Ding——
The elevator stopped, the door opened, and Janelle Mills stepped out of the elevator and used her card to enter the room.
Carlotta Sterling was sitting on the sofa. Seeing her daughter return suddenly, she stood up sowhat uneasily. The dishes on the table had yet to be cleared, and she inexplicably felt a bit guilty.
Janelle imdiately noticed the scene on the coffee table.
"..." She walked over with confusion and shock. "Weren’t you on a diet? Since when did you eat so much? There’s only one pair of chopsticks! Did you eat all these bowls yourself?"
Carlotta felt a bit at a loss. It wasn’t the fact she ate a lot that made her embarrassed, but rather... she actually finished the food Nathan Mills sent!
This was simply—an embarrassnt in her post-divorce life!
"How did you manage to pack this up?" Janelle stood still in front of the coffee table, bending over to stare at the empty bowls in surprise, "These aren’t take-out boxes either. They’re bowls!"
"..." Carlotta couldn’t answer, quickly bent down to tidy up, and asked coldly, "Janelle, after all the hard work I went through to raise you, this is how you repay ?"
Back to this topic again?
The girl sighed, sat down on the sofa, casually placed her legs on the coffee table, then half-lied down, crossed her arms, and lifted her eyes, "Mom, from tomorrow, I’ll be busy for a week, so I can’t stay with you at the hotel~"
The woman tidying up quickly turned her head, asking vigilantly, "Where are you going?"
"To an ancient town nearby, going with friends to relax." She said without changing her expression, "Taking this opportunity to reflect on my life, consider it self-reflection, and I’ll contact you once I’ve thought it through!"
"Will you consider being with Julian Hawthorne?" The middle-aged woman slightly paused, as if seeing a glimr of hope.
Otherwise, what else is there to reflect on?
"Yes, I might consider it!" Janelle nodded with a smile, then praised, "You’re right, Trevor is too aloof; getting into his inner world isn’t easy. Maybe Julian is more suitable?"
Carlotta looked at her in disbelief, trying to discern sothing from her eyes.
After all, this girl is sneaky, and you never know when she’s telling the truth or lying.
"I’m tired!" To prevent being found out, the girl stood up and said, "I’m going to sleep for a bit!" After speaking, she headed into the room.
Actually, Janelle was very smart. After thinking it through, she believed Sister Sterling’s al was most likely sent by her dad.
Bringing the bowls back didn’t make sense.
She was about to text her dad when his call ca in. She quickly answered and gently locked the door.
"Hey, Dad." She lowered her voice, cat-walking to the window.
"Where are you?" Acting so secretively?
"Just got back to the hotel, in the room." She directly asked, "Did you send lunch to Sister Sterling?"
"Did she say so?"
"No, I guessed. Is it true?"
Nathan Mills laughed and admitted, "So, did she finish it all?"
"Yeah, all of it. I’m shocked! She’s been controlling her diet lately." Janelle felt very gratified, "You’re amazing, I must praise you. Even after being thrown out, you still ca running."
"She’s not just anyone; she’s my daughter’s own mom." Nathan Mills said with a touch of emotion, "Moreover, it’s not easy for my daughter to ask for a favor for the first ti, so I must handle it properly, right?"
Hearing this, Janelle was especially happy, "Dad, you’re the best! By the way, I have sothing else to tell you."
"What’s that?"
She trusted her father completely.
So, she told him about her plan to go to the ancient town with Trevor for a week starting tomorrow.
And said, "Do you think... you could find an opportunity to take my mom out of the hotel? Don’t you have a vacant apartnt?"
She wasn’t trying to reunite her parents, just hoped their relationship could improve a bit.
