The Phoenix Clan’s manor was unusually lively the next day.

Under the bright noon sun and clear blue sky, servants hurried back and forth across the grounds carrying bolts of silk and baskets of fresh flowers.

The entire manor had been lavishly decorated.

Today was the na day celebration of Madam Qin Linhua’s youngest and only daughter. Su Nianci.

Inside the grand hall, guests gathered in large numbers.

Prominent beasts from many clans filled the hall, laughing, drinking wine, and chatting loudly as they celebrated.

At the center of it all stood Madam Qin Linhua herself.

She was dressed exquisitely in flowing robes of red and gold, her hair adorned with intricate golden ornants. Her sharp, fiery-red serpent eyes glead beneath delicately arched brows, and a pleasant smile curled across her painted lips as she moved gracefully through the hall, greeting her guests.

Trailing stiffly behind her was Su Mingze.

Each ti Madam Qin finished greeting one guest and turned to walk away, Mingze would hurry forward and begin, "Mother, I—"

"Oh! Master Shen!" Madam Qin suddenly exclaid, completely ignoring him as she moved toward another guest.

Mingze imdiately pressed his lips together. A small frown appearing on his face.

He watched his mother laugh and speak politely with the other beasts, waiting for another opportunity to speak to her.

When she finally began moving away again, he hurried after her.

But before he could reach her, one of the manor guards rushed forward and bowed.

"Madam Qin." He spoke quickly. "Great Divine Beast Prince Yan Wuhen and Great Divine Beast Prince Lan Shiyu have arrived."

Mingze frowned. That had been exactly what he had been trying to report.

Madam Qin, however, looked delighted.

Her eyes lit up imdiately before she finally glanced at Mingze. "Go and welco our guests, A-Ze."

She smoothed her sleeve elegantly. "I never expected Yan Wuhen to actually attend. Nianci told she sent him an invitation in my na."

Her smile widened. "She will be ecstatic."

Then her expression grew slightly serious. "And make sure Prince Lan Shiyu is not disturbed or provoked."

She waved her fan lightly. "Both princes are quite high-headed in different ways. And as far as I know, they are not acquainted."

Mingze imdiately bowed. "As you wish, Mother."

He quickly left the hall with the guard.

Outside in the courtyard, Mingze soon spotted Yan Wuhen approaching.

The fox prince walked forward leisurely, his guards trailing behind him.

Mingze hurried toward him, forcing Wuhen to stop.

He bowed respectfully. "It is a pleasure to have you here, Your Highness."

Yan Wuhen did not look pleased.

In fact, he looked utterly uninterested.

His gaze passed over Mingze as if he were nothing more than an insignificant insect.

Without replying, Wuhen simply walked past him.

Mingze felt irritation surge through him, but he forced himself not to show it.

Still smiling faintly, he spoke again. "Back at the academy, they said you were my loving brother’s lover."

Wuhen stopped walking.

Mingze slowly turned around, his smile widening slightly as he watched the fox prince’s nine tails sway behind him.

"It’s a sha, isn’t it?"

"A sha?" Wuhen asked coolly.

Mingze’s smile deepened. "That he turned out to be nothing more than a whore."

His voice carried a mocking sweetness. "He proved it when he abandoned you."

He tilted his head slightly. "But you shouldn’t worry. He’s quite insignificant. He always has been."

Mingze’s eyes glead with cruelty. "It’s rather strange, actually. With such a large bounty on his head, I’m surprised he hasn’t been killed yet."

He shrugged casually. "But he won’t be able to hide forever."

"He abandoned ?" Wuhen suddenly asked. His voice dropped lower, edged with unmistakable hostility as he slowly turned to look at Mingze.

The darkness in his eyes made Mingze gasp and instinctively stumble backward.

"Who told you that?" Wuhen asked coldly.

"I—I just assud," Mingze said nervously.

But despite his fear, he let out a small laugh. "Since he isn’t with you anymore. And..."

His smile turned mocking. "You weren’t serious about him anyway. A beast like you wouldn’t truly want to be with a beast like him. He’s—"

He never finished the sentence.

An imnse wave of spiritual pressure exploded from Wuhen.

Red-gold energy erupted around him, swirling violently as his nine tails flared out behind him like burning flas.

The courtyard trembled beneath the sudden surge of power.

A single pulse of Wuhen’s aura blasted outward.

Mingze was instantly thrown across the courtyard.

He slamd into the ground hard, the impact knocking the air from his lungs.

Nearby servants and guards froze, staring in shock.

Several gasped aloud.

Wuhen began walking toward him slowly.

Each step felt heavy with rage.

"Do you think I ca here to listen to your disgusting words about Ningyan?" His voice cracked like thunder. "What gives you the confidence to speak about him like that?!"

Before Mingze could respond, Wuhen lifted his boot and slamd it down onto Mingze’s chest.

A sickening crack echoed across the courtyard.

Mingze scread in pain, his eyes widening in pure shock.

Wuhen pressed down harder.

More cracks spread through his ribs.

Mingze’s screams grew louder.

"Yan Wuhen!" A voice suddenly called out from behind him.

Wuhen turned his head calmly.

He looked neither surprised nor concerned.

It was Lan Shiyu.

The serpent prince stood nearby, his hazel serpent eyes watching the scene carefully.

His guards stood behind him.

Now that he had inherited the official title of Fourth Divine Beast Prince from Lan ishan, he looked noticeably different.

He wore elegant black-and-white robes, his deanor far more composed than before. And his arm which ishan had ripped out was covered with a cloak.

"If you’re here," Lan Shiyu said coolly, "then I assu you ca to attend a celebration, not to bully..."

His voice trailed off as he glanced down at Mingze, who was whimpering weakly on the ground. "Who is he?"

Wuhen scoffed.

He lifted his foot from Mingze’s chest and stepped away without answering.

Then he simply walked past Lan Shiyu, heading toward the manor.

His guards followed silently behind him.

Lan Shiyu watched him leave. A small frown appeared on his face.

"What is wrong with that bastard?" he muttered.

anwhile, two manor guards rushed forward to help Mingze up from the ground.

Lan Shiyu glanced back at him. Tilting his head slightly.

"You’re Su Mingze, correct?"

Mingze nodded weakly. "Yes... Your Highness."

Lan Shiyu studied him for a mont. "I had heard you were clever like your mother."

His expression remained neutral. "But it appears that rumor was incorrect. What exactly did you say to provoke Yan Wuhen?"

Mingze lowered his head, grinding his teeth. He had always believed Wuhen was rely toying with Ningyan.

Just passing ti with him.

But judging by Wuhen’s reaction... That clearly wasn’t the case.

Lan Shiyu continued calmly. "We are here to celebrate your sister’s na day. And I am here on behalf of my father."

His voice beca more formal. "To announce that the Abyss Serpent Clan will support any beast who agrees to stand with us and worship."

He glanced briefly toward the manor. "I had no idea Yan Wuhen would attend."

His expression hardened slightly. "The fox clan has always shown hostility toward our cause."

He looked back at Mingze. "So do yourself a favor. Do not provoke him again. Understood?"

Mingze nodded imdiately. "Yes, Your Highness."

Lan Shiyu lifted his hand. A small pill appeared in his palm.

"Take this. It will help with your internal injuries."

Mingze quickly accepted it. "Thank you, Your Highness."

Lan Shiyu didn’t respond. He simply walked past him and entered the manor.

Mingze swallowed the pill imdiately.

But the mont Lan Shiyu disappeared from sight, his expression twisted with resentnt.

He glared at the serpent prince’s back with pure hatred.
