"Oh? Is that the power couple? Hahaha... Hello there, Clentine. I’m happy you’re looking all fine and dandy after our last encounter," Kai said.
Clentine rolled her eyes. "You’re still so annoying."
"Ah? Well, sorry, I guess. Speaking of, et my partner, her na’s Lana."
He pulled Lana from the side, and seeing how he was holding her by the waist, I guessed they made so ’progress’ in the last 48 hours.
Though, neither I nor Clentine cared at all. If anything, Lana seed pretty much fed up with it too, as she just pinched Kai’s hand and walked away.
Seeing that, Kai sniffled slightly, then puffed out his chest.
"No matter. I can do everything by myself anyway."
What a weirdo.
Despite that, I pulled Clentine forward, and once we were in the middle of all the saviors, I gave each one of them a quick look in their eyes before suddenly turning into Black Lightning and reappearing in the sky just a few hundred ters above the chasm.
As I glanced back at the giant cliff where there were four ant-sized people, they seed to take my actions as a challenge, as in the next instant, their figures vanished, and they reappeared beside us just a mont after.
But challenge or not, we were all in the sa boat at the mont, so we simply put aside our differences and glided down. Eventually, we landed at the entrance of the chasm, which was coincidentally decorated with a nice wooden staircase leading down into the darkness.
"Do I use any of my abilities here, or...?" Clentine asked.
I shrugged. "Maybe hold off? Actually, one sec."
I turned toward Lana, who was right beside Kai.
"They said you’re a necromancer, right? Can you send anyone down there to scout for us?"
Just as she was about to reply, Kai chid in:
"I didn’t think the great Amon would be such a pussy. If you’re afraid of the darkness, why don’t I just hand you a lantern?"
"Did you agree to this just so you could buzz in my ear like so mosquito?" I retorted.
He let out a chuckle.
"Rather than that, I ca here to kill so humans. And now I have to stand here being bored because soone wants to play cautious hero, especially when every single one of us here knows how to feel energy in a several hundred-kiloter radius."
Then, he narrowed his eyes.
"What I’m saying is that you’re trying way too hard for nothing. We’re not weaklings, and we don’t need soone trying to act as so team-building leader. So if you’re not going down, fuck off and let through."
Hearing that, my brows twitched. On the other hand, I had to hold Clentine back from sending a needle straight through the center of Kai’s forehead, since she hated him more than I did.
Still... we held back, and instead of giving him the lead, I decided to just place a kiss on Clentine’s cheek and head down the staircase.
The rest of the saviors followed too, but they weren’t very talkative. Only Kai was chatting, but no one really replied to him, since he was just talking about himself, his wings, and the size of Lana’s breasts.
Well, they were a rowdy bunch, I’ll give them that.
Though, as we arrived at one of the deepest points of the chasm, where there was nothing but a wall in front of us, and no other way around it, I went ahead and placed my hand on the wall.
In the next instant, I used my Telekinesis to push it forward, and to my surprise, dozens of arrows suddenly descended from above us. They had poisonous tips, and they might be able to pierce us if they were to hit us.
But...
"Damn. Is this one of your abilities? Why are the arrows going down so slow?" Kai said, then stepped forward and snatched one of the arrows from the air.
The arrows were indeed moving very slowly, and that was because of my Telekinetic Control Field. Since it detected danger, it slowed every one of those arrows down to the point where I didn’t even need to humor them.
Instead, I just continued pushing the wall back, dodging every single projectile trap, and even ground traps by just simply using my Telekinesis. It was really easy, and so after just a few minutes, the wall finally didn’t move any further.
As I glanced to my left, I spotted an opening. My Mystic Eyes picked up on both the trail of energy that I could absorb and also the trail of energy I could follow. Since I trusted Clentine to have my back, I tracked the energy and realized there was so kind of miniature maze up ahead.
But now I knew the way, and right as I was about to instruct the others, Sylas stepped up, brandishing his butcher knife proudly.
Before I could even say a single word, he suddenly slashed the air.
Blood spurted out of nowhere, covering the whole wall in red, followed by a large crack violently expanding in front of us, creating a large entrance that led through the cave and into a certain cave opening where there were several people peeking through.
I was surprised by Sylas’s power, but I did know he was powerful. So putting that aside, I gulped and once again decided to take the lead. Clentine and I crossed the distance in an instant, and when we arrived in front of that cave, we were t with two people tossing their spears at us.
The spears flew really fast, and judging by how the spears hod onto us, these guys had so kind of homing Gifts.
Despite that, it only took a single thought for to turn the spears to dust, and another thought for to grip the necks of the people who tossed those spears and lift them into the air.
Then, with a slight smile, I brought the two closer and began to question them.
