After receiving Su Ziyu’s reply, the little girl in front of him said, "Wait for a mont."
"We can leave in a little bit."
After speaking, she turned and walked straight into the room. After carefully closing the door, a rustling sound ca from inside. Su Ziyu’s sensing range was about thirty ters, and by concentrating slightly, he could hear soone speaking in a very low voice inside, seemingly two young girls.
"There’s water and food here."
"I’m going out to earn so money today. You’d better not leave this room. Those people looking for you might not have left yet, and if you go out, they might find you."

At this ti, a more childish-sounding voice echoed, speaking very softly, "Hmm."
Then it was silent inside for a while.
About two or three minutes later, Matty ca out in a neat work suit, a modified semi-automatic rifle slung over her back, a dusty hat on her head, a military canteen hanging from her waist, and carrying a small backpack. She said to Su Ziyu, "Alright."
"We can go now."
Su Ziyu nodded and looked toward Jiese, who was nearby, and said softly, "Can you get us a car? We won’t break it!"
You don’t even have a car?
The little girl behind him looked as if she’d fallen into a trap. If she hadn’t already agreed, she might have reconsidered.
"No problem. Follow ." Jiese easily patted his shoulder and said, "I have a modified off-road vehicle, it’s a thrill to drive, I’ll take you to it."
The group headed outside.
Jiese turned to glance at the little girl behind him, jokingly saying, "Little fox? Where did you find such a little sister?"
"You can barely take care of yourself, why burden yourself with an extra load?"
The little girl behind Su Ziyu bristled like a cat, glaring at Jiese, her brows knitted tightly, and angrily retorted, "It’s none of your business!"
"Baldy!"
"If the old monk hadn’t adopted you back then, you’d have been wolf food long ago."
Upon hearing this, Jiese was taken aback for a mont, then turned and clasped his hands together, saying, "It was my mistake. I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said that."
"Don’t worry."
"I’ll keep an eye on things for you these few days, and won’t let any troublemakers bother her."
The little girl snorted and said, "No need to worry about it."
Soon enough.
A modified off-road vehicle appeared before them. Jiese walked over and patted the hood, saying to Su Ziyu, "How about it? This car is nice, right? It cost nearly two hundred bottle caps to modify."
"If you don’t run into a Death Claw on your way, co back for the New Year’s Eve dinner."
"After the New Year."
"I know a couple of experts who can join you for the hunting mission. They’ve been wanting to hunt the Mirelurk Queen for a while, just lacking a top-notch sniper."
Su Ziyu smiled and said, "Sure."
He figured handling the Mirelurk Queen alone wouldn’t be too difficult, but since Jiese was so accommodating, bringing his friends along was no problem.
Su Ziyu wouldn’t require much paynt.
Vroom!
The off-road vehicle roared to life, feeling like driving an armored car. The little girl hopped in and fiddled with it, patting the seat and saying, "This car is nice, but a bit of a gas guzzler."
In the Wasteland Era cars aren’t valuable; gasoline is.
Scavengers’ biggest daily expense was their convoy’s gasoline consumption. The industrial system of this era had mostly collapsed, and oil production was entirely controlled by oligarchs and major powers. Their routine gasoline expenses could take up a fifth of their inco, with old-world chanical parts ultimately being sold cheaply to organizations under the oligarchs.
This ford a closed-loop ecosystem of the Wasteland Era.
All ordinary people are heavily exploited, but there is no real way to resist.
"How old are you?" Su Ziyu asked as he drove out of the camp.

"Why do you care?!" The little girl snorted, glancing up at Su Ziyu’s handso profile, then softly said, "I’m almost 16."

Su Ziyu glanced back at the little girl behind him. Though she looked sowhat immature, her mindset seed exceptionally mature. There were so scars on her hands, as if from bite marks, making her appear very stubborn and determined, with a practical short haircut. She was fiddling with her firearms, noticing his gaze, and sowhat proudly raised her semi-automatic rifle and said, "How do you like it?"
"I modified it myself!"
"Pretty good craftsmanship, huh?"
Su Ziyu nodded sowhat compassionately and said, "Mm. What about your parents?"
"Dead a long ti ago." The little girl said nonchalantly, "They used to be scavengers."
"I’m also kinda half-orphaned." Su Ziyu turned back to driving, speaking softly, "I grew up with my uncle when I was young."
"Which way do we head?"
Matty stood up, pointed in a direction, and said calmly, "These days, there are orphans everywhere. Just surviving is an achievent."
