It took only a few minutes for to bring a house back for them, and as it so happened, it was a literal mansion. I placed it down on his mountain as he asked, but whether the foundation would hold and it wouldn’t fall to shit was entirely up to them.
As for , I took my leave right after. Eric was staring at for quite so ti, but I didn’t bother with him, since I knew whatever offer I gave him, whether it was to accompany or receive training from , he’d refuse it.
After all, he clung to his sister quite dearly. I respected that more than anything, which is why I soon reached the clouds and began leisurely flying around.
With just my eyes, I couldn’t see anything below . However, with the help of my Mystic Eyes, I was able to scan every nook and cranny that had energy. I managed to spot quite a decent amount of powerful people on the Western continent.
Most of them were either fighting soone or just hanging around in the center of cities or villages, attracting attention and benefiting from it. Once again, I didn’t really care much about stuff like this, since in the end, these idiots still had enough decency to fight off the demons.
And speaking of demons, they were literally everywhere. The skies were filled with gargoyles, and most of the cities were infested with demons. Rituals were being perford, and the weaker demons spent their ti eating so humans alive.
I felt bad for them, I really did. But aside from the gargoyles, who I had to kill to not be seen, the humans and all the other beings down below didn’t interest that much. I want a world that wasn’t completely overrun by demons, sure... But I’m not a savior.
I had no intention of just running around and killing demons wherever I could. Why should I? There are plenty of other humans who could do the job.
Clicking my tongue in annoyance, I continued to scan the Western continent. It took nearly five hours, and while I didn’t find Clentine, I managed to track down Vincent.
He was now at the northern end of the continent. Surprisingly, he found a safe spot between the human side and the demon side that had already been controlled, so now he was just living safely.
Or that was what I wanted to say, anyway, until I spotted several thousand demons underneath Vincent’s ho. It was almost like they had so sort of hidden base under there, and from the looks of things, they had already found out that Vincent lived there.
It was only a matter of ti before they struck him down and killed his demon daughter. Speaking of... From what Kai told , Vincent was being selfish. His daughter was born a demon, and he wanted to turn her into a human.
I wonder... Does he still feel the sa, even after everything that happened?
I felt like leaving, but instead, I descended, landing in front of his door. He lived in a shabby wooden hut, much like what Adam used to have before I destroyed it. Except this wooden hut in particular was ard with several dozen traps.
If I so much as put my hand on the doorknob, I’d be blasted by toxic arrows from below. It was pretty well made, but then again, I wasn’t so ordinary intruder.
I was practically a Divine Beast.
With that in mind, I snapped my finger, tearing the door down in front of and revealing the living room. As it so happened, Vincent was in the garden at the mont, and due to my lack of energy, he wasn’t able to sense my presence.
So even as I tore down his door without sound and made my way inside, he didn’t react. Except what I didn’t expect was to find his daughter relaxing in the kitchen. She was crying, but only because she was cutting up onions.
And unlike Vincent, she glanced to the side and spotted staring right at her.
Her hand froze, and her expression paled. She opened her mouth, prepared to yell out to Vincent, but I practically nailed it shut with my Telekinesis. I froze her body and just watched as she shivered in place for a brief mont before finally sitting down on the chair beside her.
Honestly...
I wasn’t much of a parenting counsellor, nor was I soone who would typically care about such quarrels. But this situation in particular pissed off.
"Do you want to escape?" I asked.
Her brows twitched slightly, yet she couldn’t speak just yet.
"Your father seems to be a kind person on the outside, but everything that he’s been doing so far is to turn you into a human, is it not? What makes you think it’s possible to turn a biological demon into a human? That just doesn’t make sense to ."
I sighed.
"For all I know, he’s planning to get you so sort of body, and through dark magic, he’d transfer your consciousness into it. Obviously, I’m not trying to scare you, but I’m just curious if you know just what you’re getting into."
I’d hate it if soone did this to .
But even then, it was still her choice, which was why I went ahead and released my Telekinesis, allowing her to move freely. Due to her panic though, she dropped her knife. The mont it clanked onto the ground, a loud echo reverberated through the ho, reaching the outside and perking up Vincent’s ears.
He rushed inside his ho imdiately, wielding an axe. The mont he spotted , his expression turned cold, and without even an ounce of hesitation, he rushed up to and swung his axe down, attempting to cleave my head right off my neck.
But the mont his axe touched my neck, it disintegrated into dust. Then, before he could even react, I let out a sigh and grabbed him by the neck, lifting him up like a ragdoll in front of his daughter.
