Chen Yang's rhetorical question was like adding insult to injury, causing Tu Changfeng's face to turn deathly pale with sha.

"You... you truly possess the strength to challenge the Divine Conquest."

Tu Changfeng looked as if he had seen the most terrifying thing imaginable. His face ashen, he stared at Chen Yang and bellowed, "Your very existence threatens the established order of this world. You cannot be allowed to live."

"That's not for you to worry about."

It wasn't the first ti Chen Yang had heard this sentint. Just because I have decent talent and a chance to break free from the confines of the Saint realm to step into the Divine Conquest, it's a matter of course that I must be killed? Or is it that, aside from a select few, no one else is allowed to reach that level, and anyone showing the slightest potential must be snuffed out? What kind of bullshit logic is that?

SCHWING!

With a flash of his sword, Tu Changfeng, who had been about to say more, felt a sudden chill in his throat.

Lowering his Traveling Dragon Sword, Chen Yang turned his back on him. The river wind howled, lifting the ends of his hair. His figure was imposing.

BOOM!!

Tu Changfeng, who had just scrambled up from the ground, hastily clutched his neck as blood spurted out. He staggered a few steps and finally collapsed, his life extinguished.

"This…" The mbers of the Imperial Clan present were all dumbstruck. They had co to aid Tu Su but ended up dying before their mission could even begin.

Who could have possibly predicted this? What was supposed to be a hunt, with the Imperial Clan as the self-proclaid hunters, had now turned on its head. In just half an hour, two of their experts had been slain by the supposed prey. That man is simply monstrous.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

The fierce wind roared like a drum, and dark clouds roiled overhead. The blazing sun was instantly swallowed, replaced by a profound chill and raindrops the size of beans. Another torrential downpour began. The river's current grew fierce and rapid. Huge waves crashed against the shore, churning the water into a white foam as it flowed endlessly onward.

"No, no..."

Tu Su, having just struggled up from the mud, hadn't yet recovered from the shock of his father's death when he saw Chen Yang coming straight for him. He scrambled backward, shaking his head frantically like a rattle.

Only now did he truly understand why Chen Yang had never considered him an opponent. Thinking back, his previous actions and words seed so appallingly childish, a complete joke.

SCHWING!

His shoulder blade was pierced by a sword. Chen Yang hoisted him up on the blade, then kicked a piece of broken wood into the river.

BOOM!

Chen Yang leaped onto the driftwood, shooting across the water like a swordfish. He sliced through the waves, cutting a direct path for the opposite shore.

"You want to kill ? Fine! I, Chen Yang, have co to you!"

With one hand behind his back, Chen Yang stood upon the driftwood, riding the river's fury. He crossed the Qingyuan River against the tempestuous storm, leaving an astounding silvery wake behind him. The massive commotion sounded like an army of a hundred thousand battling on a field of war.

On the opposite bank, a gaunt old man stood beside Tu Shen. Most of his body was cloaked in a black robe, and his inverted, triangular eyes were as sinister and cold as a lurking viper. After glancing at Chen Shangwu in the distance, he sneered, revealing a set of yellowed teeth, and cackled, "Elder, shall I go capture Chen Shangwu?"

"No need!" Tu Shen's gaze was dark. Two of his clansn had been killed in succession, and in front of so many worthless ants, the Imperial Clan had utterly lost face. If they didn't reclaim their honor swiftly, they would beco a laughingstock.

Tu Shen waved his hand dismissively and said somberly, "The Chen Family is already fish on the chopping board. Let's dispose of this trash first."

"But, Young Master Tu Su..." the gaunt elder's eyebrows rose, his sinister expression deepening. His opponent had, after all, secured a hostage. With Tu Su in his hands, their own were tied.

Tu Shen's eyes flickered coldly. "Don't bother with him."

"But..."

"This is no one's fault but his own," Tu Shen declared, his tone final. "He can only bla his own weakness and his bad luck."

"I will go finish him off right now!" The gaunt old man said no more and turned, rushing toward the Qingyuan River.

WHOOSH.

A bamboo pole shot out across the river's surface. Wielding a war spear—incomplete but blazing with a dazzling light—the gaunt old man followed. The pole moved like an arrow released from a bow, its speed kicking up a vast mist behind it, resembling an enraged flood dragon.

As a veteran Heaven Saint master, his strength was incomparable to the likes of Tu Changfeng.

Yes, Chen Yang has displayed great strength, but in my eyes, it's still nothing worth ntioning.

In monts, they were less than ten ters apart. The gaunt old man raised his spear, but Chen Yang remained motionless.

Not until the distance closed to five ters did Chen Yang's right hand tremble. In an instant, a streak of silver light flashed through the air. Before the gaunt old man could react, the silver light flared brilliantly, tearing through the void.

The gaunt old man paled in shock. "This... this..." His incomplete spear shattered instantly.

BOOM!

At the sa mont, the two shot past each other.

The hair on the gaunt old man's body stood on end. He was about to strike when a cold light grazed his neck, the force of its passage exploding outward. As for Tu Su, who had been impaled on the sword, he had already been obliterated into a bloody mist, washed away by the downpour.

CLANG!!

The longsword returned to its sheath.

The Sword Qi that filled the air dissipated into nothing.

Chen Yang, hands clasped behind his back, continued straight toward the opposite bank.

The gaunt old man fell straight backward, disappearing into the raging waves.

This scene left everyone, whether on the banks of the Qingyuan River or in front of their screens, utterly dumbstruck. Their jaws hung open wide enough to fit a fist. He's... he's just too ferocious! One exchange, one strike, and he was decapitated.

"It seems the Imperial Clan isn't as strong as everyone thought. Or maybe the Forr Chief Military Commander's strength was just vastly underestimated?"

"Whatever the case, I just hope Chen Yang can survive!"

"Survive!"

At that mont, in the vast Cangyun City, countless people were murmuring this phrase. They no longer cared about rectifying chaos or changing regis. They only wanted him to live. That was all.

"Sigh." Chen Shangwu sighed deeply, a look of helplessness on his face. You stupid kid, after killing Tu Su, you should have run! Run as far as you could! Couldn't you have just waited until you were strong enough to co back and slaughter them all? Even if the rest of us die, as long as you're alive, the Chen Family isn't extinct! There's still hope! The more he thought, the angrier the old man beca, finally blurting out, "Do you have a brain?!"

BOOM!

As Chen Yang reached the shore and was about to leap into the air, Tu Shen drew his saber.

An overwhelming sonic boom exploded in the air. It was followed by a dazzling beam of saber light that descended upon the eight-hundred-ter-wide Qingyuan River. Accompanied by a thunderous roar, two massive white waves were thrown to either side.

A single slash.

The eight-hundred-ter-wide Qingyuan River was cleaved in two, a chasm ripped through the water.
