"So simple tasks have long been finished by that gang of Scavengers." Max took out a notebook and flipped through it: "There are three tasks left."
"Which one do you think is suitable?"
Su Ziyu reached out to take the notebook and glanced over it. He first evaluated the rewards, then looked at the type of tasks.
The first task was to clear out a mine pit.
The reward for the task was the most—thirty thousand Bottle Caps, or equivalent in weaponry and ammunition. This was clearly not a task that could be completed by one person, and it would take a considerable amount of ti. It was an abandoned large mine pit, likely requiring deep underground exploration to clean up. No wonder it had stayed incomplete for so long.
"Forget about the mine pit." At this ti, Boundless approached and patted Su Ziyu on the shoulder: "There are nothing but rats, cockroaches, and other bizarre creatures down there."
"Last ti, dozens from the settlent went inside, and they ran out after just half a day."
"So places have even collapsed."
Su Ziyu turned the page to the second task, and it seed sowhat familiar because it was a commission to kill a highly mutated Mirelurk Queen, which had taken over a water source area with its offspring. The commissioners were the water rchants of the Elk Gathering Place.
"This task isn’t easy either." Boundless rubbed his shiny bald head: "I’ve been to that area."
"Those crabs are too heavily mutated."
"Ordinary bullets can’t penetrate them. Last ti, I wanted to eat crab at and wasted more than three hundred bullets to take one down."
"But the taste is indeed quite good."
This task was worth considering.
The reward was decent, with an inco of over five thousand Bottle Caps.
The last task was to hunt a Death’s Claw.
When Su Ziyu flipped to it, he saw a sketch of the monster. Max, standing in front of him, smiled and said, "For soone like you, dealing with a Death’s Claw should be the easiest."
"But be careful."
"It’s incredibly fast, and ordinary firearms aren’t very effective against it."
"It’s best to use heavy firepower."
"This scar was left by a Death’s Claw back in the day. I managed to kill one when I was younger."
The Death’s Claw is a mutated chaleon.
They survived under extrely high radiation, growing incredibly large and moving very quickly. They’re a type of monster that Wilderness Hunters often have to face but are incredibly difficult to handle. The Elk Gathering Place has sent people to hunt it, but they’ve failed several tis, losing quite a few people. This isn’t a creature ordinary people can deal with. Even modified chanical limbs are helpless against it.
The reward for the Death’s Claw task was also decent, with 3,500 Bottle Caps if taken down.
"I’ll go with this one." Su Ziyu stood up and said.
He looked at Max and asked, "Is it enough to bring back its head?"
"Yes," Max nodded. "You better take a vehicle; its head might be a bit heavy."
Boundless ca up, speaking in a low voice: "You don’t really plan to take on the Death’s Claw alone, do you?"
"That monster isn’t sothing one person can handle."
"Even if you’ve undergone Bionic Transformation, don’t be careless!"
Su Ziyu accepted his goodwill but still responded, "No worries. I’ve got it under control."
"Do you have a car?"
"Lend one. I’ll also need a guide, just to take to the area."
Su Ziyu wasn’t familiar with this area.
Going alone, he might easily get lost. He needed a guide to show him the exact location.
"There is," Boundless rubbed his bald head, "but it’ll take soone who’s not afraid of dying."
"The price will also be a bit high."
With that, he patted Su Ziyu on the shoulder, "Follow ."
"I know a girl."
"She’s pretty brave and will probably take you there, as long as you’re willing to pay."
Before leaving.
The bunny girl passed by Su Ziyu again, looking at him curiously, and blew a kiss: "Hey handso, don’t die."
Su Ziyu smiled but said nothing.
Boundless led him out of the tavern and into a small alley. After twisting and turning, they ca to a slightly shabby little shack. He then knocked on the door and shouted: "Matty! Little Fox? You there?"
Soon,
the door opened.
They were t with a pitch-black gun muzzle, followed by a sowhat tense female voice: "Is it you? Baldy? What are you doing at my place?"
Boundless awkwardly raised both hands and said to Su Ziyu: "Don’t mind."
"She’s a lot like ."
"Grew up alone, so she’s a bit wary."
After that, he pushed the gun away and whispered, "I’m introducing you a profitable job, interested?"
"No." The girl inside replied flatly, ready to close the door.
Bang.
Boundless looked even more embarrassed, rubbing his shiny bald head and laughing: "No problem. I’ll introduce you to another one."
"This girl is a bit rebellious, and her temper isn’t the best."
Su Ziyu’s expression didn’t change. Anyway, he just needed soone to take him there.
"Wait!"
Just as they were about to leave, the door suddenly opened again. Out ca a short-haired tomboyish girl in a denim jacket and jeans. She looked warily at Su Ziyu, then shouted at Boundless: "Baldy. What job?"
"My friend wants to hunt a Death’s Claw." Boundless turned, coughing slightly: "You just need to take him there."
Hearing this, the girl looked at them disdainfully, face cold: "I have a sister to support, and you’re introducing to a suicide mission?"
"What’s a suicide mission?" Boundless glared at her: "Where’d this sister co from?"
"None of your business." The girl snorted, looking Su Ziyu up and down: "Wilderness Hunter? How many of you are there?"
"The Death’s Claw isn’t easy to deal with."
"Taking you there is fine, but I’ll need 150 Bottle Caps as paynt. After all, I’m risking my life here."
Su Ziyu looked at the tomboy. Her features were quite delicate, but her temperant was a bit fiery. He softly said, "Just ."
"Pff!" She spat in Boundless’s direction, her eyebrows raised angrily and glared at him: "What the hell is with this suicide mission! Just him, and you’re going after a Death’s Claw?"
"Bro,"
"I suggest you go back. There’s no way one person can take down a Death’s Claw."
"I’ve seen that monster."
"A hunting squad from the settlent was chased back by it."
Su Ziyu shook his head with a smile: "Thanks for the warning. I can handle it."
Boundless went up, lowering his voice slightly: "My friend here is a Bionic Man. A Sharpshooter. He can pop the head of a radiation Corpse Ghost from three hundred ters away."
"Think it over if you want to join."
Bionic Man?
The girl looked curiously at Su Ziyu, seemingly unable to tell any difference from an ordinary person. Bionic technology was known to everyone, but few had actually seen it; legends said that after modifications, they looked just like real people.
Oh, right.
It’s said that Bionic people have no scars as they can replace their Bionic skin.
This man was really pale.
Indeed, he seed to have no scars.
The girl pondered for a mont, then lifted her head: "I can take you there. But I won’t enter the Death’s Claw’s domain. I’ll wait outside for a day. If you don’t return, I’ll leave on my own."
"Also,"
"I want 300 Bottle Caps as paynt!"
The price had doubled.
As if to explain, the girl said: "I’m the only one around here who’s seen the Death’s Claw myself and knows where it might appear."
"If you find soone else, it’ll take you a long ti."
"The bounty for the Death’s Claw is over three thousand Bottle Caps. What I’m asking is not much, less than a tenth."
The money isn’t a problem.
Su Ziyu’s goal was to hunt for Source Power Value, and to make so money for supplies, so he nodded: "Alright."
