Chapter 1069: Ning Shen’s Personal Memory Fusion

Editor: Henyee Translations

Gu Yang: “It’s all because of you.”

Ning Shen grew frustrated and wanted to steer the conversation away from Ning Gui. “Tell me, how much do you need to help me get rid of my other personality?”

Gu Yang extended her hand, fingers spread wide.

Ning Shen’s eyes narrowed. “Fifty million?”

He had already spent a fortune on treatments. Although 50 million was a large sum, if it could resolve the issue permanently, it seemed worth it.

Gu Yang smiled. “Five hundred million.”

In truth, she didn’t need the money. Her willingness to help stemmed more from her desire for Ning Shen to fuse with his other personality and finally face what he had done. But she wasn’t about to let Ning Shen take advantage of her goodwill. He was, after all, a dangerous man with grudges against both her sister and the Little Blood Bank. Naturally, the price had to reflect that.

Besides, if she charged too little, Ning Shen might bee suspicious of her motives.

Ning Shen’s expression darkened instantly. “Five hundred million? Why don’t you just rob me? I should speak to Director Ji…”

Before he could finish, Ji Minghui appeared at the door, holding a thermos flask. The sweet fragrance of wolfberries filled the air as steam curled upwards.

With a gentle smile, he said, “Yangyang doesn’t answer to the hospital.”

Turning to Gu Yang, he added warmly, “You mentioned you were looking for a difficult case. I thought Young Master Ning might be suitable, so I remended it. But whether you choose to treat him, and at what price, is entirely up to you. No one can force your hand.”

Gu Yang nodded, then responded to Ning Shen’s remark with a serious tone. “Robbing is illegal. This is a mutual agreement. You should treat your illness quickly, Ning Shen, before you develop a third, fourth, or even fifth personality.”

Ning Shen’s gaze shifted back to Ji Minghui.

Ji Minghui took a sip of wolfberry tea and nodded. “That’s true. I’ll heed Yangyang’s advice and get treated as soon as possible. I’ve tried everything else, so I have no choice but to ask you for help.”

Though Ning Shen’s heart ached, he gritted his teeth and finally agreed. “Deal.”

He instructed his lawyer to draft the contract and paid half of the deposit to Gu Yang, with the remainder due upon his recovery.

For the next two weeks, Ning Shen visited the hospital daily, receiving treatment from Gu Yang each morning. She informed Gu Jin and Feng Jue about the arrangement, and both were wary of Ning Shen, opting to take turns picking Gu Yang up.

Reluctantly, Gu Yang accepted their concern. In truth, with her current level of mental strength, it was Ning Shen who should be wary of her.

He feared she might eliminate his primary personality, allowing his secondary personality to take over.

A week later, Ning Shen underwent a test in secret and discovered that his condition had indeed improved. Throughout this period, he hadn’t experienced any memory lapses. However, since the first day of treatment, he began having strange dreams at night, blurring the line between dream and reality.

That night, he dreamed he had killed his mother, a smile plastered on his face. Blood pooled on the ground, contrasting sharply with the bright rose bushes outside the window, their vibrant red hues clashing with the woman’s pale plexion.

It was a thunderous winter night when he suddenly jolted awake.

He rushed to the window and threw it open, allowing the cold air to flood the conservatory.

The night was deep and frigid; outside, rain and snow intertwined. Yet, his heart remained unsettled, leaving him unable to sleep for the rest of the night.

The next day, when Feng Jue dropped Gu Yang off at the office, he noticed Ning Shen waiting at the door, looking rather haggard.

Gu Yang raised an eyebrow. “Looks like you didn’t sleep well last night.”

Feng Jue couldn’t help but mutter softly, “He looks like he has kidney deficiency.”
