Finn Morgan has such high looks, even from such a close distance, there’s not a flaw to be found. His features are just so pleasing to look at.
As she looked, she couldn’t help but laugh, and even laughed out loud.
Finn Morgan furrowed his brow slightly, "What are you laughing at?" He carried her into the elevator, looking down to see her face flushed like a sweet apple.
For a mont, he actually had the urge to take a bite.
When she lifted her gaze with a smile, their eyes t, and Hailey Hale reminded him, "Why aren’t you pressing the floor? Planning to spend the night in the elevator?"
Finn Morgan snapped out of it and carried her over to the number buttons, his hands already full.
Hailey Hale was cooperative, reaching out to press 28 and the elevator went up.
"What were you just laughing about?" Finn Morgan was curious, feeling it had sothing to do with him.
The girl’s laughing eyes looked at his handso face, "I’m laughing at you. Considering your age, how do you maintain yourself? Your skin is even better than mine."
Finn Morgan retorted, "What age are you talking about?"
"Almost 30, right?" She tilted her head, answering, "26, isn’t it?"
"..." Finn Morgan was speechless, "Is 26 that old?"
"Older than !" She added, "Six years older to be exact. Don’t girls nowadays all like younger guys? You could have been buying soy sauce when I was born."
What was she getting at?
Pointing out the age gap?
Politely refusing him?
"Well, CEO Kingston and President Lane have a 12-year gap, and they’re doing just fine, aren’t they?" Finn Morgan wasn’t ready to accept being called old.
"Huh?" Hailey Hale looked at him earnestly, "What are you talking about?"
Finn Morgan cleared his mind, "..." staying silent.
She didn’t ask further.
Ding—
The elevator doors opened, Hailey Hale realized late, "We are separate individuals, they are a married couple. There’s no comparison. In marriage, as long as there’s love, it doesn’t matter if there’s a decades-long gap. There are plenty of such romances out there."
Finn Morgan answered with silence.
He carried her to the front door, and she reached out to press the fingerprint code, unlocking the door.
Once inside, Finn Morgan carried her into the master bedroom and gently placed her on the bed.
The faint scent of the man lingered around her nose, each whiff bringing a unique charm, familiar and reassuring.
"Hey, what brand of perfu do you use?" she asked, curious.
He blinked, looking at her, "I never use perfu."
She paused, "Body odor?"
"What?"
"..." She awkwardly averted her gaze.
Finn Morgan’s gaze softened, he took off her shoes and pulled the covers over her chest, then turned and left.
Soon after, he returned with a glass of water, "Have so water."
She was indeed a bit thirsty.
"Thank you." The girl leaned against the headboard, taking the warm glass with both hands, touched by his attentiveness.
"Rest early, you don’t need to close the door, just call if you need anything." Taking the empty glass from her hand, Finn Morgan turned to leave again.
Hailey Hale watched him walk away, recalling how he blocked the beer bottle for her without hesitation that night, and today when he jumped down five steps, sweeping her into his arms and kicking the snake away, he was insanely impressive!
The house was unusually quiet.
She was also unable to sleep, so she randomly grabbed a book to flip through, though she wasn’t really in the mood to read...
Sohow, she felt a little unsettled inside.
After about half an hour, footsteps approached.
Hailey Hale raised her eyes and saw Finn Morgan standing by the bed, he asked her, "Did you eat enough dinner? Want so noodles?"
She shook her head, "Don’t want any, I’m full."
Silence... their eyes connected.
Then Finn Morgan gave a nod and turned to leave.
"Hey!" She called to stop him, Finn Morgan turned around again.
"My mom is coming back." Hailey Hale said softly to him, "So I need to recover before she sees , I can’t let her worry."
"Yeah, yeah." He understood.
"So..." She bit her lip, apologizing, "So I might trouble you for a while."
For so reason, Finn Morgan suddenly felt a bit empty, "Not a bother, if you need anything just say. Her mother coming back ans she won’t be staying here, right?"
