His only hope now was to survive this deadly dinner smoothly.
To achieve this modest wish, he naturally needed to learn more about the banquet and the guests. The chat of the black and white maids beca his best channel of understanding at this mont.
“Speaking of which, I can understand why the Boiling Gentleman hasn’t arrived. His duty station, the Candlelight Corridor, is far from here and takes so ti to get here. But why hasn’t that Tentacle Monster arrived yet?” the white maid asked, glancing at the guests at the banquet.

“I’m just curious. Byer Corner, where I am, and the Sunken Cetery, where you patrol, are both farther than the place he resides. Yet, he hasn’t co over by now. Is there a new issue at the Cross Hall?” The white maid’s calm and composed tone swallowed the black maid’s complaints.
The black maid paused for a mont: “Perhaps, while patrolling the Sunken Cetery I sensed a strong presence of Origin, maybe from the inner region.”
“Is that so? No wonder I sensed earlier…”
Sensed what?
Angel was eavesdropping; their conversation revealed so much information that Angel had a hard ti keeping his ears pricked. Unexpectedly, as he was engrossed in eavesdropping, the white maid suddenly stopped halfway through her sentence.
Angel thought his little eavesdropping attempt had been discovered and sneaked a glance at the white maid. However, he found that she wasn’t looking towards the main seat but was instead deeply inhaling the air, seemingly sniffing sothing.
On the other side, the black maid also seed to sll sothing. A trace of longing flashed in her dark eyes, along with intense wariness: “It’s the scent of boiling.”
Angel had been focusing on their conversation, but when he heard the black maid ntion the “scent of boiling,” his mind went blank. Boiling had a scent?
Angel secretly sniffed himself, but apart from the slightly sweet aroma of food, he detected no other scent in the air. So, he didn’t quite understand what the maids were slling.

As she finished speaking, Angel clearly noticed the white mist emitting from beneath her steel crinoline increasing significantly. On the other side, the black mist under the black maid’s skirt also rapidly intensified following the white maid’s anomaly.

When he saw these shoes, Angel felt a loud boom in his mind, familiar with those shoes as they were seen when Sanders looked through the channel outside the Star Pond.
And the owner of these shoes was also the opponent Lord Reine fought with in that corridor filled with bizarre creatures!
Angel never expected that he would also attend this banquet?
Could he be the Boiling Gentleman the maids ntioned?
As Angel’s thoughts raced, his eyes suddenly moved. His peripheral vision seed to catch sothing flashing past the leather shoes and into the corridor’s darkness.
Was it an illusion? As Angel pondered, the Lunatic To hovering mid-air spoke: “The Boiling Gentleman has arrived.”
Perhaps thinking Angel might not recognize the Boiling Gentleman, the book added while introducing the guest, “The reason he is called a gentleman is because he is a respected Moonlight Noble in the inner region. Moreover, the black and white maids are also related to him.”
As for the specific connection between the maids and the Boiling Gentleman, the book didn’t ntion it, considering the involved parties were present at the banquet.
However, the white maid seed to believe it was no secret, she smiled and said, “You need not hide it. Lady Shava, being a royal noble, naturally knows these secrets. The Boiling Gentleman was created single-handedly by Minister Dim. He inherited Minister Dim’s will, while the Power Furnaces of the black and white maids are the Boiling Gentleman’s work.”
After speaking, the white maid looked down at the white mist continuously emanating from beneath her skirt, a trace of bewildernt flickering in her pure white pupils: “Whenever I get close to the Boiling Gentleman, the Power Furnace automatically initiates thermal rejuvenation. This feeling is truly wonderful.”
As they spoke, the Boiling Gentleman had already walked into the dark corridor.
As soon as the Boiling Gentleman entered the dark corridor, an anomaly occurred; a terrifying energy fluctuation suddenly emanated from the corridor.
Angel had never understood what the scent of boiling ant.
Now, he started to gain so enlightennt.
When this terrifying energy surged, the previously calm Nightmare Realm atmosphere suddenly beca restless, like boiling hot water, churning around.
