Chapter 1068: Ning Shen Seeks Medical Care

Editor: Henyee Translations

At that moment, someone pushed the door open. Gu Yang looked up and saw Ning Shen.

She knew he was dangerous and didn’t get along with her sister and the others, so she sat up straight, her guard up.

Ning Shen pulled out the chair across from her and sat down. “Gu Yang, I heard from Director Ji that you can treat my condition?”

Gu Yang blinked, feigning confusion. “Are you sick?”

Ning Shen’s expression faltered. Why did it feel like she was insulting him?

He sneered. “Didn’t you notice last time? Don’t you know if I’m sick?”

Gu Yang, seeming unfazed, nodded thoughtfully. “Alright, alright. I know you’re sick. You look pretty sick, actually.”

Ning Shen’s eye twitched. She made it sound like there was something wrong with his mind, like he had to prove he was unwell.

But he wasn’t in the mood to argue. Over the past year, his other personality had surfaced more frequently, and sometimes even the medicine couldn’t suppress it. He had no choice but to rely on the psychiatric hospital to keep it under control.

Ning Shen’s fox-like eyes narrowed as he stared at her, his expression dark. “Gu Yang, if you can help me destroy my other personality, name your price.”

Gu Yang’s interest was piqued. “Does that mean I should spare Ning Gui?”

Ning Shen seemed slightly surprised. “From what I know, your relationship with her isn’t that close—just ordinary friends at best. Don’t you realize that as the true ruler of the Ning family, my promises could even save your life?”

Gu Yang rolled her eyes. “The Xiao family may not be as wealthy as the Ning family, but they’re far more powerful, aren’t they?”

Saving her life? Hardly. Unless her life was directly in Ning Shen’s hands, there’d be no reason for him to e to her rescue. And even if it came to that, she certainly wouldn’t trust him to keep his word. Why would someone so twisted be bound by promises?

She tapped her fingers lightly on the table. “Just tell me if you agree to my condition.”

Ning Gui, that fragile rose, deserved to flourish in the scientific munity’s fertile soil, blooming into something grand. Instead, she was trapped in a toxic love, slowly withering under the grip of this madman.

Ning Shen’s fox-like eyes darkened as he stared at Gu Yang. “Are you testing me?”

Gu Yang raised an eyebrow, meeting his gaze. She was indeed testing him, curious about how much Ning Gui really meant to him. “So, do you agree?”

“I don’t agree.” His rejection was sharp, his expression cold, and his tone unyielding. “Let me make something clear, Gu Yang. That b*tch was my mother’s closest friend, but she also drove my mother into being the Ning family’s mistress. I’ll never forgive her daughter. Ning Gui’s life belongs to me. I won’t let her go, not even if I die.”

Roses, after all, were meant to grow in the mud—and no one else would be allowed to pick them.

Gu Yang’s expression shifted slightly as she carefully studied Ning Shen. He didn’t seem to be lying.

His words contradicted what she had learned from the Little Blood Bank, but Gu Yang naturally trusted the latter more.

“Are you certain it was Ning Gui’s mother who killed your mother?” she asked.

Ning Shen’s response was firm. “It couldn’t have been anyone else.”

Gu Yang thought to herself, There’s still you. Your other personality isn’t exactly innocent, either. But she knew Ning Shen wouldn’t accept that.

She pressed further, “Did you see it with your own eyes?”

Ning Shen, however, clearly didn’t want to delve into that topic. “I have my own reasons for suspecting her, and I don’t need to explain them to you. What I’m telling you is that Ning Gui’s life belongs to me. Letting her go isn’t an option. Change your condition.”

Gu Yang wasn’t about to let the matter drop. “Even if Mrs. Ning killed your mother and you have proof, you could hand it over to the authorities. You can take revenge on Mrs. Ning, but why take it out on Ning Gui?”

Ning Shen’s eyes darkened. “She’s willing. A daughter must pay for her mother’s sins.”
