Chapter 1857: Section 1858 Room Distribution
Angel scrutinized it for a long ti but couldn’t understand what these seemingly unrelated fragnted Magic Patterns were trying to convey.
Also, why were they engraved on such a piece of armor?
Angel couldn’t grasp the significance of this armor for the mont, so he decided to set it aside temporarily and focus on finding the laboratory first.
As for the peculiarities of this strange armor, if he still couldn’t figure it out later, he’d ask the Tree Spirit.
With this thought, Angel took one last look at the armor blocking the path, then walked around it and continued forward.
Because of the appearance of the armor, Angel was now certain that this path was different from the previous one that had him walking in circles; it certainly wouldn’t take him over ten minutes without finding an end.
Indeed, after walking about twenty more steps, Angel saw a staircase that led downward.
This was a staircase that twisted downward like a coiled snake. Upon reaching the first turn, Angel saw a door.
As he approached the door, the candle holders on either side lit up imdiately.
Worried it might be another linked chanism, Angel inspected the candle holders and found there was no lamp oil in them, but rather a rough-looking tallic disc that appeared to be an Alchemical semi-finished product.
After using the Eye of Nalda to assess it, Angel confird that the tallic disc was indeed an Alchemical product composed of Phosphorite.
The characteristic of Phosphorite is that it emits a ghostly glow like a phosphor fla when it senses the presence of a living being.
Much like the situation with these candle holders, the tallic disc likely sensed Angel’s living aura, causing it to glow and provide illumination.
Unlike the previous candle holders, this was not a chanism.
After confirming there was no chanism involved, Angel examined the door. Despite the decorative Patterns, it was just an ordinary iron door.
There was a brass naplate on the door, inscribed with symbols in a formal script: Guest Room.
Below the title, there was a line of very elegant cursive script: “Although it’s used for receiving guests, not many have the stature to et with .”
From the words, it was evident that the one who left the ssage was a very proud individual.
Angel surmised that this might have been left by the previous occupant of the relic, Tizarro.
Angel probed inside with a Spirit Tentacle, and as described on the naplate, it was a simple guest room. Behind the red curtains, long tables and elegant chairs could be seen, along with various clean-looking but likely centuries-unwashed drinking utensils.
Angel walked around the guest room, confird that there was no energy feedback or hidden traps, and exited.
Upon exiting the guest room, Angel continued downward. On the next level, he encountered another door, and the candles flared up again upon his arrival.
In the light, it was clear that the naplate on the door read: Study.
Similarly, beneath the Study title was another line of cursive script: “I don’t need a bedroom, but I do require a study that no one can disturb.”
“Is this a study?” Angel pushed his spiritual power through the main door and indeed found rows of towering bookshelves on the other side.
The feedback from his spiritual power indicated no danger. So, Angel directly pushed open the door and walked in.
There was indeed no danger inside; the bookshelves were neatly arranged, though most were empty. In front, there was a desk, and as Angel approached, the candle holder on it lit up imdiately, suggesting another Alchemical product made of Phosphorite.
The desk was neatly organized with a pen holder, ink, and blank paper, indicating that soone had deliberately tidied the place up before sealing the relic.
The shape of the bookshelves was reminiscent of those at the Cloudtop Library, even possessing Magic Patterns for restricting book access, only activating if certain conditions were t.
However, the Patterns were now devoid of Energy supply, and the chanisms had been cleared, rendering them inactive. Furthermore, the bookshelves contained no significant books, only a few mortal works.
After strolling around and confirming that nothing was amiss in the study, Angel continued downward.
To Angel’s surprise, upon reaching the third underground level of the stairs, he found it to be the end.
This third underground level was different from before; it had two opposing doors. On the left door, the brass naplate read: Material Storage.
Beneath it, there was a line of cursive script: “It’s better to expand the lab than to build such a large material storage.”
Observing this script, Angel was mostly certain that it was left by Tizarro, as, according to the Tree Spirit, only two people had occupied this relic, considering themselves the owner.
One was the original builder of the relic, and the other was Tizarro.
The cursive script on the naplate was clearly a jab at the builder of the relic. This made it evident that the cursive script indeed belonged to Tizarro.
Angel did not imdiately check the state of the material storage but instead turned his attention to the door directly opposite. Based on Tizarro’s criticism, Angel was mostly certain that this door likely led to the laboratory.
Sure enough, a brass naplate hung on the iron door, inscribed: Laboratory.
Beneath the laboratory title, there was also a line of Tizarro’s cursive script, but this ti it was not a jab, just a very brief line: “No entry without invitation!”
The bright red script indicated Tizarro’s attitude towards the laboratory, which was evidently more solemn compared to the other rooms.
This appeared to be Tizarro’s most valued place.
Angel looked at the laboratory and then at the material storage, finally deciding to inspect the material storage first. After all, Tizarro’s emphasis on the laboratory suggested that there might be chanisms or traps inside.
Pushing open the material storage, what ca into view was not a room but an enormous space.
As Tizarro had quipped, the material storage was astonishingly large.
It resembled a massive cavern; both its height and width were several tis larger than the other rooms, comparable to a dium-sized square.
In front of Angel was a staircase leading downward, providing direct access to the space’s floor.
Upon reaching the bottom, Angel was even more convinced that this was likely a natural underground cavern. He saw nurous stalactites; however, those erging from the ground had their tops removed and were transford into tabletops and display stands.
Angel walked closer and noticed that words were written next to the display stand nearby.
Not in cursive script, but very formal characters: Mithril.
Mithril is a special Demonic Material.
This display stand marked with Mithril ant…this was once the location where Mithril was placed?
Angel examined the other display stands and indeed found nas of various materials written on them, indicating that this was once the site for placing Demonic Materials. However, it was now entirely empty.
After walking around the material storage, Angel understood why it was so large; there was a miniature woodland for storing Demon Plant; a heat-lt zone simulating a volcanic environnt for fire-related materials… a vacuum zone, freezing area, desertification zone, artificial lake, etc., which divided the material storage into countless sections.
One could say it was a very comprehensive miniaturized eco-system material library.
