"Brother! It’s , it’s Xue’er! Wake up!" Mu Xue scread, her voice choked with tears.
Perhaps her voice truly managed to get through to Mu He. His movents faltered for a mont, and he actually stopped.
"ROAR!"
But soon, crimson once again filled his eyes. With a great roar, Mu He lunged, grabbing Mu Xue by both arms with one hand.
Mu Xue fell into despair. The most terrifying part was that she had brought all of this upon herself!
"Save us... I’m begging you!"
In her desperation, Mu Xue could only turn her pleading gaze to Niu Kexin, who stood not far away. She placed her last shred of hope on her, praying that Niu Kexin would forget their past grievances and lend a hand.
Niu Kexin was also stunned by the scene unfolding before her.
’What is even happening right now?’
"I know I was wrong! I’m so sorry! Please, help ! Even if you won’t help , please help my brother! He had no idea about any of this. If he really does... that... to , when he cos to his senses, he’ll definitely go mad or even kill himself!"
Two streams of hot tears flowed from the corners of Mu Xue’s eyes.
Niu Kexin hadn’t intended to get involved. She wanted to let Mu Xue reap what she had sown.
But Mu Xue’s last words moved her.
’That’s right, Mu He is innocent.’
’Considering how much Mu He values and protects Mu Xue, forcing him to violate his own sister... what a cruel thing to do!’
Furthermore, Mu He had taken very good care of her recently. Niu Kexin knew he was an exceptionally kind person and couldn’t bear to see him commit such a sin in a state of confusion.
Thinking of this, she sighed and decided to intervene.
Niu Kexin knew that doing this wouldn’t benefit her in any way, but she was going to do it anyway.
Because as a human being, you don’t always do things for profit or personal gain. Sotis, you do sothing simply because you know it’s the right thing to do.
It’s like respecting the old and caring for the young, or sacrificing oneself for others.
"ROAR!" Mu He bellowed, his eyes bloodshot.
Seeing that he was about to make his next move, Niu Kexin kicked a large rock, sending it flying toward him to draw his attention.
Mu He shattered the rock with a single punch, then looked up and let out an inhuman roar at Niu Kexin.
Niu Kexin seized the opportunity to flick a dicinal Pill with detoxifying properties, which flew right into Mu He’s mouth.
That was a detoxifying dicinal Cuisine that Mo Qi had specially prepared for Niu Kexin. How could its dicinal Power be weak?
The mont the dicinal Pill was swallowed, its effects beca apparent. The madness in Mu He’s eyes rapidly faded, replaced by confusion, contemplation, shock, anger, and finally, lingering fear!
"Xue’er, you’ve gone too far!"
As his consciousness cleared, he recalled everything that had happened.
He never would have dread that the sister he grew up with would do sothing like this.
Seeing Mu He co to his senses, Mu Xue breathed a sigh of relief, but at the sa ti, she knew she was in the wrong.
She lowered her head, not daring to make a sound, and silently took a new set of clothes from her Storage Space to put on.
Mu He was so furious he trembled all over. If Mu Xue weren’t his own sister, he would have killed her with a single palm strike right then and there.
After a long mont, he forcibly suppressed his anger and looked at Niu Kexin with an apologetic expression.
"Sworn sister... I don’t know if I’m even qualified to call you that anymore. I apologize for what Xue’er has done. I’m sorry!"
Niu Kexin turned her face away, unwilling to accept his apology.
’You’re the only innocent one here, Mu He. Mu Xue must pay the price!’
Seeing this, Mu He gave a helpless, bitter smile. "Don’t worry, I won’t protect Xue’er. Since she has done wrong, she will face the consequences. I will report this matter to our adoptive father and let him decide."
Niu Kexin was noncommittal. She didn’t care what decision their adoptive father, Mu Kongfu, would make. All she knew was that Mu Xue’s actions had severely touched her reverse scale.
She couldn’t imagine what would have happened if she didn’t have a poison-immune dicine. If she had fallen for the trap just like Mu He, and they had both turned into "beasts," how could she ever face Mo Qi again?
Could she tolerate living in this world if she were no longer pure?
The answer, of course, was no!
Even if Mo Qi wouldn’t despise her for it—and she was a hundred and ten percent sure he wouldn’t—she herself would never be able to get over it.
To Niu Kexin, Mo Qi was her spiritual pillar, her entire world.
And Mu Xue’s actions were, without a doubt, an invasion of that spiritual pillar, an attempt to plunder her entire world.
This enraged her more than if soone had simply tried to kill her.
To put it bluntly, it was impossible for Niu Kexin to forgive Mu Xue.
"Sworn sister, I..." Just as Mu He was about to say more, Niu Kexin’s sharp perception picked up on sothing amiss.
"Watch out! Get back!" she cried out in warning.
But it was too late.
A longsword appeared silently behind Mu He. Before he could react, it pierced through his heart, pinning him to the ground.
BOOM!
The ground shattered, with Mu He at the epicenter. Cracks spiderwebbed outward, covering a hundred-ter radius.
This alone was a testant to the imnse power of the attack.
"Quick... run... PTHOO!" Mu He spat out a large mouthful of blood before he could hold on no longer and passed out.
"Brother!" Mu Xue’s face went pale with fright. She wanted to rush forward and check on Mu He’s injuries but was deterred by the aura emanating from the longsword, unable to get close.
At that mont, a group of five figures appeared out of thin air.
Three of them were dressed in black cloaks that concealed their faces and figures.
The other two were young n who looked to be in their early twenties.
The n stood one behind the other. Both were handso and bore a slight resemblance to each other.
However, the one in front had a cold and aloof temperant. He wore a Golden Brocade Robe and naturally exuded an air of lofty superiority.
The one behind him was dressed in bright, flashy clothes. He was obnoxiously flamboyant, with the corners of his mouth turned up in a sinister smirk.
"Well, well, not bad. You actually detected my Shadowless Sword ahead of ti. Since when did the Mortal District produce soone like that? And a beautiful little thing, at that!"
The flashily dressed man chuckled, his gaze on Niu Kexin filled with curiosity and a sense of possession.
Niu Kexin’s brows knitted together. The man’s gaze disgusted her.
"In order to descend to this shithole, I’ve gone a full two days without touching a woman. What a coincidence. Your talent isn’t bad. You’re qualified to be my plaything."
