2719 Finishing Up
A cold smirk appeared on Lin Mu's lips.
"Indeed." His voice was calm, yet it carried a deathly chill. "And I am here to end you."
The elder barely had ti to react before Lin Mu vanished once again.
BOOM!
A single devastating punch landed squarely on the elder's chest, sending him flying out of the sect's gates. His bones shattered upon impact, and his body crumpled to the ground, unconscious before he even hit the dirt.
Silence fell over the battlefield.
No one dared to move. No one dared to speak.
The River Bending Axe Sect had been destroyed.
Lin Mu had accomplished what many thought to be impossible.
And now, the only question that remained was—what would he do next?
BOOM BOOM BOOM!
Lin Mu moved like a flash, raining down punches on the elders that were still standing. With the combination of shock and fear they had just endured, they were unable to react in ti and were overwheld quickly.
In just a couple of minutes, Lin Mu had defeated the remaining elders.
Lin Mu then confird that none of them would be getting up anyti soon and looked at the disciples that were still kowtowing on the ground.
A few of them peeked out secretly and were terrorized at the sight.
The elders whom they had all seen as bastions of strength were now defeated like they were re chickens in front of a wolf. They lay broken and battered, their lives uncertain.
Lin Mu glanced at the disciples before pointing at one who was at the front.
"You, stand up," he ordered.
This was the very sa disciple who had first spoken out against the oppression of the elders and was now regretting his decision.
'I knew I should've stood at the back,' he thought to himself.
But in front of the man who had just demolished their sect in re minutes, he knew there was no choice but to comply.
He stood up and cupped his fists while bowing his head.
"Junior Jin greets Venerated Senior!" he greeted loudly.
A while ago, he and the other disciples had considered the man in front of them the greatest enemy, but now they were all cowering in fear, addressing him with the utmost respect they could muster.
"Tell … where is the Patriarch?" Lin Mu questioned.
"The… The Patriarch?" Jin was surprised but then pointed at the river. "He was in the healing pavilion at the Central Ridge," he revealed.
Lin Mu looked over at the forr location of the ridge that was now subrged into the river.
"Why was he there?" Lin Mu was confused.
"The Patriarch had a Qi deviation and was being treated," the disciple answered.
"Huh?" Lin Mu absolutely could not understand how this was possible.
It seed out of the norm, and for it to happen now of all tis was strange. Realizing that there was a lot he was missing, Lin Mu decided to ask for more details.
"Tell everything that happened here," Lin Mu demanded.
"Yes, Senior!" The disciple quickly began to narrate everything.
He told Lin Mu about the sudden loss of business as well as the breaking of connections, which led to the Patriarch going into a rampage and destroying the sect's facilities before falling into Qi deviation.
After hearing all that, Lin Mu had a look of utter confusion on his face.
'The sect would have fallen even if I didn't co here. Even the disciples are looking to leave and have lost trust in the sect,' Lin Mu thought to himself.
All he could do now was wonder—was this just pure luck? Or was there sothing else he didn't know about?
'It is certainly suspicious that the River Bending Axe Sect's businesses fell so easily and that their allies also turned on them,' Lin Mu pondered.
RUMBLE!
Just as he was thinking this, the sound of sothing shaking could be heard.
Lin Mu looked over to the source and saw that it was coming from none other than the sunken Central Ridge.
The river rippled before turning into waves.
WHOOSH!
In the next mont, two n rose out from it. Both of them looked to be quite injured, with bleeding faces.
"WHO!? WHO DID THIS!?" one of the n shouted.
"WHO DARES TO ATTACK THE RIVER BENDING AXE SECT!?" the second man bellowed.
Lin Mu wondered who the two were, but the disciple quickly spoke out.
"Grand Elder! First High Elder!"
Lin Mu narrowed his eyes at them. He could sense their immortal Qi fluctuations, which put them at the Seventh Tribulation Stage of the Immortal realm.
"I did," Lin Mu declared openly.
The two n were stunned as they quickly recognized the man before them.
"Lin Mu!" they said in shock.
"It was you… You did all this?" They couldn't believe that the person they had been hunting all this ti could be so powerful as to bring their sect to its knees.
"Indeed. After all, a debt needs to be paid back with interest," Lin Mu replied without a care.
Hearing this, the two n were taken aback but were quickly filled with anger.
Before they could say anything, Lin Mu spoke up.
"If you want, I can end you two as well," he said without fear. "You can see it yourself—if I could do this to your sect, if I could kill High Elder Yannan, then you two are nothing." He mocked them.
The Grand Elder and First High Elder grew silent upon hearing those words. Their years of experience told them that the man in front of them was certainly dangerous.
The aura of slaughter he exuded was not sothing that could be developed in one day. One would have to kill tens of millions of beings to form such an aura over the years.
And yet, Lin Mu stood there, radiating that very bloodlust, his eyes unwavering, his stance unshaken.
This was no ordinary opponent.
This was an executioner.
One who had co for their heads.
