At their current location, the white dots had already vanished. It seed as though only three or four nearly overlapping white dots had disappeared, but in reality, their value was much greater. When items were piled together, the white border only highlighted the most valuable one.
Jason and Simon were already squatting beside the pile of mud clods, inspecting the items within.
"What are these things? Completely encased in mud." Jason washed them with clean water for a long ti, but all that washed off was more mud.
Simon, beside him, picked up a clump of mud and examined it. "Buried underground for too long. This should be gold."
Saying this, he picked up another, smaller clod, about the size of his palm, and added, "This one should be so type of gemstone."
Listening to Simon, Jason looked at the large pile of mud clods and then at the one in his hand.
He asked quietly, "So how exactly did you figure that out?"
Simon didn’t speak. He raised his right hand in front of everyone, revealing his tallic arm and its conspicuous, treasure-sensing index finger.
Magic Power surged in his palm. The mud on those clods started to shake and was quickly stripped away.
Various golden objects, under his control, flew out from the mud and piled up to one side.
As a chanic, Simon could precisely control certain tals; gold, naturally, was well within his capabilities. A number of gold artifacts were piled together.
Simon repeated his technique; various gemstone-laden items were similarly stripped of their muddy casings and gathered together.
Looking at the remaining mud clods, he waved his hand. What remained were various corroded and dilapidated tal objects, clearly no longer qualifying as Treasure.
"Wait, let take a look first." Lucilia, who was inspecting the ruins not far away, quickly hopped over.
She began to study the pile of gold artifacts carefully. Most of these gold artifacts had peculiar appearances, especially those with densely packed engravings and unknown symbols. The gemstone and crystal items were similar; so even depicted arrays resembling Spells. These were obviously not re decorations.
Crucially, the patterns and inscriptions on these valuables were exceptionally well-preserved—far better than those found in the ruins.
Everyone curiously picked up these precious items to inspect them.
At this mont, Simon suddenly stood up, a flickering construct sphere appearing in his hand. He looked at the sphere, then up at the sky. "Dayti has already lasted for sixteen hours," he reminded everyone. "Nightfall will be upon us soon."
Ever since arriving in the Endless Sea, he had ticulously calculated the duration of each day and night. The shortest night he had experienced lasted eighteen hours, so before they set out, he had programd a simple construct to act as an alarm, set for sixteen hours.
Hearing this, Alka spoke up, "Let’s stash these spoils in our Pocket Rings. We’ll examine them when we get back. This isn’t a safe place."
Today’s endeavors had been incredibly fruitful. Everyone stuffed the items into their Pocket Rings.
"Hmm... Are we just going to leave this pit here?" Matilda asked softly.
Hearing this, Alka scratched his forehead, troubled. It would have been simpler before, he thought. The excavated soil had been piled right next to the pit, so they could have just pushed it back in. But the recent spatial rift had not only deepened the pit significantly, it had also swallowed all the soil they’d previously piled beside it.
"Soone’s coming," Chadite suddenly said. She closed her eyes, sensed for a mont, and then added, "It’s Bai Shi’s patrol team."
She had barely finished speaking when Bai Shi and his team erged from the distant dense forest. Seeing Alka and the others climbing out of the pit, Bai Shi waved. Kuaidu walked over, and then Bai Shi’s attention was imdiately drawn to the pit. Bai Shi walked over to peer down into it.
"Wow! Is this the result of your day’s work? But I rember there being an exposed ruin here, don’t I? Or am I misrembering?" Bai Shi exclaid, gesturing around the pit. He distinctly rembered an exposed ruin being here on his last visit. How co there was only a hole now?
"Yes, you rembered wrong," Jason affird confidently beside him.
"Really?"
"Yeah."
While they were speaking, the others had already begun shoveling nearby soil into the pit, starting to fill it. They planned to use the surrounding soil to cover their tracks.
Seeing this, Bai Shi asked with so confusion, "Are you going to bury it now? After digging all day, aren’t you going to continue tomorrow?" To dig such a massive hole all day only to fill it in seed like such a waste. Besides, he’d seen the exposed ruins at the bottom. Wasn’t that what Alka and his group were after?
"We’ve already checked those ruins," Alka said with a smile. "There was nothing of value, so we’re filling it in, naturally. Wouldn’t want to inconvenience your patrols."
Hearing this, Bai Shi’s eyes widened slightly. He walked over and clapped Alka firmly on the shoulder. "Honestly, friend, if all outsiders coming to the Island were like you, that would be wonderful." His tone was filled with sincere emotion. He shook his head helplessly.
From his words, it was evident they had dealt with the sses left by outsiders on more than one occasion. After all, anyone who ca to this Island, if they knew even a little about its secrets and possessed a shred of curiosity, would inevitably want to see what lay hidden beneath these ruins.
