Lin Mu ignored the voice of the tempter and returned his attention to the booklet. Even if he didn't have the necessary resources to practice the technique right away, there was no harm in studying it further. Perhaps he would find an alternative thod to train in it or at least gain a deeper understanding of its principles. After all, knowledge was never wasted, and there was always a chance that he might stumble upon the required materials in the future.
An hour passed as he carefully analyzed every detail of the technique. He morized each instruction, visualized every movent described, and tried to simulate the energy flow within his body. However, by the end of his study session, he had to admit that there was no way around it—Spectral Mirror Stones were an essential component.
'The first step is to use the Spectral Mirror Stones to develop an affinity for creating specters,' Lin Mu frowned, realizing he had hit a roadblock. It wasn't just about replicating speed and movent; the technique required a very specific interaction with the stones to manifest its true power. Without them, his training would remain incomplete, no matter how much he tried.
He let out a deep sigh. "I suppose I'll have to put this aside for now." He carefully stored the booklet away, making a ntal note to revisit it once he had acquired the required materials. He was not one to abandon sothing valuable, and he was confident that sooner or later, he would find a way to obtain the Spectral Mirror Stones.
Shifting his focus, he turned back to the pile of items Elder Nui had left behind. If the elder had managed to find such a valuable technique, who knew what other treasures he might have hoarded? There was always the possibility that sothing else among his belongings would prove to be just as useful—perhaps even sothing that could help Lin Mu in his imdiate journey.
"Let's see what else you were hiding," Lin Mu muttered, his curiosity rekindled as he began rummaging through the elder's belongings. He opened the spatial ring and started examining the contents.
The Elder certainly had gathered a lot of wealth over ti. Other than Immortal Stones and pills, Lin Mu found several bundles of talismans of various kinds, formation tools, as well as Immortal Weapons and tools. Each item held potential, but he needed to sort through them carefully to determine what was truly valuable to him.
"Oh, he has a high-grade Immortal Axe." Lin Mu's eyes were quickly drawn to the weapon. It was shaped like a common woodcutter's axe but had hundreds of runes carved into its handle and blade. A distinct energy emanated from it, confirming that it was no ordinary weapon. At the back of the blade, he could see its na inscribed.
"Lake Splitter." Lin Mu read the na aloud.
He reached out and gripped the axe, feeling a faint resistance from it. As expected, it had not yet accepted him as its new master.
He used his Immortal Sense to probe the weapon, but it rejected him, preventing his deeper investigation.
"So it still has loyalty to its old master." Lin Mu chuckled. This was a common property of Immortal Weapons. The stronger and more refined a weapon was, the more attached it beca to its wielder. Even if one stole or looted such a weapon, it would take a long ti to win over its allegiance.
'This must've been used by him for a long ti for it to act like this.' Lin Mu thought to himself. A weapon like this would not submit easily.
With a slight shrug, he stored the axe into his ring. He had no use for it now, and while he knew how to wield an axe, it wasn't his preferred weapon. He already possessed powerful weapons that suited his fighting style far better.
"The others should be a lot more accepting." Lin Mu reckoned and checked the rest.
The Elder had another, smaller axe—a hatchet. This one was a Mid-Grade Immortal Weapon and looked rather new. Unlike the Lake Splitter, it did not have any runes on it, which ant it was a pure refinent-type weapon.
He probed it with his Immortal Sense and t so resistance, but a few minutes of focused effort was all it took for Lin Mu to erase Elder Nui's imprint on it.
'Tiger Break Hatchet…' Lin Mu learned of its na. 'This should be good as a spare throwing weapon.' He thought before storing it away as well.
Since it was a pure refinent-type immortal weapon, it had no innate skills. However, it was still a sturdy and sharp weapon, ideal for swift attacks or last-minute defenses.
The other two Immortal Weapons the Elder had were a whip, which was a Low-Grade Immortal Weapon, and a simple sword of the sa grade. Lin Mu simply erased Elder Nui's imprint on them and stored them away as well. He already had plenty of such weapons in his possession, so he didn't pay much attention to them.
The Immortal Tools, on the other hand, caught his interest more. Among them was a Formation Brush of Low Grade and a Carving Knife of Mid Grade.
'Looks like he was a decent Formation Master as well.' Lin Mu thought as he examined the tools. A formation brush was useful for inscribing array patterns quickly, while a carving knife allowed for precision in crafting talismans or setting up formations. These would be useful for future endeavors, so he decided to keep them.
This was the extent of what was kept in the elder's ring, though Lin Mu was sure this wasn't the full extent of his wealth.
'He probably has more storage tools or a vault at the sect.' Lin Mu reasoned.
After all, keeping all of one's wealth in one place was not the wisest decision. Any cautious cultivator would have multiple places to store their valuables in case of ergencies.
