He didn't ask about the Patriarch. He was, Yue thought distantly, a genuinely intelligent man.

She inclined her head. "Proceed."

The ceremony took three hours.

Succession docunts. Territory acknowledgnts. Cultivation lineage declarations. The formal transfer of the clan seal from the Patriarch's house to the Matriarch's direct authority — which Gao handled with remarkable smoothness, citing the Patriarch's "extended retreat for advanced cultivation seclusion" in a tone that communicated clearly that he was not asking questions and would like others to follow his example.

The elders were, to varying degrees, aware that sothing had changed fundantally in this palace. The two won on the dais were different — not subtly, not in ways that could be attributed to stress or grief or the weight of succession. The 'qi' was different. The 'bodies' were different, if you knew how to read it. Elder Zhao kept his eyes carefully above neck level. Elder Wei was doing the sa political calculation he'd been doing since they walked in, just with far more variables now.

None of them said anything. Power speaks for itself in the cultivation world, and what spoke here was deafening.

The discussion turned, eventually, to the Labyrinth.

"The Abyss Labyrinth opens in forty days," Elder Fang reported, spreading a large jade map across the table that the steward had arranged at the base of the dais. Marked on it in red ink was the entrance point — a collapsed range of mountains three weeks' travel east. "The last opening was sixty years ago. Our clan sent no one. The records indicate" — he cleared his throat carefully — "that the Patriarch considered it too dangerous, given the clan's resource state at the ti."

The 'real' records indicated the previous Patriarch had been a coward, but no one said that.

"The Giant Lineage's inheritance is sealed inside," Gao continued, taking over with the ease of a man returning to his preferred subject. "A full bloodline legacy — cultivation techniques, body refinent thods, the physical enhancent sequences. Whoever claims it would increase the clan's power by a generation." He paused. "We believe the First Heir is the appropriate candidate. Her cultivation advancent over the past week is..." He chose his words with the careful precision of a man tiptoeing. "...Extraordinary. Beyond what we anticipated."

Lin Yuxi turned her gaze to him. Flat, unreadable, her royal posture perfectly composed.

'A week of Cang breaking her apart and rebuilding her while her cultivation fed on the sheer overwhelming qi contamination of his touch.' Every session had pushed her core further. Every ti his cock had stretched her to the limit of what she could handle, so wall inside her cultivation base had 'cracked' open. She didn't fully understand it yet. She just knew that she was not the sa woman who had stood in this clan's court seven days ago, furious and arrogant and secretly terrified.

"I will go," she said.

Simple. Final. No performance in it.

The elders visibly relaxed as if a held breath had been released collectively.

"Excellent," Gao said, with genuine satisfaction. "Several of the allied families have daughters at appropriate cultivation stages who could accompany you — the arrangent would strengthen relationships with three families whose support has been..." He glanced at the empty space where the Patriarch's chair would have held a patriarch. "...Important to maintain."

"Their nas," Yuxi said.

Fang produced a second, folded docunt. "Elder Wei's daughter, i, early Nascent Soul. Elder Zhao's youngest niece, a sword cultivator, late Core Formation. And—" He unfolded it fully. "—The family of Elder Dong from the Eastern Tributary. His wife — a cultivator in her own right, mid-Core Formation — has a daughter of suitable age. The family photo in our clan registry is attached." He slid the docunt onto the table. In the upper corner, a small formal portrait: a round-faced woman, pleasantly pretty, standing beside an old fat man with a rchant's red-faced cheerfulness, and a young girl of perhaps five perched on his knee.

"I see," Yuxi said.

She committed the page to mory with a single glance.

The bowing happened gradually, one elder at a ti, each stepping forward to pledge formal acknowledgnt of the succession before filing out through the main doors. The steward followed, organizing the logistics of the upcoming ceremony preparation. Gao was last — he paused at the threshold, turned back, and looked at the Matriarch with the steady gaze of a man who had decided not to see many things but saw everything.

"The clan is in good hands," he said.

It was not exactly a question.

Yue t his eyes with the full weight of whatever she had beco in the past seven days. "It always was," she said.

He bowed. He left.

The doors closed.

The hall was empty.

Queen Yue sat on the rosewood throne with her hands folded over her pregnant belly and her eyes forward, and for a mont the sheer 'weight' of what she'd been performing for three hours settled into her bones. The immaculate posture. The commanding voice. The precise, authoritative answers. Every syllable calibrated. Every qi fluctuation controlled. The full performance of a woman who had everything in hand.

Beneath her robe, her pussy was leaking steadily onto the silk cushion.

Lin Yuxi exhaled from the chair beside her — a long, shaky breath that she'd been holding since the last elder had left the room. Her thighs had been pressed together for three solid hours and the pressure was approaching sothing that wasn't discipline anymore.

"Mother," she said quietly.

"I know," the Queen said.

A ripple moved through the air.

Not a sound, exactly. More like the feeling of space bending slightly — the way the air moves when soone who carries a great deal of weight passes through it. A seam opened in the empty air twelve feet in front of the dais, frad by nothing, leading to nothing visible on the other side, and Cang stepped through it.

He wore nothing. He never did, here. His muscular fra caught the hall's candlelight the sa way it caught any light — all of it, absorbing and reflecting nothing back. The cock hanging between his thighs was soft — 'limp,' thick and heavy and dragging slightly with its own weight, still faintly glistening at the dark, fat tip. His hands were clasped behind his back. His expression was the expression of a man reviewing property.

His eyes moved across the hall once — the emptied space, the ceremonial banners, the vacant dais — before landing on the two won.

Both of them had already risen from their seats.

Not gracefully. Not slowly. Sothing happened to Lin Yuxi's composure the instant she saw him — the three hours of disciplined performance simply 'collapsed', and what was underneath it showed on her face with brutal clarity. Her lips parted. Her eyes darkened. The sword at her hip forgotten. She descended the dais steps and crossed to him in sothing that was almost running but wasn't quite, covering the distance in a stumbling, urgent half-rush until she hit his chest and his arm ca around her automatically, his hand finding her ass through the white court robes and 'gripping', fingers sinking in deep enough to make her gasp against his collarbone.

"'Mnghh—'" Her whole body shuddered. Her knees went soft. "Three hours," she said into his chest, voice cracking at the edges. "Three 'hours' sitting there with—" She couldn't finish it. "—'Monster,'" she whispered, which in her mouth ant sothing entirely different than it had a week ago.

The Queen descended the dais slower. The pregnant belly made speed impossible, but there was sothing else in the pace — a deliberate quality, a woman taking those final steps with full knowledge of what she was walking toward and choosing every one. When she reached him, she turned.

Without ceremony. Without preamble.
