the case... he was either so kind of bishop or a direct Apostle of the Evangelist themselves.

"Clentine, we have to leave. Now."

"But the emperor?"

I glanced down, and one good look at the emperor’s body with my Blood Sight told all I needed to know.

All his blood was boiled, and practically not a single drop was left. Not only that, his heart was pierced clean through, and by how lifeless his expression was, I didn’t need to be Clentine to know that his soul was likely sucked up as well.

Thankfully, Kevin and the others weren’t idiots. They knew who had been targeted, and despite the emperor’s death, they all acted quickly, saving their own skin and also grabbing the rest of the imperials before running away.

Since they weren’t actually the targets of that Apostle down there, they weren’t even given a second glance. Instead, the Apostle tossed the emperor’s body into the sky and then, without a hint of remorse, slashed it in two.

Yet the slash continued onward, reaching our location in an instant. I stepped in imdiately, and despite my blade being broken, I still had my Clorafite Weapons to rely on, which I used to redirect the invisible attack to the best of my ability.

But even then, that attack seed to pass through my Clorafite Weapons and strike head-on, causing my whole body to abruptly burn up in pain. Only then did I realize that a large gash had appeared from my neck all the way down to my abdon, spurting blood.

Along with the blood, there were black and white colors, belonging to my energy that shouldn’t even be visible in the first place.

And the mont Clentine noticed that, as well as my earlier seriousness, she finally stopped hesitating. A soft lull resounded through the battlefield, followed by my injury quickly healing and the energy that escaped my body returning.

Though that seed to only be temporary, as the Apostle burst forward into the sky and put all of its focus on its next attack, as if dead set on killing .

But after my Telekinesis had gone through such drastic upgrades recently, I was by no ans a pushover.

With every bit of energy that I had left, and had no chance to use against Alexius, I abruptly used Atomic Destabilization on the Apostle in front of . The Telekinesis’s effect was instant, causing the Apostle’s arms to just fall off and turn to dust, followed by its feet, and lastly its neck.

The attack was really violent and powerful, but at the sa ti it put such a burden on my body that I felt like a cramp had begun spreading all throughout.

But... I couldn’t sll the floral scent, the scent that indicated that an Evangelist was dead.

Which ant that despite my attack, he was alive and kicking.

Yet the mont that it took for him to regenerate was enough for Clentine to make a run for it. She covered her path in Soul Weapons and her Soul Army, making sure that no matter who chased us, they’d have to go through her array first.

And clearly... judging by how careful she was being in erasing her path by disturbing the energy paths she was leaving behind, I knew she was panicking nearly as much as I was.

However, the injury I had inflicted on that Apostle was serious, and so by the ti it actually regenerated, we were already half the continent away. Not to ntion, once I got a bit of my energy back, I quickly cast a strand of my Black Lightning over to the furthest place I could, which just so happened to be the Skyward Continent.

And in the next instant, I teleported both of us over there.

My vision shifted, and because of how sudden it was, Clentine had no ti to adjust, so she crashed straight into a tree, dropping aside in the process.

As I skidded across the grass, I eventually stopped against a boulder.

Or rather, I stopped against Morr, who chid in at the very last mont to catch . For so reason, it looked battered and bruised. If anything... I thought it hadn’t done much, but for it to look this way, I guess the mont the Apostle appeared, Morr did sothing special to keep alive.

I thanked it inwardly, and then groaned as the pain finally set in.

"Ugh..."

It didn’t look like I left any traces, so that’s that. As for whoever’s on that continent, I was sure they’d have enough manpower to take care of the rest.

Anyways...

This really hurts.

I glanced down slightly, and once I saw my hand split open and bone sticking out, a chill ran down my spine as I quickly looked away.

Yet the direction I looked in was coincidentally the sa direction where Clentine had landed. Once she stood up, she quickly ran over to , crouched down beside , and lastly...

"Amon... Are you okay?"
