The rooftop was silent, save for the distant wails and the low hum of the tear in the sky. The air was thick with tension, the kind that made every breath feel like a gamble.

Lucifer stood at the edge, his coat billowing in the wind, eyes fixed on the two figures before him. Rey and Vina were locked in a heated argunt, their voices rising and falling like waves crashing against rocks.

"You’re not thinking straight, Vina!" Rey’s voice was desperate, pleading. "Attacking Lucifer won’t solve anything. It’ll only make things worse."

Vina’s eyes were cold, her stance rigid. "You think I don’t know that? But Daniel’s breathing down our necks. He wants results, and if delivering Lucifer buys us ti, then so be it."

Rey stepped closer, his hands raised in a calming gesture. "There’s another way. Lucifer is a prince of the demon realm. If we explain everything, maybe he’ll understand."

Vina scoffed, her gaze unwavering. "I already know who he is. That doesn’t change anything."

Lucifer sighed, the sound barely audible over the wind. "Enough with the bickering," he called out, his voice cutting through the tension like a knife. "Let’s fight."

Both Rey and Vina turned to face him, surprise evident on their faces.

Vina narrowed her eyes. "How did you get here without sensing you?"

Lucifer smirked, his eyes glinting with amusent. "You’re not the only one with tricks up your sleeve."

Rey stepped between them, his arms outstretched. "Please, both of you. This isn’t the ti or place for this."

Lucifer’s gaze hardened. "She attacked , Rey. Bit , hoping to kill . Do you expect to just let that slide?"

"You attacked my brother," Vina said, her voice steady but burning beneath. "You don’t expect not to retaliate."

Lucifer’s gaze didn’t waver. His crimson eyes glinted under the dim sky as he took a slow step forward.

"Last I checked," he said, "you barged into my ho, dragging one of my people like a trophy... and you also attacked my brother. So don’t stand there acting like you’re so righteous guardian."

Vina narrowed her eyes. "It wasn’t personal."

Lucifer tilted his head slightly, a cold grin touching his lips. "You tried to kill . You bit —"

"I thought it would work," Vina cut in, her voice rising. "That a werewolf bite would kill you. That it would end everything before it got worse."

Lucifer’s expression darkened.

"You thought wrong," he said. "And now you’re here, what? To try again?"

Vina hesitated, her jaw clenched, the guilt flickering in her eyes for just a second—before it vanished behind steel again.

"I’m here because Daniel told sothing," she said. "He told you’re his brother. He wants to eliminate you and that I should deliver you to him."

Lucifer’s eyes narrowed, the wind pulling at his hair as he stared Vina down.

"So that’s it?" he said, voice quiet but razor-sharp. "You didn’t even know back then. You weren’t following orders. You just... chose to try and kill . Because it was easy. Because soone told you I was dangerous."

Vina didn’t flinch. Her arms crossed, her stance confident. "I didn’t need to know you. I saw enough. A vampire with unchecked power. That’s dangerous on any day of the week."

Lucifer gave a small, bitter laugh. "So you bit . Hoped I’d die. Never looked back."

She shrugged. "If it had worked, maybe things would be simpler right now."

Rey moved again, trying to defuse the rising tension. "Vina, this isn’t the way. You think Daniel won’t toss you aside once he gets what he wants?"

Vina shot him a glare. "And what do you want, Rey? To beg him for forgiveness? Join Lucifer’s little cult and kneel? Don’t lecture about choices. You’re just scared."

Rey’s jaw tightened, but he didn’t respond.

Lucifer stepped forward again, slow, deliberate. "You think dragging to Daniel makes you safe? That he’ll pat your head and call it even? You’re just another pawn to him."

Vina’s eyes flickered, but her face stayed neutral. "I’m not interested in loyalty. I’m interested in surviving. And right now, delivering you buys more ti than standing here talking."

Lucifer’s lips curled into a humorless smile. "Then let’s stop pretending. You’re not here to reason. You’re not here to talk. You ca to chain up and walk like a dog back to your master."

Her expression didn’t change.

"So," he said, voice dipping lower, "why haven’t you tried yet? Is it because your brother is here and safe or what.."

The rooftop stilled.

Lucifer’s voice lingered in the air like smoke after a fla.

"...’Cause I’m itching for a rematch."

Rey’s eyes darted between them. "Lucifer—wait—!"

But he was too slow.

CRACK.

The sound echoed across the city like a thunderclap.

Rey didn’t even have ti to react. One second he was standing between them, arms out in a desperate attempt to stop the fight—and the next, he was on the ground, body twisted, eyes wide in shock, a red mark glowing across his jaw.

He didn’t even see it coming.

Lucifer stood over him, arm still outstretched from the strike, breathing steady. His movents had been a blur—faster than a blink. Almost like he teleported.

Vina flinched. Her body tensed, every instinct screaming to shift, to react, to do sothing—but even she hadn’t seen the hit land.

Rey groaned faintly on the ground. Unconscious.

Lucifer didn’t even look at him. His eyes were fixed on Vina, glowing dim under the blood-streaked sky.

"I’m done talking," he said.

Vina’s fingers twitched, claws threatening to surface. "That was uncalled for."

"No," Lucifer said flatly. "That was overdue."

The sky above rumbled as if responding to the tension on the rooftop. The tear in the sky pulsed again, throwing streaks of dark red light across their faces. Sirens howled in the distance. Sowhere below, people scread as monsters tore through the streets.

But here—up here—there was only one war.

Lucifer versus the one who tried to end him.

He took a slow step forward, boots scraping against gravel. "You still want to chain up?" he asked, tone like ice. "You still think you’re doing the world a favor?"

Vina didn’t answer. She didn’t blink. But her stance dropped a little—ready now. She knew what this ant.

Lucifer’s eyes flicked down at Rey’s still form on the rooftop floor. "He’ll be fine. Might wake up with a headache... but at least he’ll stay out of this now."

Vina’s fists clenched. "He didn’t deserve that."

Lucifer smirked, just a little. "Neither did I."

The words hit harder than the punch. She didn’t say anything.

Lucifer rolled his shoulders once, a faint pulse of red magic trailing off him like mist. His entire presence shifted—not monstrous, not frenzied. Just sharp. Dangerous.

"I’ve waited for this," he said, voice low. "You thought you were doing the right thing. That biting would be the end of it. That it wouldn’t co back to bite you."

Vina bared her fangs, eyes beginning to glow.

"You ready to settle this or not?"

Lucifer stepped into stance. "Oh, I’m past ready."

And with the sky bleeding above and the city falling apart below—

The rematch began.
