"That’s even better."
The shopkeeper nodded slightly and said, "Please wait a mont, dear guests."
With that, he pushed open the door behind him and walked into the inner room.
As for whether he was afraid soone outside would steal sothing? HEH HEH.
Jason and his companion waited outside for about a minute.
The shopkeeper ca out holding a wooden box adorned with flowers.
"Thank you for waiting," he said, placing the wooden box on the counter and then opening it. "These are the untreated raw stones we currently have. See if there are any you need."
Jason walked over and looked at the contents of the box. Various gemstones of different colors and sizes filled the small box. The smallest ones were not even the size of a pinky fingernail, while the largest were as big as a palm.
"Can I pick them up?" Jason asked.
The shopkeeper nodded. "Of course. Feel free, dear guest."
Jason nodded. Then he reached out and began to pick up the gemstones from the Treasure Chest.
Most of these gemstones were irregularly shaped and had so strange angles. They were almost unpolished. So gemstones even had remnants of stone stuck to them, not completely cleaned off.
As the shopkeeper said, they were indeed almost raw, just like they had been freshly excavated from a mine.
The shopkeeper watched Jason’s selections. Hardly any of them were smaller than a finger. This guest seed not to favor the smaller, albeit prettier, gemstones.
Perhaps he preferred the larger ones?
After picking out gemstones of suitable size—at least not those so insignificant that Ulu Liwus would feel nothing upon consuming them—Jason began to choose more carefully.
After eliminating so, he looked at the remaining gemstones and nodded with satisfaction. "That’s it. Na your price, shopkeeper."
Seeing Jason’s unusually forthright deanor, the shopkeeper lifted his head slightly to look at him but still offered a reminder. "Dear guest, I must remind you. This is the Land of Spirits. You should know the gemstones here might not be as easy to obtain as those outside. Compared to outside prices, there could be so difference."
Although the shopkeeper expressed himself sowhat tactfully, the aning was clear: don’t think of purchasing these gemstones at outside prices.
Jason nodded. "Don’t worry."
He was ready for a high price since he dared to purchase here; he simply hadn’t prepared well enough beforehand. He had underestimated the growth speed of Ulu Liwus and the sailing ti they had spent. As long as the shopkeeper wasn’t exorbitant, he could accept it. After all, his gemstones were indeed depleted, and he urgently needed replenishnt.
Upon hearing Jason’s indifference, the shopkeeper nodded. Then he looked at the gemstones Jason had picked out on the counter.
He couldn’t help but praise, "I didn’t expect the guest to have such an eye! Do you have so knowledge about gemstones? You must be soone who loves gems."
Hearing this, Jason nodded.
He was indeed enamored, at least for now. As for his keen eye, it was entirely honed by feeding. To put it simply, the Crystal Dragon showed more preference for the better gemstones it consud, just like humans enjoying gourt food. Feeding it frequently naturally made him able to distinguish the good from the bad. Of course, he couldn’t tell others that he judged quality by taste. The main reason was the contract he had signed with the Crystal Dragon; it gave him a mystical sense for these unique gemstones. Distinguishing simple differences in quality and purity was almost instinctual for him.
Then the shopkeeper began to calculate. "A total of 356 Golden Sails. Let’s say 350. Is that acceptable, guest?"
Upon hearing the price, Jason looked at the gemstones on the table and nodded.
It was quite reasonable. Though certainly more expensive than Gemini Island, it was only about 30% costlier. In this place, that was within his acceptable range. Jason’s real limit was 50%.
Taking out 350 Golden Sails from his Pocket Ring, he put them into a small box and handed it to the shopkeeper.
He then waited for the shopkeeper to count the coins.
After all, each Golden Sail was almost half the size of a palm and not very thin. All 350 pieces, neatly arranged in the small box, looked quite weighty.
After carefully counting them, the shopkeeper nodded with satisfaction. He also took out a box, cushioned the gemstones with soft silk, and placed them carefully inside before handing it to Jason.
"Thank you for your patronage. Do you need anything else?"
"No, that will be all for now. Farewell then."
"You’re welco anyti."
Jason placed the box into his Pocket Ring. He said a simple farewell to the shopkeeper and left the store with Juanlu.
At so point, Juanlu had put on glasses and was quietly sitting in a corner, observing the exchange.
Watching the two leave, the shopkeeper pondered sothing.
I never thought my biggest transaction would co from selling raw stones... Should I consider a career change?
Outside, the two exchanged words.
"About what level of strength?"
"Fourth Stage of Perfection."
"Pretty strong."
