Looking at the structure of the mirror, a smile appeared on Alka’s face.
"What is this thing?"
Hearing the question from the others, Alka turned his head and smiled as he explained, "This is the Dream Traveling Mirror. With it, I can create another mirror on the spot later. Then, through that mirror, I can quickly return to the ship, avoiding the kind of dangers we faced before."
"A Teleportation Gate?" Simon remarked, looking at the mirror. "This thing sounds exactly like one."
"That’s right, you can understand it that way," Alka confird.
This was sothing Alka achieved through special ans, an evolution of the previous Mirror of Passage. The previous version could only facilitate extrely short-distance travel, used to enhance unpredictability and flexibility in battle. But ever since Alka acquired a trace of the Dream God’s bloodline, combined with his Royal Authority in the Dream Realm, he could use this special construct to materialize his designs. By using a large number of Spells, mixing his own power with Gold and Silver Energy, and employing his mirror as the carrier, he could temporarily create a weak point leading into the Dream Realm.
Due to Alka’s authority as the King of Dreams, it connected directly to his palace in the Dream Realm. The Energy would not disperse when not in use, and Alka rely needed to solidify the mirror itself. Such extensive long-distance travel consud too much Magic Power, making it almost a one-ti use item. After all, Gold and Silver Energy wasn’t easy to acquire.
Then Alka could open another mirror anyti, anywhere, using his palace in the Dream Realm as a transit station for a one-ti long-distance teleportation. Although it was described as long-distance, the range clearly couldn’t be too great. But it was completely adequate for the confines of this island. He planned to use it to quickly return to the ship from the island, providing a ans of escape. This provided him with another thod for a quick retreat.
"A brilliant idea, using the Dream Realm as a transit point..." Simon said, nodding with great interest. After all, true teleportation typically used space as an anchor point, but this was obviously not sothing they could achieve at their current level.
After setting up the mirror, a few Puppet Girls were assigned to guard it.
The group boarded the long-awaited Swallow Number. This ti, aside from the Puppet Girls created from a few strands of human hair, all other captains and team mbers remained on the ship. This island was too unknown and dangerous, not suitable for their operations. Moreover, this was an island for trials. If they encountered certain trials, too many personnel might increase the difficulty. At least, that was how Alka understood it.
They rode the Swallow Number near the dilapidated port, disembarked, then pulled the vessel ashore and concealed it.
The group observed their surroundings.
"This place seems to have been visited by people; there are traces from almost every ti period," Jason comnted, looking at so marks around. He noted various remnants: so evidently old, so new, along with garbage and traces of camping.
"Indeed, the Magic Power concentration is incredibly high here," Alka remarked, sensing the ambient Magic Power. The Magic Power concentration on this island was so dense it seed to enter the body with each breath. Every inhalation felt as if Magic Power was seeping into them, even causing a slight tingling sensation in their throats and nasal cavities.
Chadite walked ahead, leading the group. As usual, her role was to scout the island. Silver ripples continuously spread from under her feet in all directions.
The mont she activated her ability, Chadite furrowed her brow. "The Magic Power concentration is too high. Even the soil is rich in Magic Power. It’s completely blocking the transmission of my silver ripples."
"Does that an it’s not possible?" Alka asked.
Chadite shook her head, and a Ring of Light appeared above her. Then, the silver ripples surged, forcibly expanding outward.
"My ability to probe deeper is weakened, but detecting the surface terrain is still manageable," Chadite explained.
"Then let’s continue," Alka said. "Our main goal is to map this place. As for any hidden spaces below, or areas with cavities, we can deal with those later. After all, once we have a complete map of the island, it will naturally reveal the locations of any treasures, whether they’re hidden underground or not. We’ll find out then."
Chadite nodded and led the group forward.
There were quite a few buildings at the port, stretching into the distance. Most of them, however, were completely ruined. Situated by the sea, they had long since decayed from the constant sea winds, turning sowhat dark and eroded. Many remains of shipwrecks could also be seen, piled up here by the waves.
"Be careful, sothing’s coming," Julia warned.
CRUNCHING sounds arose from within the pile of shipwreck debris.
Strange creatures composed of tattered old clothes, seaweed, and various completely rusted weapons crawled on the ground, lurching unsteadily towards Alka and the others. Tattered weapons entangled on their forms were pointed at them, as if intending to attack.
As a buzzing sound arose, two Sentry Flying Devices flew past Simon’s side, launching attacks on those strange creatures.
Red light flashed.
Beams struck the creatures directly. The high-energy attacks penetrated them, igniting the already dry seaweed and clothing on their bodies.
A foul odor, tinged with a nauseating stench, wafted over.
The creatures that were hit didn’t seem to die completely; instead, they began to converge amidst the flas, rging into a larger creature.
