A roar erupted across the hall, both from the one in human form and those in draconic shape. The sound shook the cavern, sending tiny shards of frost falling like glittering snow.
Lin Mu watched them, his gaze thoughtful.
The anger of the Ice Drakes was not misplaced.
They were noble creatures, bound by ancient oaths and fierce loyalty.
Once they declared vengeance, nothing could sway them.
When the echoing roars died down, Lin Mu finally spoke, his voice calm but firm.
"That ti will co. But before that, there is sothing I must share. I now know more about the Ephera Sect and their plans." He stated.
The Elder Ice Drake turned to him sharply. "You do?"
Lin Mu nodded. "From the last enemy I faced, I managed to extract quite a bit of information. Their sches are deeper than we thought. They are not acting without a certain goal."
Daoist Chu's eyes narrowed. "Then it is as we feared."
Lin Mu did not explain exactly how he had obtained the information.
There were certain thods best left unspoken... thods involving souls and truth drawn from the very essence of one's being. But he knew that among those gathered here, no one would judge him for it.
They all understood the weight of the path he walked and the consequences that had been avoided.
As the hall settled into heavy silence, Lin Mu looked around once more, the healed Ice Drakes, the grateful companions, the loyal Little Shrubby still sitting quietly by his side.
A faint smile crossed his lips.
For now, they had survived.
But deep down, Lin Mu could already sense that the true storm was yet to co.
The air in the great hall had quieted, leaving only the faint hum of energy from the still-active formation lines etched into the icy floor. Lin Mu sat cross-legged beside Little Shrubby, whose steady breathing continued to radiate warmth.
His companions gathered around him, their expressions serious but patient. The Elder Ice Drake stood slightly apart, arms crossed, his gaze steady and full of unspoken curiosity.
Cattaleya was the first to break the silence. "Lin Mu," she said softly, "you ntioned that you know more about the Ephera Sect. What else did you learn?"
Her tone carried both hope and dread.
Everyone here had seen the cruelty of that sect firsthand-the poisoned Ice Drakes, the attacks in dynasty, the unholy experints hidden in shadow and many more atrocities in the past. Any new information could either be a weapon or a warning.
Lin Mu closed his eyes briefly, gathering his breath. "Give so ti," he said calmly. "I need to organize what I have learned. The information I learned is... vast."
Daoist Chu nodded. "Take your ti. We will wait."
Monk Hushu folded his hands together and began murmuring a low chant, one that filled the air with a quiet sense of peace. ng Bai and Cattaleya exchanged glances but said nothing. They all knew better than to disturb Lin Mu when he was sorting through information.
Slowly, Lin Mu inhaled, then exhaled. The world around him began to fade as his consciousness sank inward. His spiritual sense traveled deeper, through the sea of his mind, until the real world vanished completely.
When Lin Mu opened his eyes again, he was no longer in the icy hall.
He stood within his own mind space, a vast and ethereal plane lit by an ever-shifting twilight. Above him, countless stars shimred in an endless sky of flowing colors. The ground beneath his feet rippled like liquid light, every motion echoing his thoughts.
It was shaped by his own imagination, thus anything was possible here. Reality was his to command within this space.
In the center of this surreal world floated a familiar figure.
Lin Mo was reclining lazily in midair, as though lounging on an invisible couch.
Surrounding him were dozens of illusory screens, each displaying a different mory. So showed the face of the man Lin Mu had slain, their enemy's final monts frozen in ti, while others flickered with visions of shadowy rituals, vast swamps, and glowing altars hidden deep beneath the earth.
When Lin Mo noticed Lin Mu's arrival, his lips curved into his characteristic devilish grin. "About ti you woke up," he said, his tone half playful and half scolding.
Lin Mu walked forward, his expression calm but inquisitive. "Did you finish the work?"
Lin Mo placed an exaggerated hand over his chest. "Of course I did. Who do you think I am?"
Lin Mu gave a faint hum, neither surprised nor impressed. "Then tell what you found."
Lin Mo's eyes glead as he snapped his fingers.
The screens around him rotated rapidly, rging into a larger array that surrounded them both. "There is a lot," he said. "And I an a lot. Honestly, we were quite lucky to get this one. He was very high up in the Ephera Sect hierarchy."
Lin Mu's brows furrowed slightly. "How high up?"
Lin Mo chuckled. "Let put it this way. The man you killed was not just so elder. He was the Right Elder of the Ephera Sect, the right hand of their leader. One of the oldest mbers still alive and one of the Twelve High Priests that govern the sect's inner operations."
For a mont, Lin Mu's mind went still.
He had expected the man to be powerful; after all, he was a Spatial Cultivator, a rarity even among Immortal sects. But this revelation was beyond what he had imagined.
"The Right Elder..." Lin Mu repeated slowly. "So he was among the top three strongest mbers?"
"Exactly," Lin Mo confird, leaning back with a smirk. "And he was the one who handled all their movent and logistics. Thanks to his mastery of Spatial Dao and skills, the Ephera Sect could appear and disappear anywhere in the Silent Lotus World. Every ambush, every disappearance, every sudden attack... they all ca from his work."
Lin Mu took in the information quietly. "Then it was not just coincidence that they avoided detection for so long"
