Once we were just slightly under the clouds, we stopped.
"Are you going to just bombard them with Black Lightning?" Clentine asked.
I humd. "Maybe? It’d be the fastest way to get rid of them."
"Well, yes. But shouldn’t we go down there and check up on them? I an, we already know that they’re evil, but perhaps there’s sothing down there that could give us a little more insight?"
Clentine paused for a mont, then added:
"Maybe sothing like the identities of the Demon Dukes that are helping them?"
"Hmm..."
She had a point. Obviously, I could just kill them right away, but if I could go down there and get so info... that’d be just as good, since it would automatically make a little bit better than the other saviors.
And since these demons were so adamant about reputation and whatnot, I might just be able to beco their leader.
"Alright. Let’s go down then."
Clentine and I glanced over at the saviors before swiftly vanishing. We reappeared in front of the fortress’s gates, and as expected, we imdiately ran into one warrior guarding the gates.
"Halt! Who are you people, and how did you get here? No one should be allowed through."
Right...
It wasn’t a very strong warrior, rely being Grade 40 or so. But he did have an interesting pair of armor, crafted of the best materials that would normally be very protective.
But the issue was, it wasn’t Clorafite, which also ant it wasn’t unbreakable.
And when our eyes locked with the guard, I just smiled at him and willed out a strand of my energy to wrap around his armor, and then increased its weight several thousandfold, causing him to slump to the ground and form a small crater.
I stepped forward, prepared to call out. But sadly, I didn’t realize that this guy was even weaker than I thought, since instead of using his own energy to fight back against the weight difference, he just panicked and got crushed in his own armor.
I pitied him, and with Clentine by my side, I stepped over his body, approached the main gate, and with a single tap, I shattered the steel gates of the fortress, sending miniature fragnts of steel to bombard the inside of the fortress. Several humans died instantly, while the ones that had better awareness managed to back away in ti or hide behind sothing.
Once the debris settled, they stepped out from their buildings and looked in my direction. Right away, I felt the powerful presence of at least two Grade 60s lock onto , their killing intent flaring wildly.
Yet in the grand sche of things... I could most likely instantly kill a Grade 60 at the mont, especially if I were to infuse Divine Energy into my Telekinesis.
Anyhow...
"As a representative of the demons, I’ve co here to offer one or two of you an opportunity," I said, bearing through the disgust and glancing over them.
"Whoever steps up and gives the nas of every single Demon Duke involved, I will spare and let you go back to the mortal realm. I’ll also need soone to spread the word, so if you’re feeling up to it, co. If not, then die where you stand," I added.
With that, I just waited for a brief mont, letting my words sink into their minds. But almost as if that wasn’t enough intimidation, Clentine followed my lead.
"Every single one of you in that chasm has already been massacred. This fortress is also on the brink of being wiped off the map. So please, don’t take his words lightly, or you’ll find out just why exactly he’s the representative of the demons."
And just a second later, the first person ran up to us. It wasn’t so fancy, proud warrior, and instead, it was a black-haired woman with scars all over her neck. Not to ntion, she had a harp strapped to her back, which ant she was a bard.
"Does it count if they captured here?"
I raised a brow. "Do you want to leave?"
"No shit. Kill all these bastards for all I care, and in exchange, I’ll spread the word about what they did to and how you dealt with them," she replied.
Clentine and I exchanged a glance, then nodded at the woman.
"Alright, you’re the first one then."
She exhaled a relieved breath and stepped behind us. After that, silence once again ensued as no one dared to step up or say a word. Or rather, that was until an old man with a cane stepped out.
But despite his appearance...
"Lord Swordmaster!"
"We’re saved... He’ll kill these filthy demons!"
"Kill all the demons!"
He seed pretty damn powerful.
Out of all the Grade 60s I felt, he was definitely on the higher end, and if this was a few weeks ago, I would’ve definitely felt threatened. But now...? Well, not really.
After all, not only did my power increase significantly, but I was also not alone.
"It looks like we’ll be getting you a new Soul Knight," I said.
Clentine let out a chuckle.
"Looks like it. Do you want to do the honors, or should I?"
"I broke my sword, so I’ll just play around for a bit. Step in if you want," I replied, and after cracking my neck, I stepped forward.
The crowd ford a large circle around the four of us, and when I got near the man being called Lord Swordmaster, cheers once again resounded, inciting him to kill right away.
But the old man knew better.
"I feel like I’ve seen you before."
I shrugged. "Maybe. I do have a pretty big bounty on the outside."
The old man let out a chuckle.
"Amon Everness. I rember you now. Once my n heard that you were alive, I told them to recruit you. Sadly, it seems like the demons got to you first."
"Mm... I wouldn’t have joined anyway."
I entered a fighting stance.
"Why don’t you show how that Sword Aura of yours works?"
