The refinent applications that Lin Mu had specified were all thods typically understood only by Celestials. It was the kind of knowledge that ca with ti and experience in the Celestial Realm.
One would need to grasp the nature of Celestial Qi and comprehend the Dao at a higher level before being able to touch upon such applications.
Of course, there was always a way for soone to teach these thods to an individual in the Immortal Realm, but it would be akin to preaching sutras to a donkey. Just because they could hear the teachings didn't an they would truly understand them. It required trendous effort and innate comprehension to grasp these principles fully.
The way Lin Mu spoke about these techniques wasn't like soone rely parroting what they'd heard. The Saintess could tell he understood these thods deeply.
The Saintess was well-versed enough in refinent thods to recognize Lin Mu's expertise. His confidence and tone of voice reflected soone with tens of thousands of years of experience, not soone learning secondhand.
"Where did you learn all this from?" the Saintess questioned, her curiosity piqued.
"The Withered Spirit Daoist, or rather Yao Changying, had many treasures on her person," Lin Mu replied. "It turns out the Withered Spirit Daoist was originally from an Alchemist sect and was a refiner herself. I managed to learn this from the treasures she kept on her." He provided a plausible explanation.
"Even if she had treasures like that, there's no way to learn so quickly. Even… for you," the Saintess said, clearly shocked.
"Well, the treasure was unique," Lin Mu explained. "It seems the Withered Spirit Daoist injected all her understanding of alchemy and refinent into it. She probably intended to pass it on to Yao Changying once the two of them had truly rged."
Hearing that, the Saintess furrowed her brows, deep in thought, before a possibility ca to her mind.
"Could it be… a Soul Inheritance Treasure?" the Saintess muttered.
Lin Mu's heart skipped a beat. He realized his excuse had worked. There was no way he could safely reveal the truth about how he'd gained such profound knowledge. Even though the Saintess wouldn't harm him, she could inadvertently beco a target because of him.
With his newfound understanding of Celestial powers and divination techniques, Lin Mu knew it was best to keep the number of people who knew of his ability to absorb mories from souls to a minimum.
If the Celestial Court or other powerful entities discovered his secret through divination, they might target the Saintess to get to him. Lin Mu couldn't allow her to face danger because of his actions. This excuse served both their interests.
What's more, Lin Mu did know about the Soul Inheritance Treasure the Saintess ntioned. It was sothing only a Celestial could create, involving the use of their True Will to impart their experiences and comprehension to future generations.
Creating such a treasure was a rare act, typically done at the brink of death. Great masters or sect elders often chose this thod to ensure their knowledge was preserved for future disciples. The process required great care and selectiveness, as it was impossible to imbue all of one's experiences and understanding into the treasure without causing it to collapse.
Given this, it made sense that the Withered Spirit Daoist would prepare such a treasure. As she planned to divide her soul, she would inevitably lose parts of her knowledge. Preserving the most valuable portions of her alchemical expertise was a logical choice.
"Was your long sleep due to that too?" the Saintess guessed.
"Yes. I didn't expect it to take so long to assimilate the knowledge," Lin Mu said with a faint smile.
"It's surprising you only slept for six months," the Saintess replied. "Usually, it would take several years to fully grasp and assimilate such complex information. The fact that you managed it in six months is nothing short of miraculous." She couldn't help but praise him.
Of course, she had no idea that what Lin Mu had assimilated wasn't just the Withered Spirit Daoist's alchemical and refinent knowledge but an entire two million years' worth of mories and understanding.
If she knew the truth, it was hard to predict how she would react. Perhaps it was better this way, as the reality of assimilating two million years of mories in six months seed utterly insane.
For now, Lin Mu's carefully crafted explanation seed to satisfy the Saintess. She even felt he was fortunate to obtain such a treasure.
"Since you now have this understanding of refinent, you can proceed as you wish," the Saintess said. "The thods you described are indeed authentic and should work well. However, whether you can fully apply them remains to be seen. Practical experience with these applications is essential." She cautioned Lin Mu against expecting imdiate success.
"It's fine," Lin Mu replied with calm confidence. "I have enough resources to try it a couple of tis. If I fail, I can always use the last portion of the Tyrant Bull Marrow directly as it was intended to be used."
"Very well, you can proceed," the Saintess agreed. "Though, do you wish to do this alone?" She suspected Lin Mu might prefer solitude for this task.
Lin Mu pondered her question for a mont before responding. "Yes. I'd like to try it myself first. If I need help, I'll call for you." He didn't want to impose or risk involving her in case sothing went awry.
The Saintess nodded, understanding his reasoning. "As you wish. Just be cautious. Refinent at this level is not forgiving of mistakes."
Lin Mu gave her a grateful smile. "I'll be careful."
As he prepared to leave, the Saintess watched him with a mix of curiosity and admiration. Lin Mu's rapid growth and ability to navigate challenges that would daunt even seasoned Celestials had left an indelible impression on her. While she couldn't see the full extent of his abilities, she knew he was soone extraordinary.
