"You're the new vampire... the one lucky enough to get his hands on a daylight ring," Greta said, her voice cool, smooth—like velvet laced with poison.
She didn't smile. No expression at all. Just cold, piercing eyes that studied Lucifer like he was sothing beneath her heel.
Greta Bloom—the infamous coven leader of the Lunar Bloom.
She stepped forward slowly, hips swaying, heels clicking softly on the marble floor. The dim light from the chandelier above cast a soft glow on her flawless skin. Her long silver hair flowed like liquid silk down her back, with a single braid wrapped around her crown like a tiara. Her black dress hugged every curve, slit high on one side, revealing legs that moved like they owned the world.
Her lips were blood-red, full, and dangerous. And her eyes—sharp violet, glowing faintly—like they could see through every lie, every secret. She slled of night-blooming jasmine and sothing darker... older.
Lucifer raised an eyebrow. "Still as dramatic as ever, Aunt Greta."
She stopped just a few feet from him. "And you're still as arrogant as your father."
Lucifer's smirk faltered for a second. But only for a second.
"I take it Remu told you why I'm here?"
Greta tilted her head slightly, circling him like a predator studying prey.
"She told enough," she said. "You want to replicate a ring that not even the oldest witches can make. You co here... cocky... without offering tribute or even respect."
Lucifer chuckled. "I didn't realize I was supposed to bow."
"You're not," Greta whispered, now standing behind him. Her breath brushed against his neck. "But it might've been cute to see you try."
Lucifer turned his head slightly. "Are you going to help or not?"
Greta leaned closer, lips almost touching his ear. "That depends... vampire. What are you willing to give in return?"
Lucifer let out a low chuckle, eyes glowing a deeper shade of crimson. "I still don't get it. What I'm offering you is the chance to recreate a lost relic. A tool that could give you full control over the vampire world. That's power. Real power. And I know damn well that's what you want. Feels like a fair enough tribute, doesn't it?"
Greta crossed her arms under her chest, tilting her head as she studied him. For a mont, there was silence—just the distant ticking of an old grandfather clock in the corner.
"I liked you better when you were human," she said, her voice calm but sharp. "You weren't this clever back then. This manipulative."
She stepped closer, the soft rustle of her dress the only sound now. Her violet eyes locked with his, and a slow, sadistic smile curled on her lips.
"If things were simple, I would've started mass-producing that ring the second I saw it. Believe , the thought crossed my mind. But there's one tiny problem."
She turned away and walked towards the window, pulling the curtain aside just a little. A sliver of moonlight lit up her silhouette—elegant, deadly.
"To make a true daylight ring... one that works like yours... it needs sothing rare," she said softly. "Sothing ancient. The blood of a vampire Progenitor."
She turned back, the moonlight now casting an eerie glow on her face.
"And as far as I know," she added, voice low, "we don't have any of those lying around."
She walked back toward him and placed a finger lightly on his chest.
"That makes you the only one. The only vampire with this kind of power. Which is why I asked you here."
Lucifer raised a brow. "To help?"
"To warn you," Greta whispered. "Because of the history I have with your mother... I owe her that much."
Her touch lingered for just a second longer before she pulled away, her seductive mask slipping for a flicker—revealing sothing colder underneath. Sothing dangerous.
Lucifer's eyes narrowed. "What do you an by my mother? I don't have a mother. So let's not waste ti—let's go back to the daylight ring."
His tone was sharp. Cold.
The tension in the room spiked instantly.
He didn't care to hide his irritation. The very word mother made sothing twist in his chest. To him, there were no parents. No loving arms. No warm mories. Only darkness. Only the cold dirt he woke up in that night, alone.
When she said 'You're just as arrogant as your father'
His first thought was Francisca's father. He'd been like a father figure to him—sort of. But then... mother? Greta never liked Francisca's mom. They'd never even spoken, let alone shared sothing as deep as history.
So that could only an one thing.
She was talking about his real parents.
And that hit a nerve.
If he were still human, maybe he'd want to know more. Maybe he'd ask questions. But that curiosity burned away the day he died. The day he woke up as sothing else.
Now? He didn't give a damn.
Greta noticed the shift in his aura. The way his energy closed off. She didn't push.
"Fine," she said, brushing her silver-blonde hair back behind her ear. "Let's stick to the ring then."
She walked over to a nearby shelf and ran her fingers along a line of old grimoires before turning back to him.
"The daylight ring... there's nothing more we can do about it. Like I said, it's one of a kind. Keep it hidden, Lucifer. Don't show it off. Or you'll attract every greedy bloodsucker from here to the other side of the world."
She looked at him one more ti. Not as the coven leader. Not as the cold, seductive witch.
But as soone who knew things he didn't.
Things he might never want to hear.
He wouldn't understand what his parents gave up... just to make sure he survived.
And Greta wouldn't be the one to tell him. Not yet.
Lucifer took a deep breath and exhaled, "what if I told you I can get you the Progenitor's blood."
