"Show yourself!" High Elder Yannan demanded, his grip tightening around the hilts of his twin axes.

"Oh, don't worry. I never intended to hide," the voice replied, calm and unwavering, yet carrying an edge sharp enough to cut through the night air.

The disciples turned in the direction of the sound, their hearts pounding. A figure erged from the shadows of the treeline, stepping into the moonlight with asured ease. His pace was unhurried, his expression unreadable, and his presence—unshaken. He carried himself with the confidence of a man who had already decided the outco of this confrontation.

Recognition struck like lightning across the faces of the River Bending Axe Sect mbers.

"Lin Mu!" one disciple gasped, the na falling from his lips like a death sentence.

They had spent weeks morizing his appearance, scouring the land for any trace of him. And now, he stood before them—alone, fearless, and utterly indifferent to their numbers.

Lin Mu ca to a halt a few feet away, his piercing gaze sweeping over the assembled foes. He crossed his arms, unbothered by the anxious shuffling of the disciples gripping their weapons tightly.

"You've been looking for ," he said, his voice calm but carrying the weight of inevitability. "Well, here I am."

The air grew heavy with silence.

"He's the one that sent the letter?" a disciple murmured in disbelief.

High Elder Yannan let out a derisive laugh, stepping forward. "So you lured us here?" he sneered. "A trap?"

"And if I did?" Lin Mu replied, raising a brow.

"It wouldn't matter," Yannan said, his chuckle turning into a growl. "You'll be dying here regardless."

Lin Mu simply exhaled, his lips curling into a smirk. "You won't be the first Seventh Tribulation Stage Immortal I've killed."

A palpable shift swept over the gathered cultivators. The arrogance in Yannan's expression faltered for a fraction of a second, but he masked it with a scowl.

"The blood from the last few still lingers on my blades," Lin Mu continued, his fingers twitching as two swords materialized in his hands.

SHING SHING

The sound echoed ominously, like the whisper of fate itself. The gleaming blades, steeped in an aura of past carnage, seed to hum in anticipation.

Yannan's lips curled back into a snarl. "You talk big. But let's see if you can fight!"

With a roar, he lunged forward, summoning his own weapons—twin axes crackling with energy.

CLANG! CLANG!

The impact of their clash sent a shockwave rippling through the air, shaking the very ground beneath them. The disciples instinctively staggered back as the two warriors exchanged powerful blows in a furious blur of steel.

"Attack him together!" Yannan barked at the disciples. "We'll overwhelm him!"

The disciples wasted no ti, tightening their encirclent around Lin Mu. A dozen figures dashed forward, weapons drawn, intent on cutting him down from all angles.

Lin Mu, however, remained unfazed.

"Little Shrubby," he said, his voice like a quiet storm. "Keep them alive. I need information."

A thunderous roar answered him.

ROAR!

A crimson blur exploded into the fray.

Before the disciples could react, an unstoppable force tore through them like a raging inferno.

"AARGHHHHH!"

"MY LEGS—!"

"IT BURNS—!"

Fifteen disciples collapsed to the ground, their cries of agony filling the air as they writhed helplessly. Their legs lay severed, strewn across the battlefield like discarded waste. Blood pooled beneath them, steaming as the heat of the beast's attack cauterized the wounds.

The disciples, who had monts ago stood tall and eager for battle, now gasped in horror at the devastation wrought upon them in re seconds.

The High Elder's eyes widened in disbelief. He had barely been able to register the blur of motion before his disciples had fallen. He turned his gaze towards the beast responsible.

A hulking figure stood there, his fur wreathed in flickering flas. His steel-like eyes glead with predatory nace as he surveyed his prey.

"A beast?" one of the fallen disciples choked out in horror.

Yannan's mind raced. 'How can a creature move so fast? Even I could barely track its motion…'

"I still need them alive," Lin Mu reminded, unbothered.

Little Shrubby grunted. "On it."

The beast exhaled small orbs of fla that shot towards the disciples. The mont the fireballs made contact, they fused to their wounds, burning away the exposed flesh.

The sll of charred at filled the air as the disciples shrieked anew.

"There," Little Shrubby growled. "Now they won't bleed out."

"Take them away," Lin Mu ordered. "We'll deal with them later."

In an instant, the beast blurred once more, snatching up the fallen disciples. Within the blink of an eye, they were gone.

All that remained of them were their severed legs.

"YOU—!" Yannan trembled with rage, his body vibrating with sheer fury.

Never in his centuries as a High Elder had he experienced such humiliation. These weren't just any disciples—they were his personal students, handpicked and trained by him.

Yet, they had been rendered useless before he could even comprehend what had happened.

His fingers tightened around his axes as a realization dawned upon him.

'The information we had was completely wrong. This is no Fourth Tribulation Stage Immortal. He is far, far more dangerous.'

A sickening dread pooled in his stomach. He had been expecting an easy hunt. Instead, he had walked into a slaughterhouse, and he was the next animal on the block.

But he wasn't about to go down without a fight.

THUD!

A sudden, crushing pain erupted in his chest.

His mind reeled as he looked down to see Lin Mu's armored fist buried deep into his torso.

"UGH!"

The force sent Yannan skidding backward, but he hastily ford a defensive water barrier around himself.

DENG! DENG!

Lin Mu's blades crashed against the barrier, sending ripples of energy across its surface.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

A relentless barrage of punches followed, hamring into the barrier with terrifying force.

CRACK!

The protective layer splintered like glass.

SHATTER!

The barrier gave way completely, exposing the High Elder's stunned face.

"You…" Yannan gasped, struggling to process how easily his defenses had been broken.

Lin Mu smirked. "Don't worry. If you just stand still, it'll be over quickly."

His figure vanished in an instant.

"WHERE—?" Yannan's panicked shout was cut off as a silver blade sliced through the air.

SLICK.

Blood splattered across the grassy ground.
