Le Tong wondered if she might be delirious from the fever; otherwise, why would President Ji joke with her like this?

Although, when he said, "I’ll just leave you on the street," his tone was as stern and serious as always, Le Tong clearly perceived that when this man said those words, he was angry but also sowhat helpless.

The always stern President Ji, who usually reprimands her with a deadpan expression, was now helpless with her?

Heh, if it wasn’t that she was delirious from the fever, then it must be that President Ji was exasperated to madness!

But regardless of whether she was feverish or President Ji was confused, the fact remained that in the hospital, it was just the two of them, making it an undeniable fact that President Ji had brought her to the hospital.

"President, I’m fine now! Thank you for bringing to the hospital!" Le Tong once again tried to prop herself up with her hands to sit up.

"Lie down! Don’t move!" Ji Rui commanded in a low voice, reaching out his large hand to forcibly push Le Tong back onto the bed.

He stared at Le Tong’s face, flushed from the fever yet still bearing a stubborn look. Seeing her bite her lip lightly with a hint of grievance, he vaguely sensed a touch of vulnerability hidden behind her stubborn exterior.

"President, I’m really fine... You don’t need to stay here with !"

Due to the fever, her nose was red and transparent, her eyes shrouded in a thin mist. Even looking like a pitiful little puppy, she stubbornly refused his kindness.

Ji Rui’s face didn’t look good, the anger in his heart flaring up again.

He was annoyed for ddling in her affairs by bringing her to the hospital, but also frustrated that she wouldn’t listen and kept moving around even though the fever hadn’t fully subsided.

Before Le Tong woke up, despite Yang Sheng asking those baffling questions, he hadn’t felt that bringing her to the hospital and waiting for her to finish the IV drip was ddling.

But just now, when Le Tong awoke, the disdain in her eyes, her urgency to evade his touch, and the polite detachnt in her words made him keenly feel that what he considered natural and necessary actions were rely ddling in her eyes!

Indeed, who was she, Le Tong?

She was just a small secretary, so what if she was sick? It had absolutely nothing to do with him, the president!

Sure, she fell ill due to work, but she was compensated with overti pay. The HR departnt would naturally prepare appropriate gifts to console her in the company’s na, so why should he, the tirelessly busy president, bother himself with such trivialities?

The Ji Family employed tens of thousands of employees. If he had to personally attend to each sick employee like this, wouldn’t he spend every day in the hospital?

And the most ridiculous part was, no matter how President Ji lowered himself to be a philanthropist, Secretary Le didn’t appreciate it nor showed him any gratitude, and that was the crux of the matter!

Thinking of this, Ji Rui’s face darkened further. He glanced at Le Tong silently, then swiftly turned away to the sofa, grabbing his laptop and bag without a word, and strode out of the hospital room under Le Tong’s astonished gaze.

Xiao Li, who had been waiting outside the corridor, quickly approached, "Xiao Li, call Yang Sheng and ask him to co pick up Le Tong." At this point, Ji Rui was too furious to even leave instructions for Yang Sheng!

Being abruptly left on the hospital bed by President Ji, Le Tong could finally freely prop herself up, leaning diagonally on the bed. She stared at the hospital room door for a while, feeling that the earlier scene was too dramatic and inexplicable.

Ji Rui’s personality was indeed odd, but she didn’t say anything offensive, right? Didn’t she just say "thank you"? Could it be wrong to thank him for kindly bringing her to the hospital?

Sigh, forget it!

Anyway, with President Ji’s mind being so different from normal people, it’s no surprise he might do so strange things that deviate from the norm!

With an IV still in her hand, Le Tong touched her head with the other, feeling her fever subsided quite a bit. She pressed the ergency bell on the bedside, and a nurse quickly entered the room.

"Miss Le, Mr. Ji instructed that you wait here after finishing the IV, and Mr. Yang will co to discharge you."

Of course, it was actually Xiao Li who gave these instructions. The exasperated President Ji had made up his mind to wash his hands of this ungrateful little secretary’s affairs.

The nurse said this while taking a thermoter to asure Le Tong’s temperature.

Le Tong felt she might still have a slight fever; her head was still heavy, but it didn’t hurt as much. Her nasal congestion had also lessened significantly, indicating that the IV dication was quite effective.

"Miss, it’s just a cold and fever, nothing else, right?"

During the doctor’s diagnosis, Le Tong had been in a daze, and naturally didn’t know about the conversation between the doctor and Ji Rui. But if it was only a common cold and fever, why would she need to stay in a private room? Could it be that her fever was actually caused by so other inflammation?

Little did Le Tong know, if President Ji hadn’t made a fuss over nothing, she would only have needed to lie on a bed in the ergency room for a while, and after the IV and fever reduction, she could have just walked away.

"Miss Le, you have a case of wind-cold. Your dical records and dication are in the drawer."

The nurse opened the drawer and handed her the dical records.

"Can I be discharged later?" Le Tong didn’t rush to look through the records but wanted to clarify one thing.

She disliked hospitals; the environnt and sll reminded her of those difficult days when her mother was ill.

The nurse took the thermoter from under her arm and checked the temperature. "Thirty-seven point five degrees, Miss Le, please sit here for a while longer. Mr. Yang will co to discharge you. Rember to take your dication on ti when you go back. There are so of the doctor’s suggestions on the dical record, Miss Le, you can have a look."

Le Tong breathed a sigh of relief knowing she could soon leave the hospital. She then looked down at the dical record, noticing the doctor’s diagnosis of her poor ntal state and the suggestions to adjust her lifestyle and take so traditional dicine for her health, so she casually inquired with the nurse about a reputable traditional Chinese dicine practitioner in the hospital.

After the nurse left, Le Tong leaned back on the hospital bed, idly turning on the TV.

Her eyes fixed on the screen, but in her mind, images of Ji Rui’s dark face and sudden departure kept flashing.

Le Tong was not an ungrateful person. Regardless of Ji Rui’s reasons for bringing her to the hospital, ultimately, it was out of concern for her.

Although she hadn’t figured out why he personally brought her to the hospital and stayed with her, she also hadn’t understood later why he suddenly walked away without a word.

But one thing was certain, him bringing her and staying with her, even his later sternness, stemd from genuine concern for her.

Of course, the concern as Le Tong understood it was purely an employer’s care for an employee, without any other emotions involved.
