Bai Ningbing quickly picked up the phone, and Luofeng said first, "Baby, I’m on my way. I’ll be at your place in about seven or eight minutes!"
Bai Ningbing said, "Then we’ll co downstairs now. We’ll wait for you at the community gate."
"Okay!" Luofeng nodded.
In about six or seven minutes, Luofeng arrived at the gate of the Blue Sky Residential Area. The sky was still rather dark; after all, it was winter, and that’s how things were. If it had been sumr, the sky would have been bright by six or seven o’clock.
Although the light was dim, Bai Ningbing and Tangya spotted Luofeng’s car imdiately. This was mainly because Luofeng’s Lamborghini was so recognizable.
Luofeng unlocked the car doors.
As expected, Bai Ningbing and Tangya both chose to sit in the back. There was nothing wrong with this choice, as neither of them felt it appropriate to sit in the co-pilot seat. It was simpler for them to sit together in the back.
Luofeng checked the ti; it wasn’t even 6:40 a.m. yet. He asked, "Auntie, should we set off now?"
Tangya nodded. "Yes, it’s better to go earlier. There might be traffic. Besides, even though the appointnt is at eight o’clock, they’ll all arrive early!"
Luofeng joked, "Is arriving early supposed to show more sincerity and filial piety, hoping the ancestors will bless us more?"
Bai Ningbing couldn’t help but laugh. "How did you know?"
"It’s an old saying. I’m not a foreigner; how could I not know?" Luofeng said with a laugh.
Today should be the last workday for ninety-nine percent of office workers, right? Except for those who still have to work overti during the New Year. That’s why the morning rush hour traffic has decreased so much; everyone’s gone on holiday.
At seven in the morning, just as Tangya had predicted, they suddenly hit traffic when they reached South Road. The city roads were clear, but the roads in the countryside were congested.
Is this the hocoming rush?
A journey of less than two kiloters took over twenty minutes.
At the South Road Cetery, Bai Ningbing’s second maternal uncle, Tang Guangrong, was already talking with her third maternal aunt, Tang Guangi. Also present was her eldest maternal uncle, Tang Guangqiang.
Tang Guangqiang asked Tang Guangi, "Third Sister, do you think our fourth sister will co today?"
Tang Guangrong interjected defensively, "I only got a call from our third sister late last night. She said she didn’t have a car; what was I supposed to do?"
Tang Guangi chid in, trying to diate, "Eldest Brother, you don’t have to worry. Our fourth sister has her ways. She even managed to deal with a big na like Jiai Company. Do you think she’s that simple?"
Actually, Tang Guangi was being deliberately provocative. She hoped to use Tangya to build a connection with Jiai Company and secure work for her family’s dozen or so earthmoving trucks. However, Tangya had no direct contact with Jiai Company at all. She had resolved matters with Jiai Company through Luofeng. So, when Tang Guangi had asked Tangya for help previously, Tangya had told her she couldn’t do it.
Because of this, Tang Guangi had grown to resent Tangya. She believed Tangya had used so underhanded thods to secure her connection with Jiai Company and was now pretending to be high and mighty by refusing to help her own family. That was why Tang Guangi had deliberately targeted Tangya. She had claid her family’s car wasn’t available late in the evening and then asked Tang Guangrong to give *her* a ride, thus intentionally leaving Tangya’s family without transport.
Eldest Uncle Tang Guangqiang frowned. He didn’t say anything, but he suddenly understood the saying, "Even close relatives keep clear accounts." After all, even though they were siblings, they were still independent individuals. They were all close family, yet look at the state their relationships were in.
Tang Guangi continued, "Even if Fourth Sister doesn’t co, the few of us can still pay our respects. It’s not like our parents will lack for incense from us, will they?"
Her words made everyone uncomfortable.
However, just as Tang Guangi finished speaking, the bright yellow Lamborghini SUV drove into the cetery’s parking lot.
Tangya had already spotted Tang Guangrong, Tang Guangi, and Tang Guangqiang.
"We’re here!" Tangya announced.
Luofeng saw an empty parking space nearby and drove straight into it.
Tang An, Tang Guangrong’s son, exclaid when he saw Luofeng’s Lamborghini, "That Lamborghini SUV is truly the Divine Car of my dreams!"
Tang Yue, Tang Guangqiang’s daughter, teased from the side, "That car is incredibly expensive, isn’t it?"
"Yeah, it costs at least three million. Basically no hope of owning one in this lifeti." Before Tang An could finish speaking, he saw Tangya and Bai Ningbing getting out of the Lamborghini.
They were both stunned.
Tang Yue also saw Bai Ningbing and called out, "Ningbing?"
Bai Ningbing heard her and responded, "Cousin Tang Yue!"
When Tang Guangrong saw the Lamborghini, his expression beca complicated. He knew that Tangya’s family, no matter their circumstances, could never afford such a luxury car. So, whose Lamborghini was it? And why would soone drive Tangya and Bai Ningbing here so early in the morning?
Tang Guangi secretly frowned, her mind already concocting theories about Tangya. She’s so young and has such a great figure. If I were a thirty-four-year-old man, I’d probably be willing to get involved with her too, right?
But Tang Guangi, who had been expecting an old man to get out of the car, was suddenly dumbfounded. Because Luofeng had also gotten out of the car and was walking towards Bai Ningbing.
Everyone from the Tang Family turned their attention to Luofeng.
Tang Guangi hesitated, a flicker of uncertainty in her eyes. She felt that Luofeng looked very familiar, as if she had seen him sowhere before, but she just couldn’t recall where.
Seeing Luofeng walk towards Bai Ningbing, Tang Yue took the initiative to ask, "Ningbing, this handso guy... is he?"
Bai Ningbing replied, "Cousin Tang Yue, this is my boyfriend, Luofeng."
"Luofeng, this is Tang Yue, my older cousin," Bai Ningbing continued, making the introductions.
While Tang Yue and Luofeng were greeting each other, Tang Guangi rushed over, her face wreathed in a fawning smile. "Hello, Young Master Luo!"
"And you are...?" Luofeng asked, looking at her hesitantly, clearly not recognizing her.
Bai Ningbing said with a hint of disgust, "She’s my third maternal aunt."
"Ah, I see." Luofeng nodded, then gave Tang Guangi a slight nod in return.
"Young Master Luo, to think you’re Ningbing’s boyfriend! We are truly honored. I am Ningbing’s biological third aunt. Please take good care of our Ningbing in the future," Tang Guangi said, getting straight to the point with her request.
Tang Guangqiang frowned deeply, clearly disliking Tang Guangi’s obsequious and materialistic behavior.
Tangya let out a soft "Hmm" from the side.
Bai Ningbing stated directly, "Third Aunt, Mom already told you, we can’t help with that!"
Luofeng glanced at Tangya, who nodded slightly and whispered, "She approached about it before, but I didn’t make any promises."
Luofeng suddenly rembered the phone call from last night. So, that was why they deliberately targeted Tangya, knowing she didn’t have a car? Because of this?
Why did family have to be like this?
Luofeng turned to Tang Guangi. "Third Aunt, I’m Ningbing’s boyfriend. It’s alright for to call you Third Aunt, isn’t it?"
Tang Guangi was all smiles and flattery. "Of course, it would be my honor!"
This woman is quite shaless, Luofeng thought, his gaze briefly flicking to her black stockings and high heels. This Third Aunt... her figure is probably a ninety out of a hundred.
"What does your family do, Third Aunt?" Luofeng inquired.
Tang Guangqiang interjected, "Third Sister, it’s getting late. Let’s go pay our respects to the ancestors first."
