He furrowed his brow and stopped in his tracks. Not asleep yet?
It’s already midnight.
Grasping the doorknob and giving a gentle push, she turned out to be binge-watching a show!
The sound of the door opening startled the girl engrossed in the plot. Hailey Hale abruptly looked up, her smile frozen, "How co you’re still awake?"
"Why aren’t you sleeping?" Finn Morgan’s voice was indifferent, "What ti is it? Don’t you need to rest?" His tone was filled with obvious displeasure.
Hailey Hale lowered her gaze to the progress bar in the video, only ten minutes left of this episode, "I’ll sleep soon."
Finn Morgan unhappily stared at her, neither advancing nor retreating.
"..." The girl felt uneasy under his gaze, swallowed hard, and said appeasingly, "Okay, okay, I’ll sleep soon." Then, she put down the phone.
Finn Morgan stepped forward, took the phone from the bedside table and looked it over, not even exiting the video page.
Who are you fooling?
Seeing his stern expression, Hailey Hale’s voice softened, "Why don’t... why don’t you take the phone away?" acting like she did sothing wrong.
Finn Morgan was unapologetic, took the phone, turned around and left, turning off the lights and closing the door.
He sat in the living room on the sofa, exited the video app, and discovered that her phone wallpaper was actually Anton Miller’s photo spread!
A chill flashed across Finn Morgan’s stern face.
Staring at Anton Miller’s roguish expression and rampant manner, wearing a ripped denim jacket with buttons undone to reveal professionally sculpted abs.
In the photo, his actions were casual, fingers lightly touching his chin adorned with four rings, an eye-catching tattoo on his chest.
Finn Morgan wore a dark expression and silently changed the wallpaper, deleting all of Anton Miller’s photos in the gallery.
He didn’t bother checking her other private contents.
Putting down the phone, Finn Morgan lay back on the sofa, covered himself with a blanket, placing both hands behind his head while staring at the ceiling, unable to fall asleep for a long ti.
The next day.
Hailey Hale woke up slowly in a daze, instinctively reaching for her phone on the bedside table to check the ti, but found it empty.
Suddenly alert, she recalled Finn Morgan taking her phone last night.
Would he take it to the office? Won’t he leave it back for her?
Hurriedly getting up, her foot didn’t hurt, but still injured, she raised her injured leg, hopping with one leg to open the bedroom door, filled with the aroma of noodles and the sound of kitchen activity.
