"Who are you two?" I asked patiently, then eased up on their necks slightly, allowing them to breathe and speak.

"Cough! Fuck off, you demon bastard!"

Is it because of my horns?

Well, on the flip side, Clentine had a better way of convincing them.

"Speak your mind," she said as a small amount of her energy enveloped both n, causing their eyes to turn cloudy and their cheeks to flush red.

"I... I, uh..."

"We’re the scouts, madam," one of the two said.

I nodded at that one, and realizing how the other was completely useless, I snapped his neck and tossed him aside. The remaining one was too chard to even realize his friend had died.

"Scouts for the people further ahead, right? Tell us everything about your little group," I said.

The man paused for a mont, then replied:

"We’re... We want to free the continents from the demons."

"Mhm. And you’re doing this how, exactly? By massacring innocent humans?"

Just then, Kai chid in as well:

"For a man of your stature and position, you sure know a lot. It almost makes think that everything you just said is a load of bullshit."

I rolled my eyes. "Why are you butting in? He’s literally answered one question."

"Yeah, and one question is enough for to realize he’s rehearsed this hundreds of tis."

Clentine frowned. "Kai, back off and wait."

Yet Kai didn’t do that. Instead, he approached the man, grabbed him by the neck, and tried to lift him. Except I hadn’t removed my Telekinesis control, so the mont Kai tightened his grip around the man’s neck, he pushed my Telekinesis deeper, crushing the man’s throat and causing him to silently and slowly suffocate.

I stared at the man for a brief mont, then narrowed my eyes at Kai.

"You’re such a shitty teammate."

"Says you. Whatever. Let’s just go deeper."

With that, Kai and the rest of the saviors went ahead. In the anti, Clentine and I stayed behind. She slightly tugged at my sleeve, and then leaned in, whispering in my ear.

"Should we just get rid of them now...?"

I paused.

"We can’t. They’re too strong, and also, the retainers are watching us like hawks. Let’s be friendly with them for now, Clentine."

I patted her head gently, and then after interlocking my fingers with hers, I followed after the rest of the group.

Frankly, Kai and the others didn’t have much of a filter, nor did they have enough patience to listen to anyone. In fact, every ti they ran into a scout, Kai would kill them. Sotis, even Lana would chi in.

Except Lana’s abilities were a little strange. I had heard that she was so sort of necromancer witch, and to my surprise, she had a similar thin needle as Clentine. She just stuck a needle into a corpse, and that corpse would then reanimate.

It was a weird ability... and I kind of wanted to get my hands on it just in case. Still, I held my tongue for the mont and passed over the tens of corpses belonging to the scouts, until finally, we reached the lowest point of the chasm, as well as the main area where everyone else was gathered.

It was a giant cave of sorts, lit up by multi-colored crystals and supported by iron beams that looked crudely constructed. More importantly though, there were hundreds of houses built along the walls, and a whole ecosystem made by other humans here.

Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if these guys thought that they’d never be found, because even as the six of us stood on the outskirts of their little city, the humans hadn’t even realized we arrived.

Not to ntion, the few that noticed didn’t even react to our presence. Instead, they continued either walking around aimlessly or simply went back to their hos.

"Now this is the gold mine I had been looking for," Kai said.

Everyone turned to him, so he added:

"People like this are innocently honest. It’s very... soothing to talk to them. Look at this."

Without waiting a single mont, Kai vanished. Just a second later, he reappeared, holding so kind of burly man by the neck before suddenly tossing him onto the floor in front of us.

"Cough... Who the hell are you?" The man narrowed his eyes at every one of us. "Did you co here to cause trouble?"

"Yes, so answer our questions honestly, or we’ll do very bad things to you and the rest of the people here~," Kai said.

I didn’t butt in, and neither did the rest of us. Even Clentine stood still, since despite everyone looking so innocent and human, they dealt in way too many cris to be excused.

"For starters, why do you have a portal to the Demon Realm here? Now, for second starters, why exactly are you people targeting your own kind? I’d understand if it was so stupid grudge, but co on. The idiots at the front said your goal is to exterminate demons, but you’ve killed ten tis as many humans as demons. Make it make sense for , would you?" Kai insisted.

The man who had been trying to keep his composure finally folded, realizing that Kai and the rest of us knew about their little group. For that reason alone, the man suddenly reached into his dinsional ring, pulled out a dagger, and tried to stab himself right through the throat.

But before he could do that, I whisked the dagger away with my Telekinesis, and then tapped his nose with the dagger’s hilt. Even though it was a light tap...

CRACK!

His nose shattered in an instant, and tears involuntarily began to fall, coupled with the pool of blood that didn’t seem to stop. He tried to scream his lungs out and alert the others, but once again, I used my Telekinesis to prevent that.

And finally, once he had exhausted all of his energy just trying to scream, I gently squeezed Clentine’s hand, giving her the go-ahead to charm this man, since unlike the scouts, he seed to know a little more than he let on.
