A silence fell.
To the onlookers, this Forr Commander was far too unyielding. So what if they were the Imperial Clan? He would kill when killing was necessary.
For the Imperial Clan, however, this was a humiliation beyond asure.
They, the majestic Imperial Clan, existed above the secular world. Yet now, soone had brazenly slain one of their core mbers in front of a crowd of common ants, completely disregarding the warning of an Imperial Clan Elder.
There was no room for negotiation.
Wasn't this just brutally trampling the dignity of the Imperial Clan underfoot?
"Chen Yang, you're courting death!"
"Wretch, surrender and be captured!"
A group from the Imperial Clan burst into a rage. With furrowed brows and wide eyes, they scread like shrews cursing in the street. Yet they only dared to flex their might with words; not one of them dared to attack Chen Yang.
Chen Yang stood unflinchingly, eting the gaze of every mber of the Imperial Clan.
The crowd erupted into heated discussion.
"This so-called Imperial Clan can only bully the weak. When faced with a real opponent, they're all useless. The majestic Imperial Clan, is this all you've got?"
"It's truly an eye-opener! You boast about your supre status while committing the most shaless acts. Ptooey!"
The constant sound of spitting completely ignited the fury in the hearts of the Imperial Clan's mbers.
Since when had their majestic Imperial Clan been subjected to such garbage talk and derision?
---
News of Tu Su's defeat—being impaled on Chen Yang's sword—had already spread throughout Cangyun City, causing a trendous uproar.
「Ancient Cliff Grand Hotel.」
In front of the most luxurious suite on the top floor, two young won stood guard, one on the left and one on the right. Their sharp eyes monitored every passing figure. From a distance, one could see the two girls' delicate features and exceptional bearing. But upon drawing closer, anyone would be overwheld by their chilling, murderous aura and quickly walk away, not daring to stare.
Soon, an elderly woman with graying hair, nad Gu Xiulan, hurried over.
"Inform the young miss. There's been a change in the situation," Gu Xiulan said.
"The young miss is still resting."
As soon as the guard spoke, a clear voice ca from inside the room. "What sort of change?"
The voice was as pleasant as pearls falling onto a jade plate.
"Tu Su has lost." Gu Xiulan recounted the events that had transpired on the banks of the Qingyuan River in detail, concluding, "This Forr Chief Military Commander is even stronger than we imagined."
"To end up in such a pitiful state?"
CREAK.
The door opened, and a woman in a long white dress stepped out. She brushed a lock of hair from her face, a faint smile playing on her lips. She appeared to be around thirty years old, with long hair cascading over her shoulders. Her gentle and demure bearing was that of a lady from a prominent family.
Tu Su's defeat is certainly not good news. I had intended to use that promising young man to swiftly eliminate Chen Yang.
"He killed Zhou Jinshui right in front of Tu Shen, and now he's using Tu Su to threaten the Imperial Clan, telling them to back off and stay away from the Chen Family," Gu Xiulan said, her eyes flashing with extre coldness.
He's the one who severed Gu Tianxing's arm and even gravely injured Gu Li. If such a talent were taken to Yuning Mountain for proper cultivation, he could beco another top-tier prodigy. Regrettably, we are already enemies. Assimilating him is impossible; he can only be destroyed. Otherwise, if other powers were to discover such a monstrous talent, they would fight tooth and nail for him.
"Get ready. We're going."
The woman, Gu Zhiqing, instructed Gu Xiulan before walking back into the suite.
Gu Zhiqing loved to travel through mountains and rivers, and she had been wandering the Myriad Mile Territory for the last six months. Just yesterday, she had received a sudden ssage from the Biluo Sword Valley. It stated that her cousin, Gu Tianxing, had an arm crippled and requested that she go to Cangyun City to assist the Imperial Clan in eliminating the perpetrator.
They already have the Imperial Clan, and yet they still need my help? Gu Zhiqing grew curious. Just what kind of man is he?
「The river wind howled, lifting Chen Yang's cloak.」
"You... you better release right now! Otherwise, you will die today without a place for burial!" Tu Su shouted.
I never dread I would end up in such a predicant. Hung in mid-air like a dog, impaled on a sword?
A slight smile touched Chen Yang's lips. These so-called mbers of the Imperial Clan... They really do have a sense of superiority ingrained in their very bones, believing their status entitles them to crush anyone and anything.
Just as the Imperial Clan mbers on the opposite bank were about to erupt with more furious rebukes, Chen Yang withdrew his right hand.
SQUELCH!
The Traveling Dragon Sword was pulled free. Tu Su crashed to the ground, and Chen Yang imdiately stomped on his face. Blood trailed down the sword's blade, dripping slowly onto the earth.
His movents were fluid and seamless.
The sudden, piercing pain nearly caused Tu Su to faint.
"You... you..."
The foot pressed down, plunging half of his body into the mud. He felt the aura of death enveloping him, and his heart felt as if it would burst.
"Let... let go!" The young master of the Imperial Clan had lost all of his earlier ferocity and resentnt. He shouted with all his might, "If you let go now, I guarantee you can leave this place alive today!"
THUMP!
Chen Yang said nothing, simply stomping down harder.
"Chen Yang, you've gone too far!"
At that critical mont, a deep voice thundered down from the sky, shattering the deathly silence of the riverbank. A middle-aged man in a blue robe, hands clasped behind his back, shot towards them.
"Father!" Tu Su cried out, overjoyed.
The imposing man stopped just before Chen Yang. His arrival was sowhat unexpected, even to the other Imperial Clan mbers, but not entirely a surprise. It was Tu Changfeng, Tu Su's father.
"Oh?" Chen Yang turned, asking with great interest, "And how, I wonder, have I gone too far?"
"He is a direct descendant of the Imperial Clan! How can you humiliate him like this?" Tu Changfeng rebuked sternly.
Chen Yang laughed. "He was the one who provoked . He was the one who challenged to a fight. Now that he's lost, you old geezers co jumping out one after another. What, you can't stand to lose?"
Tu Changfeng was left speechless.
"Is this how your so-called Imperial Clan operates? So utterly shaless?"
Again, Tu Changfeng had no reply.
"Hmph!" Knowing he had no ground to stand on, Tu Changfeng changed the subject. He said coldly, "Insolent beast, I'll give you one chance. Release my son imdiately, or I will annihilate your entire clan."
Chen Yang's eyes narrowed into slits. "Annihilate my entire clan?"
His icy tone carried a monstrous pressure, causing Tu Changfeng's expression to flicker. He could clearly feel an indescribable killing intent.
"I dare you to say that again."
Tu Changfeng fell silent.
BOOM!
The next second, Chen Yang shot forward.
Threads of golden light stretched taut and shot out like arrows. Simultaneously, his battle sword hacked down with imnse force.
The air itself seed to split as Sword Qi soared to the heavens. A visibly ferocious power churned and pressed down upon Tu Changfeng's head.
"You're courting death!" Tu Changfeng sneered, lightly raising his right hand. With his palm facing the sky, a dazzling starlight began to rapidly condense.
The light flared, obscuring the sun and sky.
What appeared to be a simple palm strike was, in fact, the ultimate technique of a Heaven Saint expert. Few could survive such a blow.
BOOM!
Amidst the explosive collision, the battle sword shot forward, drawing a brilliant line through the void and piercing straight through the palm print.
Tu Changfeng was forced back several steps, attempting to dissipate the sword strike's impact. After flying back dozens of ters, this high-ranking core mber of the Imperial Clan, a man of prestigious standing, crashed to the ground, landing hard on both knees.
"Annihilate my entire clan? You?" Chen Yang demanded coldly, holding his sword in one hand with the other clasped behind his back. "Hmm?!"
Tu Changfeng was speechless.
The entire crowd was stunned into silence.
He's... just too powerful!
