[VRMMO] Chaos Doctor Chapter 25 – Town

I packed up my most valuable things that were inside the hideout and left it.

Honestly, I didn't wanted to leave this place at all cost, but the circumstances force to.

But who knows?

Maybe I will find a new hideout and I will able to take all the remaining stuff from there. I'm the only one with the password to enter that place anyway.

I took my stuff and shut the door, leaving the hideout sealed.

My next destination is the town called Wild.

But there is a problem.

Because of the current situation with the city, it will be right next to the impossible to gain any transport.

So, I have to walk…... What a fun.

The road was quiet long, but it was at least empty and safe, so I didn't run into problems like so sort of randomly encountering bandits or sothing.

So, it was straight up boring.

Well, honestly my goal was to get to the next city, but there is a problem.

The problem is my high [Notoriety].

I don't know if NPCs can see if I'm criminal or sothing and I need to lay low anyway.

So pretty much I will spend minimal amount of ti in the settlents.

I've used any remaining materials to improve my current equipnt, so I should survive on my own for so ti.

But the problem cos after worlds when I level up a lot.

Truth to be told, the existence of the titles and how easy you can get so of them beca widely known.

But by the look of things, the amount of titles I have is WAY more than any of the players.

Well, it wasn't enough though.

Even if I raise the skill level, I'm lacking in any "Strong stuff", so pretty much my next plague will be probably weak like hell like my last one.

Honestly, the only reason why my previous plague even killed a single person was because of the chaos.

And honestly, there is also the fact that the higher level people, both NPCs and the players would have not been bothered by that plague one bit.

I also injected myself to see the effects and oh boy, the poison resistance works. Shit.

That ans you can counter plagues with so stuff.

So pretty much, at higher level the plague will be completely useless, unlessens I got better at alchemy, raise the plague creation level, raise my own level and get access to new materials.

Pretty much, the plague is no longer my main weapon for now…. Maybe I fucked up a bit by choosing it at my first research….

Well, I did gained a lot of data and experience, so let's just say that the experints were sowhat successful?

But honestly, considering the current situation it's the best idea to max out the alchemist and the poison mage so I can max out the research class and start the new research already.

Hm….

Honestly, I need so research that would boost my own strength or sothing…. But for now, let's just focus on the task at hand…... That is just walking…. On the peaceful road…. Em…. How long will I have to walk for?

[After very extrely long and peaceful walk later.]

I took out my mask, not the plague doctor one, but the wooden mask I used while selling potions and approached the town.

"Hm? Halt." – said the guard near the entrance to the town.

"Yes? Is sothing wrong?" – asked Phantasia, being ready to take out a hidden knife from his sleeve.

"Why are you wearing a mask?"

"Oh… That? Well, its bit complicated."

"I'm an adventure and alchemist, pretty talented one if I may say so myself…. But that kind of made things extrely annoying for , since people harassed for my potions."

"If you like, I can take off my mask, since I'm currently not selling potions and stuff."

"…. No… Wait. Did you ca from Mim city?!"

"Yea…. Is that a problem?"

The guard put his spear at the Phantasia.

"Sir. I'm going to ask you sothing important, are you infected?" – asked the guard in panic.

"Em…. Nope."

"If anything, the plague is straight up gone." – replied Phantasia.

"Wait, what?" – asked the confused guard.

"Yeb."

"It's gone."

"You didn't heard the…. Wait, you couldn't since nobody wanted to get near it."

"So…. Do I have you explain the whole situation to you or?"

"Em…. Please wait a mont." – said the guard before leaving.

(Huh…. It didn't seem to realize I was a criminal?)

(I guess the NPCs can't tell if I have [Notoriety].)

(But even if they can't, the system warned that they can still see commit the cri and all, and those NPCs act like real people. I even got a bounty as "Doctor".)

(However, if I die with this high [Notoriety], I'm straight up fucked.)

I waited a bit and so town guard ca together with the guy from before, apparently, he was the head of the town guards…. Huh…. I again et the leader of the guards?

Kind of strange…. But okay?

Anyway, he wanted an explanation what happened to the Min.

I told him everything.

About the fact that the plague was caused by sothing, but the plague had mayor weaknesses that was easily exploited to the point it was easily gotten rid off.

There was no use hiding it or giving the false report, since they would find it out sooner or later.

Anyway, they did kind of though I was lying, since well… Plague disappearing in one day and all like a miracle?

Well, the reason why it was able to disappear like that was because I sucked.

I just told them that if he doesn't trust , he can send so n to confirm it.

Honestly, he was bit confused and he didn't knew if I was speaking truth and all, considering how stupidly it sound for the plague to disappear like that, but he decided to look into it.

They checked if I had plague, but I was safe, so they let inside the city.

He also asked about the mask, but I told him the situation and told him that I don't need to wear it, unless I'm doing business, I even just took it off and showed my face to him.

(Honestly, I don't think I will wear this mask for so ti, since I there is straight up no players in here.)

(But still, its huge relief that they don't know that I'm wanted criminal or the fact that I'm the "Doctor".)

(However, with how things are, I will have to be an "GOOD PERSON" and grow my strength quietly so I won't make sa mistake again.)

"Hm…. Okay. I understand your situation, but please try not to wear this mask unless you are doing business like you said." – said the dark elf guard.

"I don't want any weird rumors or stuff happening because of a creepy man wearing mask and walking around the town."

"Understand." – said Phantasia while putting away the mask.

(Welp, that one problem out of the way.)

(Honestly, I thought I would have to camp in the forest or sothing in order not to get thrown into prison.)

(But the main problem is lack of base.)

(How the hell I will make stuff? Does this place has public workshop like the Mim city?)

"Can I ask a question? Does this place has public workshop?"

"I used to have my own workshop, but because of the state of the Min, I was forced to move out."

"However, like I said before, beside being adventure that hunt monsters, I'm also an item maker, an alchemist and sotis blacksmith."

"So yea… Please tell that there is a public workshop in this town."

"Oh. Yes, there is one. Bit old and not used very often, but there is one." – said the young man.

"Oh, thank god." – said relieved Phantasia.

(Well, its better than nothing, but there are still lot of problems.)

(And quiet few annoying ones.)

(Like what the fuck I do with the inventory and backpack filled with my tools and other stuff?)

(Or how much ti I have before players co here and force to share hunting grounds with them.)

(There is also the fact that I cannot do anything evil or anything or I that I can't experint in peace without new base.)
