After confirming the reason, Alka and Simon took Xuan to the deck.
Due to the spatial expansion, an additional room had been specially created on the third level of the sterncastle, next to where Chadite, Lucilia, and Matilda lived. This room was dedicated to the Puppet Girls. Given their diminutive size, the expanded room was more than spacious enough for their entire Puppet Legion to reside. However, crafting furniture to fit their small fras had taken Alka and Simon considerable effort. Making these things always gave Alka a feeling of playing house. This was especially true for the over seventy sets of beds and bedding.
When Alka and Simon ca up, they were imdiately surrounded by a large group of Puppet Girls. All of them curiously looked at Xuan on Alka’s shoulder; as Puppet Girls, they could easily sense their newly erged sister.
"Is this the new sister?"
"So beautiful, but she feels a bit different from us."
"It’s a captain."
"Fool! The team mbers have all been made. Of course, only captains are left."
Seeing these Puppet Girls chattering away, Alka didn’t speak but observed carefully. He confird that Xuan’s arrival and the changes it brought had increased the cognitive abilities of these Puppet Girls, making them more lively than before.
"Xuan, go and say hello to everyone," Alka said, holding the Puppet Girl from his shoulder in his hand.
"Yes." Xuan nodded and leaped down without hesitation. She quickly mingled with the other Puppet Girls, exchanging hugs and rapidly bonding with them.
"Now there’s just one last captain left, right?" Chadite asked from behind. The others on the ship had long been drawn by the commotion and were watching from the side.
Simply put, the Puppet Girls on the ship could be broadly divided into six operational parts. Each standard squad consisted of ten mbers plus one captain.
Those under the command of Yi all used materials capable of stealth, along with various concealnt techniques and perception-blocking Spells. This team, modeled after Yi, was used for reconnaissance, patrol, and sentry duty. Their naming convention was Yi-One, Yi-Two, and so on.
Er, San, and Si were three Puppet Girls made from the hair of the three won on the ship. Therefore, these three didn’t have Puppet Girls modeled directly after them; instead, they generally accompanied their respective crew mbers. Because these Puppet Girls created with hair might possess unique talents, staying close to the hair’s provider was akin to them learning by example. They could form a special team when necessary, and Xuan, made with Alka’s hair, would also belong to this team. In Alka’s vision, this special team would eventually consist of six captains, usually tasked with assisting Lucilia in combat or helping Alka and the others.
The other six of the twelve captains were designated to lead the sixty team mbers.
Yi led the assassin squad.
Puppet Girl Wu was crafted with great effort by Simon. Though designated a Puppet Girl, Alka always felt she was more like a chanical Girl. The squad she led was the ship’s logistics team. With so many Puppet Girls, it was impossible for just Alka and Simon to handle all combat maintenance and repairs every ti; they simply wouldn’t have enough ti. This squad was specifically designed for this purpose, featuring the most construct configurations and being specially customized. They were learning forging and chanical construction, though they clearly hadn’t mastered these skills yet and were still studying under Alka and Simon. However, they already possessed the ability to maintain and service their sisters and were currently attempting to do the sa for the Sound of Dawn. Any Puppet Girl equipped with various constructs belonged to this squad.
Puppet Girl Lu was the largest of the Puppet Girls. While normal Puppet Girls were around 30 centiters in size, she stood a full 40 centiters tall, wielded two rapiers, and wore fitted Soft Armor. The Puppet Girls she led were similar, though they were 35 centiters tall, also wielded dual blades, and wore Soft Armor. Their Soft Armor wasn’t ordinary; it was powered Soft Armor made with constructs. They were classified as an assault team, expert in frontal group attacks.
Puppet Girl Qi was a Magic System adept who used Spells for long-range attacks and was also an Engraver. The Puppet Girl squad she led was similar, providing various forms of Spell support. However, they couldn’t yet utilize their inherent abilities because, like Wu and the logistics team, they were still under Alka, learning Curse Pattern engraving and related knowledge.
Puppet Girl Ba was a long-range physical attacker who used a sniper rifle larger than herself. Crafted by Simon, she used extrely small armor-piercing rounds. Due to her diminutive size, she could only deliver penetrating attacks. The Puppet Girls she led were equipped similarly.
Puppet Girl Jiu belonged to a more specialized category. She and her squad had wings; they were the team that had previously helped out in the dining room. With wings, they possessed great mobility and were able to fly freely in the air. They functioned as aerial support.
As for Puppet Girl Shi, she didn’t lead a squad. Like Er, San, Si, and Xuan, she also belonged to this special team of captains. However, she wasn’t made from anyone’s hair. Instead, she was Alka’s magnum opus, capable of simultaneously receiving information from all squads and relaying it, along with feedback, to the others.
