At that mont, Finn Morgan’s phone rang. He got up and took a look, "It’s Dr. Shelby!"
First, he wanted to bring this good news to everyone. A glimr of hope flashed in Zachary rce and Claudia’s eyes. Under everyone’s gaze, Finn answered the call—
"Hello, Dr. Shelby."
"Are you at the hospital?" Ian Shelby’s voice was gentle, "I’m done with my work and can co by anyti."
"I’m at the hospital, thank you for your hard work."
"It’s my duty."
Finn hung up the phone. Hailey Hale said to Claudia, "lissa will wake up soon, Dr. Shelby is an authority in the field."
"So as soon as she wakes up, will you all just walk away?" Claudia suddenly felt afraid, initially asking Hailey, but then her gaze fell on Finn.
Before Finn could answer, lissa’s fingers twitched. Jocelyn Morgan was the first to notice.
"Look! Her fingers moved!"
Everyone looked towards the hospital bed. The hand placed outside the blanket moved slightly, and the closed eyes shifted a bit.
The next second, everyone gathered around.
"Cindy..." Claudia was on edge, calling out, "Cindy, open your eyes, mommy’s here."
In a daze, lissa opened her eyes. The faces of so people in front of her overlapped. It took a long, long ti to finally see them clearly.
"You’re awake?" Jocelyn was genuinely happy.
lissa didn’t answer, seemingly not fully aware. Her gaze seed foreign, passing over Zachary and scanning everyone around.
Finally, her gaze returned to Zachary.
"Could you have amnesia?" Finn’s heart skipped a beat as he asked.
lissa heard this and looked at him, staring unblinkingly, "Finn? Why are you here too?" She hadn’t looked closely earlier.
"Cindy, do you recognize ?" Claudia anxiously interrupted, afraid that her daughter might not recognize her mother upon waking.
lissa slowly shifted her gaze back to her mother, "Mom... why am I lying here?"
Seeing Finn by her side made lissa happy.
But when she saw Hailey was also there, her expression subtly changed.
Everyone exchanged glances, "Are you amnesiac or not?"
As Zachary recounted the accident to her, lissa rembered in an instant, that fleeting mont.
She had originally intended to commit suicide, but when she saw the danger approaching Auntie Morgan, she chose to save Auntie Morgan...
lissa fixed her gaze on Finn’s face, "Everyone out, Finn stays. I have sothing to say to him."
Jocelyn imdiately glanced at Hailey.
"Let’s go." Hailey stood upright, taking Jocelyn’s hand, "Let’s go get so fresh air."
Zachary snapped out of it and also took Claudia’s hand, leading her out of the ward.
Finn actually didn’t want to be alone with her, but out of humanitarian concern, he stayed.
It would be good to clear so things up.
"Thank you for saving my mom," Finn started, "Don’t do such foolish things again. If you die, what about your parents?"
She hadn’t expected his first words to be scolding!
"Your dad told you wrote a suicide note. I don’t know if your view has changed after the accident."
"But I want to advise you, sacrificing your life for is not worth it."
"Your death brings no benefit. I won’t feel guilty. On the contrary, I’ll live happily, living life the way it should be."
Finn’s words were truly infuriating!
"Are you done?" lissa coldly asked.
"I’m done. Now you speak, I’m listening." Finn sat in the chair by her bed, "I’ll give you only two minutes to avoid Hailey misunderstanding that we have too much to talk about."
He left lissa a little confused, not knowing what to say for a mont.
