Now reading: Chapter 76: The Power Of Remu from Vampire Progenitor System, a Fantasy novel by Chaosgod24.

The air cracked like breaking bone as Remu lifted her hand, fingers trembling—not with fear, but with rage. The grimoire beside her spun violently, its pages flaring with black fire as the ground beneath her feet split open.

Then—

BOOM!!!

A monstrous eruption burst from the earth behind her, shaking the entire dinsion. Black stone and violet fire launched skyward as sothing crawled out. No—many sothings.

Massive limbs. Glowing red eyes. Screeches that scraped against the mind.

Constructs.

Six in total—towering monsters, easily Class A threat levels. Each one twisted and grotesque in its own way. One had writhing tentacles made of screaming shadows. Another had a maw in its chest that opened like a gate to the void. One was shaped like a giant spider—but its legs were made of blades, and its abdon was pulsing like it had sothing alive trapped inside.

Mob, Temmy, and Ruka all froze.

That spider.

That damn spider.

The mory hit them instantly—the fight in the forest. The way it had nearly killed them. The fear. The screaming. The way it regenerated like a nightmare.

And now...

Now there were six of them.

Temmy’s lips parted. "...No way."

Mob said nothing. His eyes narrowed. He could feel it. The pressure. The control. The power that held those monsters together was Remu’s now.

Even Ruka, cocky as he could be, took a step back. "She’s not the sa. This isn’t just so tantrum..."

Their eyes shifted to Lucifer.

He wasn’t moving. Wasn’t speaking.

He was just... watching her.

Remu floated a few inches off the ground now. Her coat flared in the windless air. Her hair danced like it was underwater. And her face—twisted. Grinning. Eyes too wide. Like a puppet held together by pure fury.

The grimoire snapped shut with a thunderclap.

"I gave you all a chance," Remu’s voice echoed, layered with sothing inhuman beneath it.

The mont she spoke, the constructs charged.

A wave of hell slamd toward them like a storm of claws, teeth, and death.

Angel was the first to move, leaping into the air with a guttural snarl, her body shifting mid-jump. Fur ripped through her skin, her limbs elongated, and her fangs glinted under the dim, blood-red light.

"Ken, left side!" she shouted.

"Got it!" Ken’s voice ca from below, already half-shifted into his beast form, muscles bulging, fur bristling. He slamd a clawed fist into the side of a construct made of bone and shadow. It didn’t even flinch.

Ken’s eyes widened. "The hell?"

The monster responded with a brutal swing, backhanding him through a black pillar. The stone cracked on impact, and Ken hit the ground with a painful grunt, coughing blood.

Angel’s claws tore into another creature’s neck—but it split apart, turning into smoke, then reford behind her.

She spun too slow.

CRACK!

A bone tentacle wrapped around her torso and slamd her into the ground like a ragdoll. She gasped, back arching as she hit hard enough to shatter stone.

"Angel!" Temmy shouted.

But she couldn’t move—her own monster was on her. The thing had no face, just a twisting, writhing shape that hissed like boiling water. Temmy extended both hands, summoning spirit chains that tried to bind it—but it absorbed them like syrup.

"Oh what the actual fu—"

It lunged. She barely dodged.

BOOM!

The ground she was just on exploded as it missed, slamming down hard enough to leave a five-foot crater. Temmy rolled, blood running down her cheek.

Nearby, Mob dodged low beneath a scythe-like limb, spinning and smashing an elbow into one monster’s leg. The leg bent—but not the way it should have. It coiled like a snake and wrapped around his arm.

Mob’s expression darkened.

He growled, "Bad choice."

His entire arm pulsed, divine energy flooding through it—and he blew the damn limb apart in a shockwave of white light. But then the monster’s torso grew another one. Right in front of him.

WHAM!

It decked him square in the face.

He flew back and tumbled across the cracked ground, carving a groove into the stone.

Ella, fangs bared and eyes glowing crimson, zipped across the battlefield in a blur of motion. She landed a perfect strike—a spike of blood hardened like steel straight through a monster’s core.

It scread.

But then its core twisted, turning the spike into blood again—and spit it back out at her like a bullet.

She gasped, raising a shield just in ti. But the impact sent her skidding backwards, boots digging lines into the stone. She growled, already panting.

"What even are these things?"

"They’re her will," Mob said, pushing himself to his feet again, nose bleeding. "They don’t have rules. They do what she feels."

Francisca was further back, weaving between blows, tails flicking. Her foxfire swirled like a dance of light, burning through bits of the serpent construct harassing her. But even as she fried parts of it—it regenerated.

Every ti she blasted a hole through it, it knit itself together again.

She was fast. Precise. But she was running out of room.

"I can’t keep this up," she said through clenched teeth. Her body glowed faintly gold—her aura stretching thin.

"Francisca!" Ruka dove in from above, fire erupting from his arms. His cambion wings flared, and he dropped a fire bomb straight onto the snake’s head.

BOOM!

Flas erupted. The snake reeled—but didn’t stop.

It laughed. A gurgling, sloshing laugh.

"You’ve got to be kidding ," Ruka said. "This thing has lungs?"

Then a tentacle whipped him across the chest.

Blood flew.

He hit the ground hard, choking.

Temmy ran to him, trying to shield him as her monster ca after them both now.

"This is insane," she panted. "We’re getting worked."

Mob blocked a blow from another beast and shouted, "Where the hell is Lucifer?!"

"Busy," Ella snapped, backflipping over a lunging brute. "We handle this!"

But even she didn’t believe that anymore.

They were bleeding. Slowing down. Getting tossed around.

Even Ken, who usually laughed through pain, was limping now, fur matted with blood.

Angel’s shoulder was dislocated. She popped it back into place and scread.

Francisca’s aura was flickering—tails dimming.

Ruka was coughing up black blood.

Temmy could barely breathe.

Mob’s shirt was soaked red.

And the monsters?

Still laughing.

Still alive.

Remu watched it all from above, floating like a queen of death. Her eyes glowed, and the grimoire flared again.

The constructs started to glow too—getting stronger.

"She’s feeding them more!" Ella shouted. "We’re running out of ti!"

Mob gritted his teeth, charging one last ti.

And then—right before the monsters crushed them—Lucifer moved.

One step.

Then two.

Then the entire battlefield froze for half a second.

The constructs turned. All six of them. Slowly.

Lucifer raised a hand.

"Enough."

CRACK!

The ground under him split clean through, stretching for miles. Red sigils burst across his skin as the realm shook from his presence alone.

The monsters flinched.

Remu’s eyes narrowed.

And just like that—the tide turned.

But for the ones on the ground?

It was blood, dirt, fire, and pain.

And they weren’t sure if they could even stand up again.
