Jenna glanced over at , her expression practically asking if that was okay. Obviously, I wasn’t so masochist who wouldn’t let soone shower, so I just gave her a pat on the head and nodded.

"Feel free to do whatever you want. Stick closely to Clentine too. Humans aren’t very fond of demons, and I doubt that’ll ever change. So until then, watch yourself, Jenna. As for your wings... I’m glad you managed to retract them."

Frankly, I had my worries about what would happen if too many people saw, but by the looks of things, whenever she was nervous or anxious, her wings would just disappear by themselves. It was kind of cute in a way, though I’d much prefer if she could do it subconsciously.

Regardless of that, she listened to well, and soon enough, the three of us entered the city, ignoring the rubble as well as the fallen Kevin. He should be fine soon enough, right after his spine and the rest of his bones regenerate.

Honestly, I might just need to co back later and scoop him up, but for the ti being, I wanted to enjoy my ti with the person I loved. So while Jenna walked ahead of us and inspected everything with a lot of curiosity, I moved closer to Clentine, then took off my hood and changed my hair back to normal.

Not to ntion, I also made sure to retract my horn, not wanting any more attention than I had already gathered.

And of course...

"I missed you."

"I missed you too," she replied.

She seed a little distant, so I went ahead and interlocked my fingers with hers. That seed to cheer her up a little, but I could still tell that sothing was bothering her.

"What’s up?" I asked.

Clentine remained silent for a mont, then said:

"I thought you were dead."

Her voice cracked slightly, and I realized now, more than ever, that I had worried her beyond belief.

"I’m sorry."

"Sorry for what? There’s nothing to be sorry about. It’s not your fault. It’s none of our faults. It’s just... everything happened so fast. We got trapped, then by the ti we woke up, we were already fighting for our lives. Morr... he was the one who dealt the final blows to us."

The mont she uttered those words, she reached into her dinsional ring, pulling out a ring that we had found back in the catacombs, the sa ring that would save her life once whenever she’s in trouble.

And as it so happens, that very sa ring was now shattered and split into several different pieces.

"Had it not been for this, I would’ve been dead," she said. "When Morr struck through the heart, this thing triggered, pushing my heart out of the way while also giving the illusion that my energy exploded out of my heart."

She paused for a mont. "It was tough getting back to the human realm. Even tougher was finding what was left of Aliyah and putting her back together. I had to use up all of my energy just to stitch her body back together, and since I didn’t know what else to do, I left her with her brother. I hope that’s enough solace for her brother..."

Before she could continue to bla herself for sothing she had no control over, I went ahead and placed my hand on her head, rubbing her silky crimson hair as I did my best to calm her down.

"Aliyah’s fine. I took her to Adam, and he’s in the midst of handling it. I was going to look for you right away, but I accidentally stumbled upon Vincent’s ho, and... well, I killed him and kidnapped his daughter."

"..."

Clentine glanced up at , slightly startled.

"Vincent’s gone...?"

"He is. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. A lot has happened in the past few weeks, and there’s a lot I want to tell you. Also... I realized that all the stuff I told you about the ga was a lie. There’s actually much more to it than that."

And of course...

"Take this."

I took out one of the vials that contained a Titan’s heart and handed it to Clentine. She was still a little confused by the fact that I had actually killed Vincent, but regardless of that, she loved him enough to accept whatever happened.

And after accepting the vial, she just stared at it for a brief mont, trying to understand what it was. Realizing that she had no idea, I decided to give her a quick little hint.

"It’ll make you much stronger, and it’ll also unlock Aura. Oh, right... afterwards, I’m going to try unlocking Divine Energy for you. It might be possible. If it isn’t, I might be able to establish a connection within your Mind Realm that connects to my Divine Energy Realm."

Her brows furrowed. "I have no idea what you just said."

I let out a chuckle. "That’s fine. You’ll understand with ti. After all, I’m planning to settle down and do nothing but train for the next couple of weeks. Of course, only if you’d let ."

"Obviously. You can do whatever you want. This city is yours as much as it is mine."

"Mmm..." I gave her a nod, then smiled slightly.

"Could you give so of your enchanting gear, by the way? I want to enchant a few things for us."

She raised a brow. "Sure? Let’s first get that girl sothing to eat, and then I’ll take you to my ho. Also, she doesn’t know that he’s dead, right?"

I shook my head. "I’d prefer it if she stayed in the dark for the ti being. You see, she’s a little special. I’ll tell you more in a bit."

And with that, the two of us followed after the curious Jenna until finally, we reached a random restaurant. Jenna was the first to enter, and right afterwards, we did too.
