The biting wind howled past. Chen Yang narrowed his eyes, his killing intent flaring.
"You..." Tu Su bit his teeth so hard they could crack, his eyes brimming with venom, his expression ferocious.
From the mont this battle began, he had viewed Chen Yang as a fish on the chopping block, to be slaughtered whenever and however his mood dictated. He had even magnanimously declared he would give Chen Yang ample ti to recover from his injuries.
In the end, however, Chen Yang hadn't even regarded him as an opponent.
Perhaps he was just a buffoon?
PFFT!
Just thinking about it made Tu Su unable to suppress the blood surging in his chest, and he spat out a mouthful. In an instant, his entire deanor wilted.
"And you thought you could stop from crossing the river?" Chen Yang questioned. "Hmm?!"
Tu Su was speechless.
The atmosphere in the square gradually began to change, growing tense.
It seed the situation wasn't as grave as they had imagined.
Countless pairs of eyes fixed on Chen Yang, who had only half-drawn his longsword. As always, this man brought with him a sense of hope and confidence.
anwhile, Tu Su looked withered, like a walking corpse.
"That guy from the Imperial Clan started on such a high horse, looking down on everyone. Now look at him, he's taken a fall and is half-dead!"
"Serves him right!"
Everyone gasped. Who could have imagined the tables would turn so swiftly?
The higher you stand, the harder you fall!
"You're arrogant!" Confirming that Tu Su was not in mortal danger, Zhou Jinshui coldly rebuked, "I don't know what underhanded ans you used, but forget about crossing the river. Do you really think you'll leave here alive today?"
Chen Yang shook his head and slapped him without warning. Caught completely off guard, Tu Su was struck and forced to his knees.
Zhou Jinshui was stunned speechless.
The crowd was equally silent.
"You..." Tu Su knelt on the ground, glaring at the man who towered over him like a mountain. Grinding his teeth, he roared, "Jinshui, what are you waiting for? Kill him for !"
BOOM!
Without another word, Zhou Jinshui mobilized his entire aura. He took a single step forward that landed with a deafening, thunderous crash. At the sa ti, golden rays of light like flas soared into the sky. A Dharma Golden Body, dozens of feet high, condensed behind him. Its arms were as thick as beams, and its eyes shone like lamps.
An extre, murderous aura tore through the air, occupying every inch of space. The Dharma Golden Body was so lifelike it even bore a slight resemblance to Zhou Jinshui.
"This old guy is said to be a veteran Heaven Saint expert. He's no pushover," the crowd murmured.
"Trash. I'll give you one more chance. Kneel imdiately, and I might let you live a little longer." Zhou Jinshui clenched his fists so tightly they crackled. He stood as if at the pinnacle of the world, staring down at Chen Yang, his tone absolute and allowing no argunt.
A playful smile touched the corners of Chen Yang's lips.
"Hmph!" Zhou Jinshui sneered. "As you wish."
BOOM!!
The Dharma Golden Body's fist fell, shaking the void as it descended directly toward Chen Yang's head.
CLANG.
The Traveling Dragon Sword hanging at his waist flew from its sheath. Chen Yang ran a hand over the blade, a humorless smile on his face. "Old man, you have a foul mouth."
SWISH!
He swept his sword out. The descending fist was instantly annihilated by the Sword Qi. Cracks spread up the arm, and before anyone could react, it disintegrated in mid-air, dissolving into countless motes of light that vanished.
The sword light was unstoppable. Before Zhou Jinshui could even process what happened, he felt a sharp pain as his chest was pierced through.
But it wasn't over. Chen Yang took a few steps forward, his Traveling Dragon Sword flashing through the air to impale Tu Su as well.
WHOOSH.
On the riverbank, the wind howled like drums, whipping his black cloak about him. His bearing was magnificent, as if he were a god of slaughter incarnate.
"This..."
Let alone the surrounding onlookers, even the mbers of the Imperial Clan were utterly terrified, backing away repeatedly. The sheer dread emanating from their very souls left them disoriented and restless.
Who could have imagined that the Forr Chief Military Commander would be this powerful?!
"You..." Zhou Jinshui clung to a shred of life, his eyes bloodshot and his face deathly pale.
Chen Yang ignored him and rushed to the riverbank, bellowing, "If you don't want them to die, then stop!"
The rolling sound waves crossed the river, exploding across the sky. On the opposite bank, the one-sided slaughter ca to an abrupt halt. Countless savage eyes shot across the river like arrows.
When they saw Chen Yang, and then Tu Su and Zhou Jinshui impaled on his longsword, every mber of the Imperial Clan, including their leader for this mission, Elder Tu Shen, froze in disbelief.
They lost? Not only did Tu Su lose, but Zhou Jinshui was defeated as well? This... In their minds, Tu Su's victory should have been assured.
Chen Yang stood as still as a statue, letting their blood drip down his body.
SWOOSH!
Monts later, a piercing sound ripped through the air in response. It was as fast as a lightning bolt streaking across the sky. It was Tu Shen. He had hurled a sword.
Instead of retreating, Chen Yang advanced and threw a punch.
BOOM!
Thunder cracked across the clear sky. The river water surged, and a towering wall of mist instantly engulfed Chen Yang's position. The wind whipped up sand and stones, and the mist made everything hazy.
Instantly, everyone—from the Imperial Clan and Chen Family on the far bank to the crowd on this side—stared with wide, unblinking eyes.
The mist dissipated.
Chen Yang had been pushed back several ters, leaving a deep, shocking trench gouged into the earth by his feet. His fist was bleeding. Even so, he still held the sword with one hand, keeping Tu Su and Zhou Jinshui suspended in mid-air.
Tu Shen was slightly taken aback. His seemingly casual strike was sothing an ordinary Heaven Saint powerhouse could never withstand; they would be gravely injured, if not killed. Yet, this man had actually blocked it.
"Boy, release them!" Tu Shen said coldly. "You should be well aware of the predicant you're in! Take my advice: give up this futile struggle, and I can guarantee you a complete corpse."
Chen Yang laughed and gave his sword arm a slight shake.
Tu Shen was speechless.
Everyone was speechless.
This... this... Does he have to be so domineering? So many mbers of the Imperial Clan are here, led by the old man Tu Shen himself. And this guy just ignores them all?
"Direct everything at ," Chen Yang said with a cold smile. "This Tu Su holds a high position in your Imperial Clan, doesn't he? If you dare make a single move against the Chen Family, he will die."
He added, "If you don't believe , feel free to try."
