2794 Forming An Escape Plan
The Holy See stood in the exact center of the capital, commanding a position of divine supremacy and strategic dominance. From afar, it looked like a radiant citadel wrapped in golden spires, stretching across a hundred kiloters in both width and length.
Its walls soared over a hundred ters high, constructed from shimring white stone that pulsed faintly with runes. The outer periter was manned by thousands of elite guards clad in ceremonial armor, each one emanating the aura of a seasoned cultivator.
Even from a distance, Lin Mu could feel the imnse pressure radiating from the structure.
'This place… It's on par with the Inquisitor Fortress in terms of defenses,' Lin Mu assessed. 'But the formations here are far more advanced. Even I would have difficulty getting in undetected.'
Countless layers of protective arrays overlapped like scales on a dragon. The energy fields intertwined with the very fabric of space, warping perception and making it nearly impossible to teleport directly inside.
This wasn't a place built for worship alone—it was a stronghold, a sacred bastion designed to safeguard the Supre Faith and the power behind it.
'Whatever secrets are in there… that's where the truth will be,' Lin Mu thought grimly. But for now, he would have to bide his ti.
The Holy See would not be entered so easily.
'The arrays here are on par with an Immortal Empire's arrays,' Lin Mu noted. 'This won't be easy to enter.' He knew.
Finding vulnerabilities in the array would take a long ti, especially considering the fact that he had to stay hidden the entire ti and also prevent the sensory arrays from detecting him.
'They even have Qi monitoring arrays. It might even pick up on my Immortal Sense,' Lin Mu frowned.
He thought deeply about it for a few minutes before making a decision.
"It isn't worth spending ti here finding a vulnerability to get in. It might take a week or more. That is not the ti I have," Lin Mu muttered to himself.
But that did not an that Lin Mu had nothing he could do.
'That plan might just work,' Lin Mu thought to himself.
His goal was to escape the world, but to do that he needed to use the Teleportation Gate. But that was easier said than done, as the security there would be strong. He could certainly fight them off, but reinforcents would arrive long before that.
He needed to tie them up elsewhere and then work on the teleportation array and hijack it.
'Distractions… Big distractions… I'll give them sothing they won't be able to ignore,' Lin Mu thought to himself as a plan began to form.
It was certainly not one he could deal with on his own—it would need a lot of help.
'At the very least we need people to hold off any reinforcent that might slip through,' Lin Mu thought to himself.
He could handle several Seventh Tribulation Stage immortals, but that was not enough. He was going up against the singular sovereign power of this world, right in the center of their ho.
He would be t with the fiercest resistance possible.
'The Transcendent experts will definitely act. Going up against even one will be difficult,' Lin Mu thought. 'I'll have to use the Power of that Sutra for that…' he knew.
The cost of that was great and he didn't wish to use it unless absolutely necessary.
'Ti to return and begin working on the plan,' Lin Mu thought to himself as he disappeared into the ground.
A few minutes later, Lin Mu reappeared in the lodge.
"How'd it go?" Daoist Chu asked.
"Not as interesting as I had hoped," Lin Mu replied before reporting his findings about the churches and the cathedrals as well as what the Saintess had told him.
Hearing it, Daoist Chu and Monk Hushu were utterly stunned.
"The Dao of Faith and the Path of Faith… I never thought I'd encounter it in my lifeti," Daoist Chu muttered, feeling overwheld.
"Amitabha, such a power of faith is nothing but false hope," Monk Hushu felt disgusted hearing how the people took advantage of it.
"This is certainly not sothing we can handle ourselves. We need the Immortal Court for this," Daoist Chu knew.
"Amitabha, if Crown Prince Feng Shun were here, we'd have better luck. He has the Ergency Soul Summon Token with him," he said, feeling a bit disappointed.
"Ergency Soul Summon Token?" Lin Mu raised his brows. "What's that?" he asked.
"It's similar to the ergency ssage token I have, but it is not affected by the restrictions they put here. Instead of Qi, it works directly by connecting to the soul of the person who made it," Daoist Chu explained. "It can transmit a ssage and even allow the one possessing it to execute a full-power attack of the creator. Like the Imperial Might Talisman," he added.
"That would have certainly been of help here," Lin Mu muttered. "Who's the creator of the token though, and why does the Crown Prince have it?" he asked.
"He received it as a reward for his work. The token itself is made by the Western Immortal Court Head," Daoist Chu revealed. "So if we had that, we…"
"Could have directly contacted the Court Head," Lin Mu realized just how powerful it could have been.
"Yeah," Daoist Chu nodded.
ng Bai listened to everything, feeling quite confused about it all.
This was all way above his pay grade and wasn't even sothing he should have normally been privy to hearing.
"Regardless of whatever it could've been like, we will have to make do with what we have," Lin Mu stated.
"What do you have in mind?" Daoist Chu asked.
"We'll be getting to work. Us and any formation masters that might be present in the building with us," Lin Mu replied.
"I did get contact with them. There are seven of them that would be of help to us," Daoist Chu answered.
"Good. We'll need all the help we can get if we are to get out of here," Lin Mu muttered.
