"Captain, there's a situation."
Alka opened his eyes, sensing the commotion from outside. He imdiately got up, turned off the Magic Gathering Stone, and looked out through the transparent glass. He looked in the direction Ling pointed out.
To the side, the endless green Sea of Moisture stretched on. But ahead, right at the coastal boundary, a distinct ship-like object began sailing towards them. It was at an angle and quite distant, making it difficult to see clearly.
The Mirror Surface appeared on Alka's face. A strange, protruding-eyed creature had turned into a mask, imprinted on his face. Through this creature's special ability, Alka instantly closed the visual distance. It was as if he were right beside it, allowing him to carefully observe the distant, ship-like object. Or rather, it *was* a ship.
Its appearance was extrely tattered. It looked like a ship that had been shattered by gigantic waves and then crudely pieced back together. Fragnts of rotten wooden boards were entwined with vines and other vegetation, roughly forming the outline of what had once been a ship. It was clearly a three-masted sailing ship, though only two masts still appeared to be standing. The third mast, nearer the stern, was broken in half, its sails reduced to re shreds that flapped in the wind.
Judging by the ship's appearance, it was clear its occupants weren't coming with good intentions.
Alka decisively pressed the button beside him. A crisp bronze bell chid, its sound echoing out. Imdiately, the sound of hurried footsteps ca from the deck. Alka didn't even need to alert them; his crew quickly noticed the distant commotion—the approaching ship. They began observing it through various ans.
The flying squad led by You Jiu spread their dragonfly-like wings and swiftly took to the sky. Their bodies transford into streaks of light as they flew into the distance, intending to observe the ship closely from the air. This flying squad had long since been upgraded and modified. Spells, parsed by Chadite from the Ring of Light, were attached to their bodies. These Spells allowed them to fly much faster, especially under a bright sun. They also enhanced their physical attributes and attack capabilities, enabling them to conduct long-range attacks with beams of light. Their current speed was on a completely different level than before.
The sun was currently blazing high in the sky. The streaks of light trailing their flying forms rged perfectly with the intense sunlight, effectively concealing their presence. Their small forms were easily hidden against the sky. Flying at extre speed, they soon arrived above the tattered ship. They quickly began to record the situation on the ship from various angles, transmitting the information to Lucilia through their internal ntal network.
At this mont, Lucilia was on the deck, relaying the transmitted intelligence.
"Total length 63 ters, width 21 ters. Only one cannon deck. Presud to be a rchant ship. There are active creatures onboard... plant monsters... No, they're undead creatures!"
"These undead creatures are peculiar. They're intertwined with plants and vines, seemingly fused with them. The plants in the ship's crevices are changing—buds are blooming! The flowers are shooting at them!"
Upon hearing this, Simon imdiately lifted the lens structure on his face to quickly observe the distant situation. He saw strange flowers blooming one after another on the ship, which was a patchwork of rotting grey wooden boards and green plants. These flowers swayed back and forth, spewing grey-black matter into the air. Bullet-like seeds shot rapidly towards the sky, forcing You Jiu and her squad mbers to fly swiftly to dodge.
More and more flowers were blooming. The seeds shooting upward had ford a dense barrage.
"Have them co back," a voice commanded from above.
Hearing the voice, Lucilia imdiately relayed the order. You Jiu and her flying squad, who had been dodging the attacks from a distance, quickly scattered and retreated. They then regrouped in the distance and began to return to their ship.
The tattered ship began to accelerate, charging towards them.
"Prepare for battle!" Alka said, looking towards Ling and their teammates in the observation room. "The reconnaissance up top is up to you all."
With that, he jumped directly out of the window. He looked at the distant ship.
"Jason, you handle the first wave of combat! Get the Vibrating Stone Cannon moving, and that other cannon we haven't fired yet!"
Hearing this, Jason rubbed his hands together and nodded, sowhat impatiently. He took control of the Seal of Dawn and extended his right hand to begin operating it. The gunports on the lower cannon deck automatically slid open, and cannons poked their muzzles out. They swiveled left and right as Jason moved his arm. After testing them for a mont, Jason nodded.
The Sound of Dawn quickly turned, presenting its broadside to the approaching enemy.
BANG!
However, the first cannon shot didn't co from them; it roared from the distance. The enemy had struck first.
The bow of the shattered ship split open, revealing a large hole from which an enormous, trumpet-flower-like structure erged. Then, as the trumpet flower contracted, a massive, grey-black, seed-like projectile, the size of a normal human, shot towards them. It tore through the air with a piercing shriek.
"I'll handle it," Simon said, raising his right hand at the ship's railing.
