A bad premonition arose in Nan Jue's heart. Ever since the Yangtze River flood season began, reports of bad news had flooded in from all the rivers, creeks, ferry ports, and dams.

Although there had been no bad news from the Songjiang Dam, making it seem like a relief for the command center, in a flood season with frequent monster invasions and a shortage of manpower, how could this area be the only one without problems?!

No news was the worst news.

Either the monsters had already breached it, controlling all channels of information to prevent reports from spreading, or the mages responsible for that location were hiding the truth, letting the problem rot while covering it up.

"Damn it, sothing's wrong."

Zhu ng cursed fiercely and called in one of the officers, asking angrily, "What's the situation at the Songjiang Dam right now? Who's in charge?!"

The military mage was montarily stunned, then quickly replied, "It's led by Tang Yue from the Judgnt Court, along with so city hunters."

Hearing this, Zhu ng frowned. "Tang Yue...?"

He recognized the na. She was a mber of the Hangzhou Judgnt Court, the niece of the Judgnt Chief Tang Zhong, and part of a hidden noble family.

Zhu ng, being a mber of the Judgnt Council himself, had conflicting political views with them but was still familiar with Tang Yue and her associates.

"Hmph, just a little girl who can't handle matters efficiently."

Zhu ng cursed again, then strode out of the command room. Standing outside the dock, he roared, "All reserve forces, gather up! Board the Sky Eagles and head to the Songjiang Dam for reinforcent!"

At his command, the troops quickly realized the urgency of the situation.

Before the Sky Eagles even took off, Zhu ng and Nan Jue had already activated their Wing Magic Tools, speeding towards the Songjiang Dam.

The air was abuzz with the roar of engines as the aerial forces moved en masse. Before they even reached their destination, a pungent stench of blood filled the air. Zhu ng's brows furrowed deeply, and the soldiers braced themselves for the worst-case scenario.

Upon arrival, the scene at the dam and reservoir shocked everyone. The water had turned a deep crimson, thick and viscous, making one wonder if there was even a single drop of clean water left. The surface was littered with the corpses of crocodile monsters, piled high like a mountain.

It was a sea of corpses and blood!

Seeing this, only one phrase ca to mind for everyone present.

anwhile, Zhu ng and the military mages spotted three people standing on the dam. Two of them, strikingly beautiful female mages, were seated in ditation, clearly replenishing their magical energy. The last figure was a young man standing tall, exuding a commanding presence. His sharp gaze and overwhelming killing intent made it clear that he had single-handedly held the line, demonstrating a prowess that could hold off a thousand foes.

Everyone gasped in astonishnt. One glance at the man was enough to understand that this was his doing. The cold indifference he showed toward the slaughter was not sothing an ordinary mage could possess.

As for the two female mages, though impressive in appearance, it was evident they were far less formidable in comparison.

A military mage murmured in shock, "My god, did he really hold the dam alone and slaughter at least a thousand monsters?"

"So, the Songjiang Port didn't report anything because one man stopped everything. They didn't need any reinforcents at all."

Nan Jue's emotions were complicated. She noticed that this man wasn't much older than herself, with a youthful face, suggesting he was a peer. At nineteen, she had already fought on the monster-infested battlefields, sitting in command rooms and gaining rich experience.

But compared to this man, who had single-handedly defended the Songjiang Port and slaughtered a thousand monsters, the gap was imasurable.

Hovering mid-air, Zhu ng sighed in relief upon seeing the intact dam. Thankfully, no catastrophe had occurred. His attention shifted to the young man, who had held his ground for three days and nights, letting not a single monster slip past. Zhu ng couldn't help but be impressed. Even many professional monster-hunting teams and military units couldn't achieve such results.

anwhile, Lu Jun, sensing a strong threat from above, glanced warily at the approaching aerial force. A large group of Sky Eagles descended from the heavens, carrying over a hundred elite mages, each at least mid-tier or higher, with a few high-tier mages in their ranks. Leading them was a burly man with a square face, radiating an air of justice and authority. His imposing stature and councilor robes marked him as a figure of great importance.

Next to him stood a valiant female officer and a silent, unassuming chief guard.

Tang Yue, startled by the sight, quickly stood up and muttered, "Councilor Zhu ng? Why is he personally here?"

Hearing this, Lu Jun searched his mory and recognized the na.

Zhu ng was a mber of the Forbidden City Magic Association, a Councilman of the Judgent Court, and a Super Mage. He held a prominent position and was active in nurous disasters in the future, with his most notable contribution being his "Hidden Threat Strategy."

The concept was to eliminate all demon threats within human territories, prioritizing internal security before external expansion.

A year and a half later, Zhu ng attempted to kill the "hidden threat" in Hangzhou, which happened to be the totem spirit Black Serpent, worshipped by Tang Yue's clan. The Black Serpent was a subordinate to the Black Tortoise, one of the Four Great Sacred Beasts.

In the original story, Lu Jun had previously defeated Dongfang Ming, who was once ordered by Zhu ng to capture Mo Fan and Tang Yue as a mber of the Judgent Court. This was because they had secretly taken the Black Serpent away.

Thinking about this, Lu Jun glanced at Tang Yue nearby. She hadn't ntioned anything about her family's background yet, likely because Zhu ng's plan hadn't been initiated.

This man, Zhu ng, could be described as a genuine hero. He fought tirelessly in disasters across the country. The only opposition ca from differences in position and philosophy. Eventually, he realized his mistakes and reconciled with Tang Yue's clan.

As Lu Jun was deep in thought, the squadron of Sky Eagles descended slowly.

At the forefront, Zhu ng approached with a bold stride. Beside him were a valiant female officer and a reserved, steadfast guard commander.

Lu Jun's sister, Lu i, frowned and stepped forward to ask, "What business do you have here?"

"Nothing much," Zhu ng replied in his rough voice. His sharp gaze landed on Lu Jun as he asked sternly, "Why didn't you request reinforcents for the Songjiang River Outpost?!"

Lu Jun was slightly startled but quickly responded with calm authority, "We didn't need any."

"Hahaha! Good, good, good!"

Zhu ng burst into hearty laughter, clapping Lu Jun on the shoulder with appreciation. "Not bad! Of all the people I've commanded, you're the easiest to work with. Everyone else either runs into problems or constantly requests reinforcents, sending endless reports and driving crazy!"

"Of course, if you ever do need help, make sure to speak up. I despise those who lack ability but insist on keeping up appearances."

He paused, then said, "You're from Pearl Academy, aren't you? Once this mission is over, I'll see to it that you're recognized for your contributions. In the National Battle in two years, I'll personally recomnd you."

The guard commander, Wu Pingjing, looked surprised. It was the first ti he had seen Councilman Zhu ng so impressed with soone. He couldn't help but feel envious of Lu Jun, as earning such recognition from Zhu ng would undoubtedly pave an easier path in the future.

anwhile, Lu Jun and his companions exchanged puzzled looks, unsure of what was happening. They voiced their confusion.

Zhu ng shook his head and explained, "Damn it, there was no news from your side at all earlier. The command center was in a panic, thinking the Songjiang outpost had fallen. If that happened, it would affect the livelihoods of over 100,000 people. We rushed over in a hurry, but instead, you gave a pleasant surprise."

He then glanced at the blood-red reservoir by the dam and praised, "Your magic reserves must be depleted by now. I'll arrange for reinforcents to rotate with you. Take a rest."

However, to everyone's surprise, Lu Jun calmly responded, "No need."
