Lin Mu smiled faintly. "You're might not be entirely wrong about the hermit part."

"Well," Cattaleya said with a mischievous grin, "if you really can't decide, I have so ideas."

That caught everyone's attention... and concern.

"Oh no," ng Bai muttered imdiately, looking alard.

Ignoring him, Cattaleya began listing her "fun options." "We could head to the northern Immortal Court's territories and challenge the Beast Kings of the Frozen Barrens. I hear their pelts fetch a fortune. Or maybe raid the Shadow Tombs here in the Western Edges? Supposedly haunted and very close to the Farlands, but the treasures are worth the risk. Or-"

"No," ng Bai interrupted quickly, shaking his head with wide eyes. "Absolutely not! Those places are death traps!"

Cattaleya only shrugged. "Where's your sense of adventure, boy?"

"In the part of my brain that values survival," ng Bai replied dryly, making everyone chuckle. "And I've had enough share of ghosts and evil spirits here." he added.

Monk Hushu smiled faintly, pouring himself a cup of tea. "If you wish to avoid such chaos, you could visit the Immortal Court. You ntioned before that you planned to go there eventually. Perhaps the ti has co."

Lin Mu considered that suggestion seriously.

The Immortal Court had always intrigued him, particularly the their grand library where many ancient records and rare Dao inheritances were said to be kept. It was also where the ruling Immortal bureaucracy of the Immortal Realm operated.

Before he could respond, Elyon spoke up. "Actually, I've been aning to bring sothing up. There are a few rcenary missions that have been sitting unresolved for years. They're complex, high-grade assignnts that most groups have failed to complete. If you're interested, we could take one or two along the way."

Lin Mu raised an eyebrow. "Are they that difficult?"

Elyon nodded. "Yes, but also open to all cultivators. So involve investigating ancient ruins or stabilizing rogue dinsional tears. Others are escort missions through contested zones of the Immortal Court territories. With your help, I think we could succeed where others failed."

Lin Mu smiled slightly. "It's been a while since I took on such missions. Perhaps it could be interesting."

Just as he said that, his expression shifted. He turned his head slightly, sensing a faint Qi fluctuation at the gate of the courtyard.

A mont later, a young monk appeared, bowing deeply. "Honored Bearer Lin Mu," the monk said respectfully, "a ssage has arrived for you from another world."

"Co in," Lin Mu said.

The monk stepped forward, carrying a small wooden box sealed with runes. He handed it to Lin Mu, bowed again, and quietly left.

Lin Mu studied the box for a mont before opening it. Inside lay a single scroll, its wax seal stamped with the familiar insignia of the Virgo Constellation. A faint smile touched Lin Mu's lips.

Daoist Chu leaned forward. "Ah, Lady Kang," he said knowingly. "Looks like she finally replied."

In the years of Lin Mu's long slumber, Daoist Chu had been the one to keep contact with Lady Kang. He had sent her occasional updates, letting her know Lin Mu's condition. She had worried deeply at first, but when she learned that the Saintess herself was overseeing Lin Mu's recovery, her anxiety had lessened.

Lin Mu broke the seal and unfurled the scroll, reading the delicate handwriting carefully.

Her ssage, surprisingly enough... began warmly, she asked about his recovery and hoped that his health had fully returned. She expressed gratitude that he had survived the calamity and ntioned that she had sent along his share of the profits from their previous ventures.

Lin Mu glanced into the box again and saw a small spatial ring resting beside

the scroll. He could sense a vast amount of wealth and resources stored within

it.

Continuing to read, his eyes narrowed slightly as the tone of the ssage shifted. Lady Kang had written about the task he had once entrusted her with, the search for the Vault of the Virtuous Calamity Daoist.

Lin Mu's interest piqued imdiately.

She explained that after years of searching, she had uncovered new clues. Though the exact location of the vault still remained hidden, she had narrowed down the possibilities to the territory of the Eastern Immortal Court.

A faint smile spread across Lin Mu's face.

The letter ended with an update about her own quest, the search for her clan's lost seal. That, she admitted, was still unresolved, though she would continue pursuing it. And once she had rough coordinates, she would relay it to Lin Mu.

Lin Mu rolled up the scroll slowly, his thoughts deepening.

The Vault of the Virtuous Calamity Daoist had long since been his goal. After all, that was where the third ring lay hidden.

He had wanted to find it for years, both to obtain the ring, as well as the other secrets that lay within. Lin Mu hadn't forgotten the strange weapons he had

seen in his dreams.

Daoist Chu noticed the thoughtful look on Lin Mu's face.

"So," he asked, "are you thinking what I think you're thinking?"

Lin Mu looked up and nodded. "Yes. We'll go to the Eastern Immortal Court's territory. If the vault truly lies there, we might finally find it."

Daoist Chu leaned back with a small grin. "Then that's our next journey settled. But we'll have to pass through the Western Immortal Court's main base to take the Grand Teleportation array. Perhaps we can take care of so other matters

on the way"

Elyon crossed his arms and nodded. "That works perfectly. One of the major rcenary missions I ntioned is also located in the Eastern Immortal Court's domain. We could complete that at the sa ti."

Cattaleya cracked her knuckles. "Finally! Sothing interesting again. I was getting bored of quiet days. Plus I've only been to the Eastern Immortal Court's territory once."

ng Bai smiled faintly. "As long as it doesn't involve another death swamp or a cursed tomb, I'll go anywhere."

Lin Mu chuckled quietly. "I'll try to avoid those."
